      Thanks so much Joe! I wrote Klein and asked them how they got that shot of the spine. I tried to get a thermal image like that but couldn't get it. If I figure it out I might make a video about it. In fact, this tool might appear in videos for a number of reasons such as finding an electrical hot spots. Have a great weekend!

    @Sparky Channel. Thanks Bill for another great product review . I also appreciate your thorough explanation on how to use and interpret thermal images. I've seen the Fluke ones used by techs but they're really expensive. I've got some homework to do on the differences between the various models and what to look for to meet my needs. Thanks again.
    Hope you and your family stay safe and well.

      Thanks! Yes, this one is at an excellent price point with excellent features. I used the Fluke at a trade show. It's very nice as well but it was about $2K. Have a great weekend and you guys stay safe as well!

    Sparky, thanks so much for this rundown. In your experience, does the Klein pick up anything onscreen when you are >3 feet out from the target?

    Would this tool locate radiant heat lines in a concrete floor? assuming starting up the system so you have warm lines in cool concrete.

    I bought it to try to use in looking for moisture in drywall from rainwater infiltration. It's pretty useless for this. Because you can't manually adjust the color range, the areas you want to look at are pretty difficult to visually see any difference in temperature. The range of colors ends up being way too high.

    • @ED-es2qv
      @ED-es2qv Před 2 lety

      They make moisture meters that measure surface moisture, and they make moisture meters that have spikes to read inside material.
      Ironically perhaps, but they don’t detect heat at all. They would be useless for finding insulation gaps or overloaded wires.
      I suggest buying a moisture meter to compliment your thermal camera, and use them for what they were designed.

    • @ED-es2qv
      @ED-es2qv Před 2 lety

      If you want to make your moisture show up as a heat difference, perhaps blowing a fan on it for ten minutes or so would create heat deltas from evaporating water. Of course the effects would only last until the surface dried.

      @@Sparky-2036 you need to create a convincing argument and use a brochure for a $3,000 unit. Then after he tells you that way too much, go “find” this one and it will sound cheap. I used to do that with bicycle parts and my wife. Show her $500 pedals for a while, then show her the ones on sale for only $150 that ends this week, and she thinks you saved money.
