    Thanks for the info Tony. I would have never thought to texture the brow tine cutoffs. Sure will come in handy for an upcoming Bowie project I have in the works. 👍

    Thanks for the tip I really love antler handles. I just finished my first thru tang antler handle and I was having a medical emergency in the middle of trying to glue up. I was in such a hurry to get it done that I put the guard on upside down 😡 thanks for the tip I'm getting ready to do some more

    I use antlers for a different purposes than the general public. I remove the fiber's tissues to hollow the Antler So that I can wire the antler to light up the tips.

    Deer, elk and moose get that nice brown colour by rubbing their antlers on trees! In my area, alder is often their tree of choice, so if I want to darken some antlers, I rub them with a fresh piece of alder(bark on).

    • @TonySeverioKnives
      @TonySeverioKnives  Před měsícem +1

      I hear ya. However Adler is not in my area. I do this pretty quickly and efficiently on batches. But I say do whatever works. 🙂

      Yes all the time. Works the same way. Just keep adding coats until you are satisfied.

    This might be a silly question but are you able to use any type of horn for the handle material?

    • @TonySeverioKnives
      @TonySeverioKnives  Před 8 měsíci

      Pretty much. I have used so many kinds of horn and antler on knives it’s hard to list but basically all the same.
