    Anna, you're a really big help for anybody who sews, including those in the cosplay community.

    New follower on IG and here. I think your teaching style is fantastic. This was so easy to grasp. I am 60+ and have just returned to my machine after many years of staring at it like a long lost friend. 😅 I'm trying to get back in the groove with garment sewing for myself. So glad I found you! Thank you! 🎉

    I’ve never seen a dart on a sleeve before. Thank you for the video. It’s very helpful to know how to adjust the pattern without altering the armhole or bodice width.

      You are very welcome. Most sleeve patterns remove the darts but the sloper sleeve usually has 1 pr 2 darts in it for fit and shaping of the arm. Thank you for watching 😊

    And another great video on pattern adjustments! I have always had issues with woven long sleeve shirts (ready made). The sleeves bind me right across my bicep and are so uncomfortable, so I tend to avoid them at all cost. I'm not a weightlifter by any stretch of the imagination, but I do have broader shoulders than average, which is contributes to the problem. I'm so grateful for this video, Anastasia!!! 🙏🏻

      I’m so happy you enjoyed the video 😊 You could totally make new sleeves for your store bought blouses if you find fabric that goes with them or make 3/4 sleeves & cut up the long sleeve make to use it as fabric. Just an upcycling thought. 💕

      I haven't bought a long sleeve woven top in... 15 years? I appreciate the thought, but any woven tops I get from now will be homemade with a bicep adjustment! 🥰@@SewAnastasia

    Hi - thank you so much, beautifully clear instructions! Do you have a tutorial girl how to adapt a pattern (in my case a shirt pattern) for a broader back? Thank you!

      I do not think I have a video on that one specifically. I can add it to my list. You are basically going to slash and spread up to the neck.

    I'm so glad for this video - I just made a sleeve pattern where the cap was perfect but the bicep was too small. I was so afraid I was going to lose that perfect fit at the cap...problem solved! Thanks!

    Thank you. I needed this. 4” is a lot. But I can’t put on the mock up I made because of the arms. The pattern is two inches smaller than my arm.

      @SewAnastasia  Před měsícem

      @@maryrerden3516 this is awesome to hear!!! :) As far as a limit….I would say no as long as the pattern is laying flat.

    Fantastic tutorial! Will definitely use for my next sleeves.
    QQ- why didn’t the elbow darts get moved up for the length adjustment? Maybe it doesn’t make that big of a difference?
    Thanks again!

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  Před rokem +1

      Yeah you can move the darts up the 1.5 inches. I just didn’t want the video to include it since most people don’t have elbow darts. Basically any style lines you have you will want to move up. I feel like I could talk forever about all the small details to do/look for & it would be a 45 min video lol 😂 I just try to cut it to the point. Great question though!

    If you also wanted to open the elbow a little bit along with the bicep would you cut along the elbow line to open it up like you did with the bicep line?

  • @snugbumswallace7218
    @snugbumswallace7218 Před 4 měsíci

    I'm gonna try this now. My pattern bicep measures 15" I'm 19" with wearing ease. But cap length requires no adjustments. Just spent days on how to adjust been a nightmare learning journey. Especially as I am new to sewing garments. Wish me luck

    Great series on sleeve manipulations! ❤. In this example, due to the blending, will SOME fullness also be added to the forearm as well?

    Does this method have any limitations? Anything over x number of inches, would require a new sleeve pattern? I'm a costumer and womans patterns have smaller arms then I have.... What should I do?
