this is such a pure example of my parent's relationship. my mum withstands dad's treatment no matter what. she dismisses it every time she gets hurt, she forgives him, but that toxic relationship further manifests into more trauma, bad memories, physical abusive etc.. and it becomes a loop that makes it hard to get out of , cos you conditioned yourself and see it as normal, and dismissive.
