This video will discuss the essentials of strategic decision making on a large scale. Theatres of war, hotkeys, and scouting (you need to scout!) will be looked at in detail.
Regarding hotkeys, I am by no means a top rated player, but there in fact are some competitive players who have made videos on this very subject! When in doubt, it's probably not a bad idea to defer to their recommendations, or... decide what works best for you!
