A resonator muffler is the best life hack for good sounding exhaust. You can buy one that's good for your setup, and lower the pitch and avoid the obnoxious sound. It won't make a 4 cylinder sound like a Caddy with 500 cubes, but it will keep you from sounding like a douche, and if you size it right it shouldn't be restrictive.
Gotta love how every check engine light is on in that poor Corolla I have 2005 Toyota Corolla with no modifications in 205,000 mi in it still runs great some cars you just need to leave alone
