For all the non-Aussie viewers, PLEASE check out 2000s era Silverchair, it's really good shit. I see everyone exclusively talking about Frogstomp or maybe Freak but Neon Ballroom, Diorama, and even Young Modern are really underrated albums.
Young Modern is an f'ing masterpiece.
Daniel is so misunderstood. He’s an extremely talented, complex soul, with struggles (both mentally and physically) who survived some really dark times. His music with Silverchair and without is brilliant and underrated. Hope Dan stays healthy and true to himself. He deserves peace and happiness like anyone else.

In the 90s, he admitted he was bisexual. If he's straight, I think it's impossible and doesn't make sense... because of the fact that he was in a relationship with a "man" in his crew (didn't mention his name). It's possible that if he breaks his heart it's not with his girlfriend... but with "something".
Great video! I was a HUGE Silverchair fan in the 90's as a teenager. My bedroom walls were a shrine to them basically. I got to see them live 3 times and they were incredible! I really loved their first 3 albums but their last 2 I couldn't really get into very much. Although, I was very sad when they broke up. I'm not a big fan of Daniel's music today. Don't get me wrong, he's an incredible musician/artist but I just don't like his new sound. It's more poppy than rock.
I freaking love the last three albums. The first two, great too. The artsy and experimental stuff is just so good.

I love the grunge era of Silverchair, however my favorite albums are Neon Ballroom and Diorama, where Daniel developed great potential as a song writer. If he had followed that path, Silverchair would have ventured into Progressive Rock. All this promising future was destroyed in 2007 with the worst album and the worst tour the band did. Before this 2007 disaster, Daniel had the potential to far surpass Kurt.
Young Modern is fantastic and that tour in Australia they were the top of their game.

Michael Jackson often had the feeling that he could not control anything in his life accept for his eating and so he ate only once a day, when he had concerts he did not eat of drink anything. Afterwards he had to be brought to the hospital after collapsing being dehydraded.

They did produce some real gems. Some good sound and experimental direction around 2007 but the band relationship and ego wasted the potential.
Frogstomp was great, but I LOOOVE Freakshow.
Imagine what would have happened if Kurt had told Krist and Dave that he wasn't feeling well, like Daniel did...

I love roses 💟I see the similarities between him and Kurt but even then he received so much slack for being "copycats" of Nirvana. I wasn't around when Nirvana broke but I remember how I felt similar to liberation that Sliver Chair gave me like Nirvana

Straight up carbon copy of Nirvana. First album came out in ‘95 (one year after Kurt Cobain’s death) and to me signifies the awkward period before Nu-metal would take over. Silverchair feels like an industry plant, and I know people are gonna be like “bUt tHeY FOrmED in 1992!” … so … they had the same look , sound , and number of members as Nirvana and the only reason they were ever signed to a major was cause Cobain died and the industry was scrambling for another cash cow. Also 1992 is one year after the release of Nirvana’s breakthrough Nevermind album. Seeing a lot of people in this comment section talking about them being underrated. Lol if anything they are over rated , you shouldn’t be able to get famous by being an exact copy of another band.

I think they were more like a grunge copy. They looked like nirvana and definitely ripped off a couple songs, but they sounded more like Pearl Jam.
They sounded nothing like Nirvana they are just in the same genre of music
You do realize Kurt does the same thing he would even ask if it sounded similar to another song he liked which is where he got a lot of his inspirations from there's nothing wrong with using someone else for inspiration

His songwriting and musicianship far exceeded Cobains. And he's not comparing himself to Cobain, he's saying he didn't want to kill himself like other artists have. Cobain is the best example of a guy killing himself because of depression, drugs and pressure.

Have you listened to Diorama? It's a fantastic album and it's the point where they were no longer a Nirvana clone, but their own band. Young Modern is great too, and totally different than Diorama, but Diorama is generally considered their opus. I liked them for their first 3 albums, and was so disappointed by Diorama and the new direction the band took. One day I decided to give Diorama one more try, and it has since become an all time classic
