    We think both of the thermal pools were fantastic and it was difficult to pick which one was the best. We understand why most people prefer Bitter Springs because it’s a lot bigger then Mataranka, and you can float down 👍🤩

    I was there a couple of years ago, intended to call in last year on my way thru but it was closed due to a 2M SALTY taking up residence.
    But what a magic spot!

    I rate Bitter Springs for sure as one of the best in Australia! When we were at Mataranka, it was still great, but there was SO MANY bats haha

      We liked both for different reasons but Bitter Springs definitely has the edge. We were lucky at Mataranka, we didn’t see any bats 👍

    Mataranka Springs were originally very natural as we used to go there in the 70’s from Darwin …….no stonework or artificial walls , just like Bitter Springs …. Natural .

      That’s a shame that they did that, bet it looked much better in the 70’s 👍

    The snake in the dunny was probably deadly. Most venomous snakes in Australia small heads.

      Never knew that about the small heads but it makes sense, thank you 🤩

      @@turtletrackstravels But it is not universal. The eastern taipan has a big head and it is number three in the world.

    We've also been to both and like you liked them both for different reasons. Do you only use your dry bag for pillows or do you keep keys and camera I them rather than leave things on the river side. We going to Oahu and wondered if we could use dry bag for keys nd camera rather than leave on beach
    ?

    • @turtletrackstravels
      @turtletrackstravels  Před měsícem

      We use it for our keys but don’t put in anything that will get ruined by water. Ours is quite old and sometimes gets a little bit of water in it 🤩👍
