I ride english at a western barn so I use a mounting block, trot poles and a bucket😂

Wow these are pretty cool i want to make some for my mare and i! I may switch for wood poles i dont know how i feel about the pvc but they look great!

Well done on your jumps, I have section off apart of my field. To make a school for the horses we have on there at the moment. To go and buy what you and your dad has made, will save us lots.
The wood cups work well I like them better then my metal ones idky 😂

If you are going to train a horse to jump, putting pool noodles or pvc pipe insulator covering on the pvc pipe will make them not shatter if the horse steps on it. It may tear the foam but it’s a lot safer than just plain pvc pipe!!!
i agree! i would probably prefer to use wood poles but for my dogs pvc is best. if the horses get too used to pvc, then they start to not lift their feet over the jump!

I wouldn't use pvc poles because they are light and the horses learn to put less effort in when they jump because it doesn't hurt when they hit it so when you take your horse out to a show or to your friends barn where there are wooden poles they end up hurt because they fall through it expecting light pvc.
I like to use pvc pipes over wood bc when I train my 4yro and my f he needed cos it over it will not hurt and just knocks down easy it’s also more easy to carry and will not hurt the horse as much as wood will but that is your opinion so this is mine
Keep in mind, these jumps are also for her dogs, not horses
yes! i have seen horses get to used to pvc but it can be good in some situations. these are for my dogs though and wood poles will work too!
On a horse jump the little holes do they represent 5cm?

i’m glad!! i just repainted them a couple days ago and the thin bottom stripe is 1in and the larger one is 2in.
You could even use a car if you wanted to. As long as the glass windows are punched out and there are wooden bedding on top of the roof, it shouldn’t be a problem.

I don't mean to be rude or anything but you should use pvc pipe as a jump rail. If your horse accidentally knocked the pipe than it would crack and splinter into your horses hoof
I did make these for my dogs, but yes I agree it could be dangerous for horses. If someone didn't want to use pvc they could use wood instead
