The infant car seat base should be installed with either the "vehicle seat belt system" or the "universal anchor system." The infant carrier seat belt harness is used to secure the child. I'll attach one of my other videos from the channel that shows seat belt vs. latch below.

Hello! Thanks for the video. I have a question. Do I have to attach the car seat using the universal lashes and the seat belt as well? Or Do I have to use just one?
Great question. It is not recommended to use both the seat belt and uas together. Try both methods and use only the one that secures the seat best.

At the bottom of my carrier, I have a gray strap that’s just dangling. What do I do with that?
Hi, if you're referring to the strap dangling from the infant carrier. That strap is used to tighten and loosen the harness every time you put your child in and out . I hope this is helpful.
Hi great video but if this is the safemax infant only carrier, you do not have to lock the seatbelt after you have used the lockoff. its a true lock off so there is no need.

How do you adjust the recliner?
Hi, that's a great question. Try to locate the triangular knob on the top side of the base. Turn and hold it in a counterclockwise direction to release the locking mechanism so that you can select the appropriate adjustment. Once you've achieved your desired height, release the knob and ensure it locks into its respective slot. Also, try to get the seat to recline to 45 degrees to help protect your child in the event of an unexpected collision. If you have any further questions or requests, don't hesitate to ask. I have a seat cover and my base keeps moving side to side even with pressure on it…. is this normal?
Some car seat covers promote slippage. In those cases, I would recommend not to use it. I hope this is helpful.

Totally normal, my son comes flying out of his car seat when we hit a bump about once a week. Make sure you have the window next to the seat rolled up so they don’t fly out of the window and they’ll be fine 👍
DO NOT USE THE SEAT. That is not normal. Please refer to your owners manual to make sure you installed it correctly before you continue to use it, and use my videos as a guide. If you need any additional help or have any questions, please let me know.

How do I take the seat off? Without the base?
Great question! On the backside of the infant carrier near the top. Locate the handle and fully squeeze and hold to release the lock while lifting the seat straight up off the base. It's a question that is often asked. Please consider subscribing to help grow my channel 🙏
