Champva is not for military retirees. It is for dependents of 100 percent permanent and total veterans who are not eligible for Tricare.
Correct, this video is for ALL Military Retirees and their families. It explains how CHAMPVA and Medicare can work together. Whether someone qualifies for CHAMPVA or Tricare for Life... it will act the same when someone is on Medicare.
Excellent presentation, great explanation on how it works.
Thank you for the comment.
I have Champva , but I'm a few years off from 65. I am curious about something I read about Champva only paying 75%. With Medicare, would I still have to pay 25%? It is all so confusing to me. Thanks for clearing up the part D (prescription drugs) for me. I was wondering whether I would need that part. Also, you didn't mention part G or medigap. Would I not need it?
If you have CHAMPVA, that essentially is working as your Medigap plan. You would not need to purchase a Plan G.
@@medicarejoe Thanks so much. That is what I was hoping for!
Good info. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
How do we know what program were in? I recall seing something on tricare but I want to be certain?
You could always contact Medicare and ask them. Or you are welcome to reach out to our office and we can use our system to see what you have. Our contact number is 888-676-3633.
@@medicarejoe I tried to use that nexus service but they wanted several thousand that I don't have. I have many minor and serious medical conditions all legitimately from my time in service but can't afford to "prove" it. I think they know but have been lying to me I suspect, and withholding major info from, which they play down whenever I find things. All the attorneys want me to first be denied before they will help saying it's the law? So I submitted 3 of 4 major claims one without a nexus but it's completely legit but they will try and deny it. My question is this.
Should I submit my toxic substances claim so it will be denied so I can get an attorney to help with it? I have a nexus I believe. This toxic case will probably greatly shorten my life as I already have serious issues manifesting which they are denying?
I have Champva, but my husband is a disabled vet and gets care thru TriWest for out of area care. How does that work with Medicare?
I am not yet of age for Medicare. But I am retired Military and I am a disabled veteran and receive compensation from the VA along with my military retirement. How should I proceed once I reach age 65? Currently I use both systems for health care and medication. VA is free and if I want a second opinion I use Tricare. Please advise.
You could use it the same way... then the giveback option may be a decent one for you if you are using the VA primarily for services. My office would be happy to answer any questions.
Should I drop supplemental plan f since I have champ Va? I see no reason for both. Am I missing something something? Thank you!
They are ultimately acting in the same capacity as your secondary insurance. There is a special plan for folks like yourself that can help lower the Medicare Part B premium. It never hurts to test It out because you can always switch back at anytime. Give us a call 888-676-3633 and we can see if we can help you out!
How do i find out the give back program😊
Give us a call at 888-676-3633 and we can see if you have the option in your area.
Okay so my situation is that my wife was on champva but when she turned 65 champva dropped her because social security office said she wasn’t eligible for Medicare or social security benefits so she applied under my social security benefits and was denied because the social security office told her they didn’t have our marriage certificate on file so I am wanting to know that once she gets the social security benefits and Medicare benefits will she be able to get back into the champva
The champva eligibility is a better question for them. They handle you can qualify for that program and who cannot. If she had It before I don’t see any reason why she can’t while she turns 65 though.
Yes but only with Medicare original parts an and b.
I am a ChampVA recipient. Ill be turning 65 on March 2024. I live in Port Saint Lucie, Fl 34953. I like the idea of the Medicare advantage program. I will find out which insurance companies my doctors are associated with. But does it make a difference if I choose PPO,HMO?
Thank you for this information.
The PPO option definitely offers more flexibility.... we're licensed in FL and would be happy to discuss, you can give our team a call at 888-676-3633.
Champva requires Medicare original. Advances you ineligible. I have original and Champva.
I just applied CHAMPVA for my dependent wife who is retiring this month. I was told the application for champva could take 6 to 9 months. what Medicare insurance should she get to cover all her Health Care needs for the mean time? where is she going to get her Medicine? if she's not allowed to sign up for part D? Anybody out there who can enlighten me?
Yes there are ways to cover her now and for when she gets onto Champva. Ultimately I cannot make a recommendation without understanding more about health, etc. If you give us a call our agents can give you an unbiased opinion at no cost to you! 888-676-3633
Champva took us 3 months to get the card. Medicare original parts an and b required. Drugs can be authorized after getting the card for Champva. Mail order only.
If you have TRICARE you are not eligible for CHAMPVA.
Correct, its either one or the other.
Raised 3 kids on champva, over a 20 year span, in 4 different states only 1 doctor accepted champva. It is completely useless.
The special plans that offer the Part B premium reduction are becoming more popular every year.
Law requires any coaching Medicare assignment original part an and b must take Champva.
lol if your dr accepts Medicare they accept champs by law. You are so miss informed
Why can’t you respond to the comments any provider accepting Medicare Original parts an and b must accept ChampVA too? RU lying?
@@2023Red that’s federal law , you obviously don’t have champ va
Champ va is for ones family...not the vetran. So what are you talking about
