I think that Osha is who he wants for an Acolyte not May. The bracer on his arm and his mask are made out of Cortosis. Its a mineral that temporarily shorts out lightsabers.
Yeah i realized it was a type of metal that could resist lightsaber like Beskar, I heard of Cortosis for the first time few years ago while planning SW:TOR, it’s nice they decided to use this old reference
