I would say I'm more of an experienced creator who knows pretty much all of these tricks. Your explanations are very clear and even the examples make sense. I'm sure this will highly benefit other unexperienced creators!

Another thing I know that’s a bit minor but still important is how to efficiently move things half a block and one quarter of a block. One half is seven large single arrows and two small single arrows. One quarter is three large single arrows and three small single arrows. (These are the buttons in the edit tab)
Finally, editor tips that actually make sense. Even as someone with years of editor experience and knowing these tricks, I’ve always felt like most editor tutorials are hard to follow or require advanced editor knowledge. Nice to see someone break it down in a way that’s easy to follow. I might offer a few tips of my own that I’ve never heard others mention. - The group parent option (in the edit group tab) marks any object as a center of rotation, and can be used to symmetrically rotate other objects. You can achieve the same effect by copy+pasting an object, rotating it 180 on its own, moving it away from the original, and rotating the pair of objects together. - More on rotation, the rotate trigger… rotates objects around a group parent over a duration. In the editor, if you set the duration to 0 and degrees/revolutions to any number, you can reliably space objects around a parent. Copy+pasting any object affected by movements or rotations while playtesting, then stopping the playtest, will leave the copied objects exactly where they were copied. - If you want to flip an asymmetric structure around (or rotate it at 90degree intervals) without disaligning it from the grid, you can place almost any object (I typically use a spike), select the structure with that object, perform whatever mirrors/rotations you want, then realign everything by snapping the object to the grid (use free move and snap). Or, place two objects outside the structure, select, and flip/rotate, if free move/snap is too difficult.
Something I do to help with inverted slopes is by putting a fully shown slope on top of it on a different editor layer so that I can rotate and invert it while still knowing which way it’s facing, then when it’s done I delete the fully visible one. This was quite helpful yesterday when I was making the start of the wave part in my nine circles level layout.
3:54 You should have clarified that custom objects have a limit of 100 blocks, unless you use custom object bypass on megahack. Since the whole section is about avoiding megahack, the custom object limit should have been mentioned.
I really love how your channel has evolved from just doing challenges and hard demons to actually building really cool levels. keep up the good work :)
I would really like a video on optimization in the editor. It could be really interesting. I know a couple but extremely useful optimization techniques that you can use in your levels, if needed. I can therefore potentially record a video on how I did these optimization techniques, with my optimized version of “The Golden” by BoBoBoBoBo using a lot of them.
I knew most of these tricks but i am just a lazy creator but maybe this video will help a few people. And before you ask future tride viewer i am a member i can see the videos earlier :D
you can also change the rotation speed of black orbs, if you put 1 black orb and edit special it wont have the setting, but when you put 2 and select both you can change the rotation speed of the white thingy around them
One more helpful fact about the edit special option: When selecting a pickup object (the ones mentioned at 5:26), the edit special button allows you to enable pickup or toggle trigger effects, so the object itself will act as a touch activated trigger rather than needing to add a separate trigger behind it! Very convenient function that many creators still don't know about, even very experienced ones
I'm new to making lvls in GD and I found this to be a really helpful intro. I've just been messing around in the editor but didn't know what to make of a lot of things so I appreciate the info. Also, love your other vids.
I'm a gamer and mobile creator (I don't have a PC) and these tips are very useful for me to adapt, since I only know how to do layouts and I don't know how to decorate for as simple as it may be. thank you tride
I ain't no tride but I think I got a pretty good answer. If I recall correctly (its like 11pm in my timezone so i don't wanna open GD rn even tho i have headphones) There's an object in the Line Objects tab (quite sure it's near the spike tab) that has a smaller grid. It's pretty much just a small cube, and with that you can select it, then the object you wanna move half a gridspace, then just move it with WASD however you like. Hope this helped! (this reply looked weird so i added spacing to make it more readable)
I have a question, how can you set your in game icon to be say another different object like a spike for instance, is this the toggle function or the follow one?

As a creator i think this tips can make players have more ways to create anything in the way they want. The editor is like an open world game
