I told my kid to fight back, let me handle the school administrators. He did and it stopped. He did not get reprimanded because apparently the teachers didn't give a darn in these physical situations. My kid was pushed to the ground on a daily basis in the lunch line. No one cared. He handled it himself with my permission.

Throughout my sophomore year of high school, I was constantly called mean names, and I was getting sick and tired of it. I told the principal about it, and yet, nothing really happened. Why can't schools actually take action instead of not doing anything? It makes me sick knowing that some kids get in trouble for defending themselves, and yet, when the bully does something wrong, the school does nothing about it. It makes me sick.
I went to private Catholic school. The kids would act like stuck up buttheads all the time. The teachers would discipline them and the kids didn't care.

I was bullied for six years every day constantly by two thirds of the class in elementary school(Not an exaggeration(They were the same people every time because there were only two separate French immersion classes)) in front of the teachers. After the first few times I told the teachers they stopped believing me. Because who would believe me saying that I was being bullied when everyone who the teachers asked if they witnessed me being bullied are the bullies. The principal also not caring about anyone who is not “normal” because: “I don’t have the time to deal with them” (Unless they make noise then they will be locked up in the equivalent of solitary confinement.) That added a lot to my stress levels. At least the years of almost considering suicide got me got me great French marks once I left French immersion and a metal for being good a speaking French. the way I can see it is, you can tell the teachers and the principle, but in the end, it is the kids themselves that have to make that design. I myself was bullied in middle school and told the teacher and nothing was done. I took matters into my own hands and started a fight with them. of course, the teacher then decides to come and get me off the kids but i kicked her ankle and pushed her ass on the floor.

You're not necessarily bullied for not having certain supplies or items, you get bullied for being different in some way, and it tends to get worse if you speak up about it.

I relate to Tyler. I was bullied alot in high school from grade 9 to 12. I have aspergers as well. I was bullied for being quiet and didnt have alot of friends. I struggled fitting in. The sad part is that I had some friends that talked bad about me. I am now 24 and all the bullying still haunts me still to this day and has left me scars but thankfully I was able to graduate from high school.

I've been bullied for 5 years since 1st grade, I've been teased, called names, hit, harrased, threatened, and worse And yet till now, I'm still alive, im still in one peice, and still in 1 mind. I've thought about suicide a bunch of times, many times... But I Didn't, it's called having sanity, and patience. I've lost sanity, I've lost patience, but I survived the harsh life, I even told my parents, and told the principal, nothing... I stood up to myself... Nothing... I just had to brace it, and ignore it. Im in 8th grade right now, and 98% of the bullying has stopped. RIP for all of the kids who had suffered bullying...

I used to be a bully. I still struggle with kicking mean habits now. I don't know who - if anyone - will ever read this, but here are my victims' stories, because they need to be told: I had two primary targets, one in elementary school and one in middle school. A guy I used to be best friends with would tag-team them. I was a cliche bully for the longest time: I was a mean jock that rolled with the popular kids. We would pick on them, especially on the target we moved on to in middle school. The first target we had was, at the time, a chubby shy kid. We would make fun of him, laugh at him, and run circles around him by the playground, poking fun at his weight by doing so, because he wouldn't be able to run and catch us. He was really only bullied by my former friend and I, to my remembrance. But the second target had a whole posse of popular kids on him... We were diabolical. The second target was a challenged boy, much like Tyler. He would exhibit socially incongruous behaviors. One example, which I secretly recorded and then shared around, was him cleaning and packing up for the day and singing "I like trains" over and over again to himself. He didn't want us to record him, and he made it known because he knew exactly what we were doing - he wasn't stupid. We would simply run away, roaring with laughter, before any teacher could think to stop us and force us to delete the recording or reprimand us... That wasn't the half of it. We would also hurl small items at him, make fun of him, lead him on to think he had a chance at being "cool" with and like us, only to (figuratively) dump him on his head. We would openly laugh at him, crack humiliating jokes, ridiculously imitate him behind his back, make it so that he had to actively look for a place to sit (we would save seats around us), trick him into doing "class chores", I mean the list goes on. We did this for THREE STRAIGHT YEARS - sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. Somewhere along the way from middle to high, I came to the realization that the friendships I had among the popular kids were superficial and unfulfilling. They were frankly boring, and I sought something deeper. I no longer felt I truly fit in there, so I simply left to hop into a new and better circle. I found my home with some nerds who I'd befriended in elementary school, when I'd first moved into the area in the third grade. They showed me what true friendship is. My heart grew a little. By our graduation, I couldn't stand the thought of the regret I'd feel if I didn't man up and own my torment of him. I asked him to sign my yearbook, and tried to hold back tears as I genuinely apologized to him, asking him to be friends. He forgave and befriended me without hesitation. Around this time, I would locate my first target on Instagram and would apologize to him as well. He accepted, but he'd moved, so while I follow him to this day, we never became friends. One day - during high school - I would suddenly run into him on the street in front of where I lived at the time. He called my name, which caught me off guard because it was the new name I'd decided to go by (I ditched all the names I went by in middle school). No one I didn't regularly hang out with remembered the new name, just one or two of the old ones. But he was different. It was at that moment that I realized how much of an impact I'd had on him. As far as I know, I am the only person who ever apologized to him. Later, he would switch from a rival school to the one I and most of the popular kids went to. Horrible rumors were spread about him. The bullying picked up again immediately, only it was much tamer and less direct: People would avoid him and ignore him, treating him as a nuisance when they couldn't and essentially pretending he was invisible when they could. I would always see him walking around alone. I would always make sure to say hi, to give him a high five or fist bump, to share something with him, like the art he posted online, chat with him now and again, and not fuel or engage in any demeaning activities against/towards him. He invited me to his birthday, which only had about three or four friends (including me) - the rest were family. It was a lame-ass party, honestly, (not my forte) but I just wanted to be there for him. I've moved away myself after high school, but we remain good acquaintances through Instagram. *_The point of sharing their stories is a couple of things. If you are/were a bully, it's never too late to say you're sorry. You don't realize how impactful one simple apology or act of kindness is to your victim(s). If you are being bullied or have been, just keep being yourself, and work to improve and fulfill yourself every day. Become successful your way, whether it is with an army behind you, a pinch of true friends at your side, or alone._* *10+ years later... RIP, Tyler.*

@@ricodsanchez6792 I 100% had severe anger issues that have since been worked on. Not gonna get into my childhood but I will say acting out like I did was to be expected. I was just a miserable, aggressive person. Also, I didn't really care about how I made them feel at the time. In fact, my friends and I relished in their pain, humiliation, etc as sick as it sounds. It was funny and just entertaining to us. It was just "haha, fucking weirdo, this is so funny, we're just teasing and provoking this loser". We didn't think about the consequences, and it didn't help that teachers didn't check us. :(

I was tormented for 8 years of grade school! I was stabbed with pencils. Books chairs smashed over my head. They face slammed me face first on a concrete sidwalk knocking out my front teeth. They beat me up daily once I came out of the school when i walked home. I'm 59 now and I remember all their names and faces to this day. Bullying stays with you a lifetime.

My daughter who is now an adult was bullied most of her school days. I took her to school and picked her up for lunch every day. And afterward school I picked her up. The office staff said I was babying her and she needed social interaction. The schools are blind to the affects bullying has on children. I fiercely protected her and ignored the office staff trying to get me to leave her at school. I could see by her eyes that she needed a hug and kind words. She refused to tell me what was going on saying I would only make it worse. It was heartbreaking.

I made my boys spill their guts if I knew there was an issue. Plus I had a relationship with my twin boys that they felt comfortable enough to tell me anything and everything. I was a horrible bully growing up. It makes my heart hurt so bad looking back on it. I have apologized to nearly every one of the people I bullied. Most have accepted my apology but a couple haven't, and I totally understand why. If I could go back in time and change one thing about my past it would be to not be a bully.
After school's over it gets better... 1. You don't have as many jerks concentrated in one place. 2. You aren't forced to be with them all day every day. 3. They usually have other things on their minds. If kids could just make it to the "other side" of hell school, life would improve. ☺

He did not get reprimanded because apparently the teachers didn't give a darn in these physical situations. My kid was pushed to the ground on a daily basis in the lunch line. No one cared. Throughout my sophomore year of high school, I was constantly called mean names, and I was getting sick and tired of it. I told the principal about it, and yet, nothing really happened. Why can't schools actually take action instead of not doing anything? It makes me sick knowing that some kids get in trouble for defending themselves, and yet, when the bully does something wrong, the school does nothing about it. It makes me sick.
I went to private Catholic school. The kids would act like stuck up buttheads all the time. The teachers would discipline them and the kids didn't care.

I was bullied for six years every day constantly by two thirds of the class in elementary school(Not an exaggeration(They were the same people every time because there were only two separate French immersion classes)) in front of the teachers. After the first few times I told the teachers they stopped believing me. Because who would believe me saying that I was being bullied when everyone who the teachers asked if they witnessed me being bullied are the bullies. The principal also not caring about anyone who is not “normal” because: “I don’t have the time to deal with them” (Unless they make noise then they will be locked up in the equivalent of solitary confinement.) That added a lot to my stress levels. At least the years of almost considering suicide got me got me great French marks once I left French immersion and a metal for being good a speaking French. Yay, go school system. ..-. ..- -.-. -.- / - .... . / ... -.-. .... --- --- .-.. / ... -.-- ... - . -- Put that through a Morse code translator.
the way I can see it is, you can tell the teachers and the principle, but in the end, it is the kids themselves that have to make that design. I myself was bullied in middle school and told the teacher and nothing was done. I took matters into my own hands and started a fight with them. of course, the teacher then decides to come and get me off the kids but i kicked her ankle and pushed her ass on the floor.

You're not necessarily bullied for not having certain supplies or items, you get bullied for being different in some way, and it tends to get worse if you speak up about it.
Your aren’t just bullied for that, I remember some girls that bullied another girl just for fun, the bully lied to everyone and told them she hated her and since she was the popular girl all the other girls hated her but since I was someone she liked and wanted to be friends with she told me the truth & just talked abt how fun it was and how easy it is. When I told her she shouldn’t do it she replied “I’m still a child, I’ll grow out of it or something”

If I was the principal of that school and if someone died at my school because of bullying, I would just suspend them for a whole year, and no refunds.

I relate to Tyler. I was bullied alot in high school from grade 9 to 12. I have aspergers as well. I was bullied for being quiet and didnt have alot of friends. I struggled fitting in. The sad part is that I had some friends that talked bad about me. I am now 24 and all the bullying still haunts me still to this day and has left me scars but thankfully I was able to graduate from high school.

As someone who has dealt with a lot of bullying, this infuriates me. A kid's life could've been saved if the school had their heads out of their asses. I feel for the poor parents who had to endure this.

That's a cold school. Not only did they not care that a child is being bullied, but they didn't seem to care after he died like he was nothing. Some schools need to get rid of all their staff and get some real educators in there that actually care about kids and their well being.

The roots of bullying usually come from issues at home. Child abuse, child neglect, all that awful shit can lead up to children taking out their anger on other human beings to feel powerful.

I used to be a bully. I still struggle with kicking mean habits now. I don't know who - if anyone - will ever read this, but here are my victims' stories, because they need to be told:
I had two primary targets, one in elementary school and one in middle school. A guy I used to be best friends with would tag-team them. I was a cliche bully for the longest time: I was a mean jock that rolled with the popular kids. We would pick on them, especially on the target we moved on to in middle school. The first target we had was, at the time, a chubby shy kid. We would make fun of him, laugh at him, and run circles around him by the playground, poking fun at his weight by doing so, because he wouldn't be able to run and catch us. He was really only bullied by my former friend and I, to my remembrance. But the second target had a whole posse of popular kids on him... We were diabolical.
The second target was a challenged boy, much like Tyler. He would exhibit socially incongruous behaviors. One example, which I secretly recorded and then shared around, was him cleaning and packing up for the day and singing "I like trains" over and over again to himself. He didn't want us to record him, and he made it known because he knew exactly what we were doing - he wasn't stupid. We would simply run away, roaring with laughter, before any teacher could think to stop us and force us to delete the recording or reprimand us... That wasn't the half of it. We would also hurl small items at him, make fun of him, lead him on to think he had a chance at being "cool" with and like us, only to (figuratively) dump him on his head. We would openly laugh at him, crack humiliating jokes, ridiculously imitate him behind his back, make it so that he had to actively look for a place to sit (we would save seats around us), trick him into doing "class chores", I mean the list goes on. We did this for THREE STRAIGHT YEARS - sixth, seventh, and eighth grade.
Somewhere along the way from middle to high, I came to the realization that the friendships I had among the popular kids were superficial and unfulfilling. They were frankly boring, and I sought something deeper. I no longer felt I truly fit in there, so I simply left to hop into a new and better circle. I found my home with some nerds who I'd befriended in elementary school, when I'd first moved into the area in the third grade. They showed me what true friendship is. My heart grew a little. By our graduation, I couldn't stand the thought of the regret I'd feel if I didn't man up and own my torment of him. I asked him to sign my yearbook, and tried to hold back tears as I genuinely apologized to him, asking him to be friends. He forgave and befriended me without hesitation. Around this time, I would locate my first target on Instagram and would apologize to him as well. He accepted, but he'd moved, so while I follow him to this day, we never became friends.
One day - during high school - I would suddenly run into him on the street in front of where I lived at the time. He called my name, which caught me off guard because it was the new name I'd decided to go by (I ditched all the names I went by in middle school). No one I didn't regularly hang out with remembered the new name, just one or two of the old ones. But he was different. It was at that moment that I realized how much of an impact I'd had on him. As far as I know, I am the only person who ever apologized to him. Later, he would switch from a rival school to the one I and most of the popular kids went to. Horrible rumors were spread about him. The bullying picked up again immediately, only it was much tamer and less direct: People would avoid him and ignore him, treating him as a nuisance when they couldn't and essentially pretending he was invisible when they could. I would always see him walking around alone. I would always make sure to say hi, to give him a high five or fist bump, to share something with him, like the art he posted online, chat with him now and again, and not fuel or engage in any demeaning activities against/towards him. He invited me to his birthday, which only had about three or four friends (including me) - the rest were family. It was a lame-ass party, honestly, (not my forte) but I just wanted to be there for him. I've moved away myself after high school, but we remain good acquaintances through Instagram.
*_The point of sharing their stories is a couple of things. If you are/were a bully, it's never too late to say you're sorry. You don't realize how impactful one simple apology or act of kindness is to your victim(s). If you are being bullied or have been, just keep being yourself, and work to improve and fulfill yourself every day. Become successful your way, whether it is with an army behind you, a pinch of true friends at your side, or alone._*

@@ricodsanchez6792 I 100% had severe anger issues that have since been worked on. Not gonna get into my childhood but I will say acting out like I did was to be expected. I was just a miserable, aggressive person.
Also, I didn't really care about how I made them feel at the time. In fact, my friends and I relished in their pain, humiliation, etc as sick as it sounds. It was funny and just entertaining to us. It was just "haha, fucking weirdo, this is so funny, we're just teasing and provoking this loser". We didn't think about the consequences, and it didn't help that teachers didn't check us. :(

When l was in 5. grade the teachers and the principals were allways reading a usuless speech and telling that "İf you are getting bullied tell us or your teacher or your parents." and there was a slut in my class bullying me physical and mentally everyday and l thought "Wait if l tell everyone about this they will somehow stop this." and l told everyone my parents, the principals, teachers and you know what they Absolutely nothing!! İn the end of the first year l was ready to hang myself and l was so sure about it but nobody litterally cared even the the owner of the school knew it but they did nothing. So what were all the speechs for?Thankfully the slut move to a different city l hope she died somehow if she didn't move to another city my death scenario would be like this: l bring a knife to school first kill the slut and after kill myself. The first two years were a living hell for me but l had a friend (She was just using me but it was nice to have a person near you.) and at the end l had more friends and getting rid of depression.

I was tormented for 8 years of grade school! I was stabbed with pencils. Books chairs smashed over my head. They face slammed me face first on a concrete sidwalk knocking out my front teeth. They beat me up daily once I came out of the school when i walked home. I'm 59 now and I remember all their names and faces to this day. Bullying stays with you a lifetime.

My daughter who is now an adult was bullied most of her school days. I took her to school and picked her up for lunch every day. And afterward school I picked her up. The office staff said I was babying her and she needed social interaction. The schools are blind to the affects bullying has on children. I fiercely protected her and ignored the office staff trying to get me to leave her at school. I could see by her eyes that she needed a hug and kind words. She refused to tell me what was going on saying I would only make it worse. It was heartbreaking.
Therese Ward, was your daughter an only child? Just curious. Also I would of made her tell me how she thought she was being bullied. You do not except a child's refusal to not tell you something. I made my boys spill their guts if I knew there was an issue. Plus I had a relationship with my twin boys that they felt comfortable enough to tell me anything and everything. That still exist today and my boys are almost 21, They can be a bit too open with me but I'd rather it be that way than they refuse to tell me anything.

I actually have a sister who had been bullied so much where it came to a point that the BOY who bullied her nearly choked her to death luckily recess was over and came alive. I’m still mad for what he had done to her. It went from being friends to all of a sudden being enemies. Punching kicking and like I said choking. I’m now in middle school and hoping that none of it happens in middle school nor high school.

This makes me sick to my stomach. Seeing that poor man weep for his lost son, whom was cut down every day by cowardice bullies. Their son was a hero, it takes a lot to take on every day knowing that you will be belittled and made fun of. Bullies are not tough, they are cowards who can only display strength in numbers.

I was a horrible bully growing up. It makes my heart hurt so bad looking back on it. I have apologized to nearly every one of the people I bullied. Most have accepted my apology but a couple haven't, and I totally understand why. If I could go back in time and change one thing about my past it would be to not be a bully.
I wish I could say it gets better after high school but adults can be just as cruel and uncaring.
