Everybody Needs A Friend pays homage to Markus’s memory as if he never left.
On the first anniversary of Markus’s last journey on this planet, the song becomes a video where Martin Turner and his band mates Danny Wilson, Tim Brown and Misha Nikolic raise a glass to Markus and to all absent friends.

Special Guest: Aleksandar Sasha Lokner is legendary Serbian keyboard player, music arranger, music theatre and instrumental music composer and a member of a hugely successful band “Bajaga i Instruktori”. A lesser known fact is that in 1980 just before Wishbone Ash’s gig at Hala Pinki in Belgrade, Yugoslavia he helped Martin Turner get his amp on stage..... He recalls Martin performing the whole concert with his bare feet, something he has never seen before or since!

One of my favourite Wishbone Ash songs, in nearly 50 years of listening to the band and their music.
I am so ashamed to say, that as an avid ash fan from 1972 this song slipped by from my radar and even though I have most of ash early 70's vynils, this song now hits me with a ton of bricks. Thank you Martin for your contribution to music and exceptional talent. Great band and performance by all!

This is the song that turned me into a Wishbone Ash lover in 1973. Incidentally the year I met my wife and still married in 2021. Love the song, melody an lyrics, and it is one of those songs that brings a tear to my eyes every time I hear it. Fabulous.

Same here. I became a Wishbone Ash fan back then. I remember buying the 'Wishbone Four' cassette and this was my favourite track. I've been a Wishbone Ash fan ever since. It sounds as great as ever here with Martin Turner in 2021.

I was sad when Martin left Wishbone Ash, but the result is that we now have 2 fantastic bands doing their material, not one.

A very pleasant surprise to hear this recording. A fine tribute and a reminder as if we needed it that they are a top band of musicians. Lovely solos from Danny and Misha, very tasteful. Hopefully they will revisit some more of Martins back catalogue

I've recently tripped over my Wishbone Ash collection, and revisited many of those albums. What a stupendous band - so many unforgettable melodies and lyrics from a time when talented musicians unashamedly aimed to bring beauty. I'm not too pleased to suddenly find myself knocking on the door of being 69, but that's the price one willingly pays to have grown up with bands like this. For me, this stuff never ages, just reminds me of a time when great bands served hard apprenticeships, the long slog, playing increasingly bigger venues until some A&R rep recognised genius; so unlike the numerous vacuous and vain 'musicians' of today, preening for (anti?) social media cameras and programming their material on computers.
Just a great song from the Wishbone Ash album Wishbone Four. Back in the 1970s Wishbone Ash put out half a dozen great albums, and in Martin Turner they had one of the finest bass players around. Their 3rd album, the classic 'Argus' was the first album I ever bought, and 50 years later it's STILL in my top 10 album list. Check out Martin's fantastic bass lines on the song 'Sometime World'.

How sad I am. I LOVED Wishbone Ash back in 1971 till they split. Although Martin Turner’s voice still sounds awesome, it’s just not the same without Ted Turner, Andy Powell and Steve Upton, the ORIGINAL and for me THE ONLY REAL Wishbone Ash. 😪😪😪😪
