How China SHOCKED American Scientists By GREENING The Gobi Desert

  • The Gobi Desert is the world's fastest spreading desert. It takes over 2250 miles of grassland every year. The Great Green Wall of China is one of the largest reforestation projects in the world. There have been over 66 billion trees planted. It's been in an effort to right against the expansion of the Gobi Desert. The expansion of the desert devastates agricultural land and creates sandstorms that wreak havoc on the populations on its edge.
This "new" Great Wall of China isn't built with stones, mortar, and sand, but instead with trees. The enemy they are defending themselves from now, though, is desertification. A report shows that dry lands, including desert, cover over 40% of the Earth's total land area. China has been worrying about their desert expansion problem since the 1970's, now, they are taking charge by helping reforest the Gobi Desert.

The Gobi desert grows 1500 square miles a year not fifteen thousand square miles. That would be a lot of it were true. Keep putting out your videos and I'll keep watching. 👍

Sand storms are a real event. Ignorance is forming wrong ideas around this reality. Planting more native trees as a means to succession is a 1st step to greening the Gobi desert 🏜. Haste makes waste & no move is only a weak response to a growing problem.

The Mu desert is about or has disappeared due to their reforestation project of thei deserts. As of now they have reforested/regrassed deserts totalling an area bigger than new mexico, the 5th largest state. Even NASA acknowledges this as they can clearly see the deserts in China turning green. If you have to believe its a lie because this will make you feel better, then do so but it doesn't hide the fact that it is true.

Lack of soil for the roots, lack of minerals and nutrients for food and lack of water will simply kill off the vegetation again unless they constantly maintain it. If Mother Nature has failed, then trying to do it artificially will take a LOT of work, time and expense.

in the video they say something about 250mm/m2, which for example is about half of what Germany gets. So yes, it is not much, but if you plant local trees with low water needs, it should work.
And dont forget, trees generate rain, so in the long run this amount of rainfall should get even higher 😁👍
