Nobody sounded like this in 1982... NOBODY!
Legendary and killer!
Yeah rhey had rheir own unique sound/style but Motorhead was and will always be #1 to me as they have the most marerial i love then any other band. Actually saw Trouble and Motorhead with a local band The crusties in my home town in the 80's , a great show.
R.I.P. Eric Wagner! Legend!
Another criminally underrated band from the underground scene. These guys were so original in the 80's and still are.
In CCM they are appreciated, but maybe not by general doom fans.,
The hell they're not! Not respected in the metal scene? Maybe not YOUR little scene.
I've met Trouble for the first time in prison "91
"Criminally underrated" now that's something I've never heard (or read) before and as it pertains to this particular band-I agree.
wuh whabbout jutn bieb was in if he was in a mettleband?
Trouble: one of the greatest heavy bands, the power of the riff lies within.
ONE RIFF TO RULE THEM ALL
RIP Eric. You will be missed
I bought Psalm 9 when it was released and still playing it LOUD
RIP Eric. Watching this again reminds me how powerful his vocals were. This band was a powerhouse and I’ve said before say again. Their 1990 album is one of the greatest if not greatest metal albums ever. The album just keeps coming at you no clunkers all killer. And I’m in full awareness the previous 3 albums were perfect as well !\m/!
RIP Eric. They always had a crushing sound. Very unique band.
The best doom metal band of the universe!!
I came here because of a recommendation from YT and was so happy to see this video because im 54 and loved this band back in the day . now only to find out Eric just died .. Gonna have to burn a few and crank up some Trouble and shed a few tears .. RIP
Saw Trouble around Chicago countless times. From the Aragon to Interactions Lounge. Such a true heavy band. Miss those days. Good times.
Great memories of the Chicago rehearsal spots and watching them practice and write songs. All of it great...yet Troubles self-titled 1990 release is one of the best all-time metal/doom masterpieces. Ricky & Bruce such an underrated guitar duo...with a distinct, unique sound. R.I.P. Barry Stern and Eric Wagner...such cool brothers. Ricky & Bruce are still shredding to this day. Hails and Cheers mates!!
🔥🤘🔥
I am sooo! Proud to be from Chicago knowing that this band is one of the heaviest around drawing there power from the LORD!!! Long live Trouble forever!!!!!!!!!
R.I.P Eric Wagner !!! All the Sabbath community are mourning your legacy \m/
Came across this by accident and I'm glad I did. Massive double bass drum kit, Marshall stacks.... all the elements of a true metal band. The gritty basics from the beginning. Awesome!!
What a wonderful gem! Thank you.
Excelent band , doom
At its best , extremely underrated
Fuck yes
a lot of people misunderstand trouble. their christianity isnt a traditional one. its born out of the depths of hopelessness. It's all he has left in this world, i'm not christian but i think troubles lyrics are very human and altruistic.
They are well-known in the Doom scene. If you are new to the style and not familiar with them then I get it. But they're not underrated, let alone "extremely".
Well said and you are correct. Cheers from Ohio.. Im cranking this now ha, reading the comments. TROUBLE always. Peace
R.I.P. Eric Wagner. Another victim of this insidious virus. His was a truly unique voice and message.
Killed by invisible unicorns.
Eric Wagner is the answer to "what if Robert Plant did Doom?"
And I thought I was the only one who thought Eric Wagner sounded like him
I heard that Eric is actually right handed but was taught to play air guitar left handed
@@trowerz hahahahhahahaha
Great upload! Fantastic musicians from waaaay back when the music mattered. They were larger than life back then and in their prime. Incredible talent and such a solid unit. Eric Wagner's vocals are legendary and really defined the band. I grew up on the west side of Aurora, IL and saw them at Malo's alot as well as other venues around the Chicagoland area...always a great show.
Me too. I'm still here. I remember Eric coming to my buddy's basement playing pool. He was kind of a big deal at the time. Mid-80's ish. Great Band...Psalm 9 is a killer record!!! Brings back memories.
The fact that they were so underrated yet when they get in stage they rocked like they were on the bug screen.
I remember quite a few trips from Malos to their Labyrinth rehearsal space on the south side!! That was a great little bar, and Trouble were good friends for years!! Years later, my band ended up playing there with MadDag(formerly The Playge) and another band I can't remember the name of, but had a demo called "Disgruntled Postal Worker". We ended up at the same Labyrinth rehearsal hall on the south side, and partied with MadDog, Trouble, and had a blast!! Good times.
@@carlsimons6616 That is so cool. I wish we knew each other back then so we could go to shows. I used to frequent the Thirsty Whale in River Grove as well... legendary 👍
I was born in 1982! It's unbelievable to imagine that they were doing things like this at that time! I love Doon Metal...Damn sound
No better band for me..Was down with these homies from day #1..It was all Trouble and Witchfinder General in my youth..And i love them to this very day still..
RIP ERIC WAGNER LEGENDARY VOICE
Rest in Peace Eric Wagner
Excellent piece, one of the best bands of all time.
head banged to them many time in NYC back in the mid-late 80's, one my favorite all time bands, wish they were played on Sirius radio more...
OHH THANK YOU GOD FOR THIS BAND!!
AMEN!
Discovered these guys two days ago. They are just brilliant. I love they are doom, but not black Sabbath - master of reality - doom. It refreshing to hear a doom metal band that isn't sounding like British doom bands , and at the same time is not trying to emulate Black Sabbath. Too bad Eric Wagner had to pass away, so that I could hear about him and his band on the radio.
R.I.P Erick Wagner...Thanks for all
His voice will always be amazing no matter the quality of recording. Also always been a fan of his air guitaring at performances
So awesome!!!!!! Psalm 9 is a great album. Thank you so much for uploading this.
That's why i love CZcams!
Holy shit how have I been deprived of these guys for so long? I love everything about this video. I love their sincerity in the interview, I love the local news channel beat reporter doing her best to get them talking....
And I LOVE THE MUSIC!!
Like an outake from RIVERS EDGE
First, thank you very much for uplaoding this....from whatever vault you found it in, LOL. Thanks....seriously. This music was nice. Very fine to see the band doing its music in this early time and even though it was not the best scenario for the band....(interview, interviewer, etc.) it was overall, great. Good tunes. Brought back a lot of really good memories from a simpler, more pleasant day and time. \m/ \m/
Hail Trouble
Love,Peace,Freedom,Music and Art To The World !!! Salud y Vida Pa'lante !!! Cheers and Life On !!!
Sons of Black Sabbath. I love It!
Yet polar opposite with their lyrics. Trouble is/was better. ;)
thanks for the upload. when this vinyl album came out it just blew me away. the riffs and the deep drums by jeff! i couldn't get enough of it.
I gave away Trouble Psalm 9 and Witchfinder General Death Penalty albums to my bro's.They were hooked for life..The best drug ever. REAL MUSIC..Kept the Mint one's..lol..
I love the Troublelites since the first record..And All the projects that Eric Wagner did and Will do..LID,Blackfinger,The Skull..I Love This Music !!! Salud y Vida Pa'lante !!! Cheers and Life On !!!
I can't believe this is 1982.
I always considered Trouble as somewhat of a quasi-Christian group....and respect them for that......They were a big underground band til the end,so to speak, and I`ll always have a place for them in my collection............You are missed Eric........
totaly awesome, thanks for uploading, took me back to early days
Thanks a lot for placing this video here. This band is outstanding in many ways, didn't know them unil now (what a shame). Got a little bit of Sabbath but just enough to start their own style, guitars are doomy great and so is the excellent voice. I am impressed... but the interviewer is so cheesy conservative omg :D
I remember selling Bruce Kool cigs at the west plaza car wash. Never in a car. He always just walked up. Just a quite guy.
Brilliant riffs, love trouble
Wow this brings me back thank u so vary much for getting this stuff I am in awww thanks again
These guys should have been much much bigger 🤘
Easily one of the TOP 10 most metal bands EVER.
freakin' awesome.... thanks for the upload.
Thanks for uploading this! Truly historic
This lineup was something truly special. Rest in Peace Eric. The Wish was your ultimate triumph!
RIP Eric. Us at Ancient Days were so honored to play a show with you earlier this month. I’ll cherish the moment I got to have with Eric. Very kind.
It'a great that you have shared stage with him!
@@ventorctm yes indeed! He was very pleasant to talk to. Our band ancient Days shall continue to carry the torch!
These guys got me thru same very dark days and nights in the late ninties and now once again.
Thank you for posting this incredible video. You Rock🤘
Got to know some of these guys a bit...Totally down to earth and STILL rocking.
Wow. My first time hearing this. Extremely under rated band. Especially that early 80's guitar shredding.
Going to see them tomorrow night in Milwaukee! Doom legends!
So awesome 😎
That was great, thanks for posting it.
Wish this could have actually been live but still a great document of doom's forefathers.
This Joseph Palumbo dude knows what's up!
yeah the twin lead sound when only one lead was being played gave it away for good.
Psalm 9 and The Skull are often cited as the cornerstones of doom metal as well influencing other bands of the uprising metal movement during the mid-1980s. A famous story states that James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett from Metallica entered Trouble's stage after a concert, trying to figure out how their amplifiers were set to produce their unique sound.
Why do you idiots get on here and copy/paste wikipedia? Are you trying to make people think you know shit?
Fuck off.
Thunder of excellence proceeds relevance.
Thanks, amazing band...
That Tone!! Throw a humbucker in the Strat , Plug to Marshall Stack-Gain on 10!!
Don't forget D standard tuning and these guys used Tubescreamers and chorus for a boost.
@@timbuk1126 Source ?
@@damned1444 ok after doing some research i found out they used JMP 2203 amps with Boss Ge-7 eq and EHX Polychorus pedals.
Dimarzio super distortion pickups, cranked tube Marshall, chorus pedal. This combo will get you this tone.
Songs from my #1 album of all time. Has been since it came out! So heavy it's ridiculous.
Love “At the End of My Daze”... my favorite from them... Underrated for sure...!!!
R.I.P.Eric,my absolut best Doom metal Band ,my first Song uf the Metal massacre Album its sooo genial🤘🎸🤘🎸🤘🎸🤘
Cool video thanks for sharing it, at the time I was a disco kid until 84 when I was struck by rock.
So cool to see this !
Dude, this video is fuckin amazing!! Fantastic contribution!!!
rest in power
The GREATEST heavy metal band ever born on U.S. soil.
I imagine the lady asks Jeff what he has in terms of skill or playing ability and he just talks about the people that supported him in his life
1st track. 1st lp. Stunning
Bruce Franklin is during the second interview talking about his favourite song 'The Skull': "A new song that isn't on our album". Since their debut album was released in March 1984 (and 'The Skull' was released in March 1985), this can't be a show recorded in 1982, but it's more likely somewhere from 1984. Nevertheless an awesome upload, so many thanx! And rest in peace, Eric.
I see now that another guy already mentioned this a couple of years ago, so nevermind.
This video was taken from the bonus dvd included in the 2006 CD reissue of Psalm 9 by Escapi Music, and there it says that is from 82, maybe it was a label info mistake, who knows, i just posted the video with the same info included in the CD.
REST IN POWER ERIC WAGNER (1959-2022)
Also, Sean McAllister joined in 1983, and he is seen here playing with them and being interviewed. RIP Eric
Love watching these guys from back then, setting the bar of overall skill and style playing together; far higher than 99% of much more commercially successful bands between then and now could ever hope to attain.
I only got to see them once! 1992 Nov, in Vancouver! Was a great show!
wow,,,that was awesome
Forever in our hearts Eric wagner
Trouble absolutely killing it!!! It’s a shame they were so underrated.
I miss the 80s...
Love it Fucking Thank you 🙏 for posting this video😁
RIP Eric! What a great lyricist and band. I was fortunate enough to meet him as he actually produced our bands album! Funny, cool, intelligent, great human.
I don’t post this for any other reason than to demonstrate what a fantastic producer he was. He collaborated on this album lyrically and musically. Thank you Eric!

Tone. Execution. Energy. TROUBLE were the kings! 👑
Super Heavy..Psalm 9 album is a musical journey..Victim of the Insane song and Bastards will Pay are Epic ..
You gotta be kidding me !!! How are we watching this ?? (2 years apart) but still wtf hahaha omg bro
But this isn't Doom genre. Oh well the 80's were entertaining i guess.
HAHAHAHA😂😂!!! Yes my sister! Love it lol. Love Trouble! Hows it going out there? They went nuts the other day over by your neck of the woods huh? Haha. Hope you are ok out there! ❌❌❌❌❌❌
Lil Bro 👋 hahaha How ya been? Hows ya music coming along? I been just gravy 😂. Went nuts here? Don't let the media lie to ya bro hahaha. Ppl die here everyday, get murdered in 'peaceful ' protests, burn down buildings, riot and steal. Its been the new normal for about past 2 years. Nothin new😉 and yeah i guess i am out here, cause i sure as hell don't want in 😂😀🌀⚔💛
LEGEND ! RIP Eric. Victim of the Insane _ indeed.
Great band! I have a been a fan since the beginning. Back when they were a badass Heavy Metal band, before they were called Doom Metal. I miss those old days sometimes. At least we still have the music. It really is timeless
Why doom metal? They're singing the truth, and talking about God.
MasterS of DooM!!
Great band!!!💖
Best Christian Metal act ever...in 83 there was Anthrax Metallica Slayer and...Trouble.
I pulled this out for Robert Sweet as he was playing in a doom metal band called The Seventh Power.
Rest in Power Eric Wagner 🙏
I love their style and guitar sound and this singer is really good with a unique voice.
I saw trouble on headbangers ball back in the day that's how I got into them love them always have
Legends.
All these guys are geniuses on there instruments. Including Eric (RIP) with those vocal pipes. Everything just so fucking right. It's great. I love it!
Saw them opened up for Slayer in 1984 on the chemical warfare tour in San Francisco at the Stone!! Great band great time
A favorite! Psalm 9 was a seminal album
valeu por desenterrar este masterpiece cara!
I don't and won't mention names. But after a certain concert in a western state...they came and hung out at my house. Poor guys!
Wartell's lead....holy shit!
Who has more leads in their work ?
