ah yes, a long time ago, before 2016, I said the exact same thing, but then I grew up. Have patience with your son. If he's a decent person with morals and empathy, he'll learn before long.
Unfortunately, I think a lot of young adults believe the same way your son does. I was talking to one of my nephews a short while ago. Basically, he said it'll be the same no matter who wins. (Sigh) I hope he takes to heart what I told him about project 2025
You need to educate your son. Remind him how badly Roe v Wade being overturned has gone for many women and girls, and that's just the start of what they want to do to us.
@@maryford650 To be fair, when I first started voting, (I'm 56), I really thought my vote didn't matter so much. I voted Democrat because I believed more in their policies. But I didn't think it would make that much of a difference. All we can do is spread knowledge, they'll catch up

I hope we all know that it doesn't matter who is in the 'top job' because this is a systemic problem -- greed. We have allowed many of our economic sectors, to take advantage of the American people. It's disgusting and frightening for the future of our country.
I plan to retire at 62 in another country outside the US that is free, safe and very cheap with a high quality of life. I could fully just rely on only my SS if I wanted to when that times arrives but I'll also have at least one pension, a 403 (b) and a very prolific lnvestment account with my Abby Joseph Cohen my FA. Retiring comfortably in the US these days is almost impossible.
I know this FA, Abby Joseph Cohen Services but only by her reputation of being a former employee at Goldman Sachs; even though she's now involved in managing portfolios and providing investmnt guidance to clients. I have been trying to get in contact since I watched her interview on WSJ last month

Even if you don't care who POTUS is, you want to vote down ballot.. because of democrats in my state - medicaid was expanded to anyone earning less than $20,000 a year. The cutoff was half of that before. It may not be universal healthcare but it's a step towards it...
You still have to vote for the president, he appoints federal judges. This is the problem and why we r in the mess today cuz of the vote down the ballot and forget about the presidency cuz u don’t like the nominee. We can’t do that. We have to vote up and down the ballot.

The balance of the Senate is important because the senators can block nominees for judgeships.
McConnell blocked Obama appointments for numerous judgeships as well as Merrick Garland for SCOTUS.

I wish people thought about the Supreme Court back in 2016! The sad thing is I'm 40 now and since I got to be voting age a majority of my peers were really apathetic and hardly any of them voted. As much as I think the entire system is completely rotten, I still think it's important to vote because otherwise we get fascism and a supreme court with zero term limits.

I’m voting prior to November 5th. If your area offers mail in ballots complete it the minute you receive it. If your area offers early voting, please vote early. For the elderly and others who must wait in line to vote take healthy snacks that provide energy. Check voter registrations often. Some states purge voter rolls. If you move upstate your address and voter registration. As you have seen democracy is on the line.

The monopoly capitalism economic system and corporations as persons with various constitutional rights (civil liberties) are the two most urgent matters. The zenith of concern is that these person-corporations can't be considered American citizens. Thus, We the (Actual) People are contending with non-human, non-citizen "persons" who can legally "donate" limitless amounts of money towards monopoly-capitalism-based elections, as their First Amendment rights to "free speech" empower them to do so.
The only politician out there that has even come close to attempting to address these issues is Bernie Sanders - which the corporatocracy is not allowing us to vote for anyways.
