@@Novotny72 I wait till steak is on special offer then mince my own. The only thing I put in my burgers is onion and seasoning, nothing else, put them in the burger press and they're good to go either in the pan or in the freezer. This is the way Americans make them. No need for breadcrumbs or a binder (usually egg). I also make my own sausages, or at least I did until my Kenwood Chef blew the seal. It'll have to go back to Kenwood to be overhauled and repaired - it has a hard life. My adult son and I have got making burgers and sausages down to a fine art - teamwork. Good fun too and they're delicious, far better than you'll ever buy and no chemical rubbish in them either.

@@Novotny72 You can get 20% fat mince for £2.49 but this must be quite a bit less, more like 12% fat. That's more like £8 per kilo. I always make my own burgers and I usually use 20% fat mince and fry them but you're not comparing like for like.

All of the frozen Cathedral City stuff is produced by Iceland stores, they are just using the Cathedral City brand name under license. Cathedral City themselves only produce cheese. I believe they license the brand name for a range of fresh food as well with a different retailer.
Like Iceland sell frozen TGI Fridays branded products produced exclusively for Iceland, Tesco sell refrigerated and ambient TGI Fridays branded products under license, but none of these things are produced by TGI Fridays themselves.
Iceland stores have basically found a way of selling cheap frozen crap by obtaining licenses from well known brands and selling said cheap frozen crap at premium prices. Hence Iceland sell TGI Fridays. Greggs. Cathedral City. Harry Ramsden's, and the other takeaway brands in the frozen sector. Most of it is made in Poland or China, which is why its cheap to produce. A value added proposition I think the term is.

They are literally the only thing made by the brand on the box though. Harry Ramsden are the worst of all of them - absolutely NOTHING in common with the brand and taste nothing like it. Even the curry sauce tastes completely different.

When Lidl started with Cathedral City their cheese was comparable. But now you can be sure that anything that has their cheese in it ? then it will cost an arm and a leg.
    Basically it's a gimmick.
I have to admit that I do like Stilton or Danish Blue on my burgers. But that's just me.
However, 2 quid per burger is a bit steep for my liking. By the time you put in the price of the buns, lettuce, tomato, pickled gherkin and sauce, then throw in some chips ? your looking at nearer 3 quid a burger.
    A great review as always m8. 👍👍.

Hi Gareth, I didn’t think the price was to bad considering the burgers are thick but for me personally I didn’t think they looked very appealing Sorry Gareth but thanks for a good review as always all the best Lin 👍

Surely the 69% is including the cheese sauce and the cheese, so doesn't represent beef content exactly. I'm not doing the maths on it, but it would work out higher that 69%. Nice review 😆

Looks tasty Gareth but pricey for 3 and amount of beef content. Don’t know if you’ve tried the Aldi wagu pack of two burgers very nice 😋

Lumps of beef with expensive cheese thrown on😮 6 quid! Omg major shafting by cathedral City! I'm sure they're lovely but there is cheaper equivalents out there! 😁

It's Iceland that's behind these branded products. They are a complete rip off. Iceland is one of the most expensive supermarkets out there.

@@TheGamesEmporium When I am hungover I alway have my cheese at the ready. I will take chunks off through the day. So the salt benefits me in some way. I do drink a lot of water as well.

Makes a change for you to approve of a Cathedral City product as the last few you didn’t rate !
These are still expensive for 3 burgers though.

HOW MUCH!!! £6.00 of the new Kings Pounds. So for a family of four, you'd have to pay for 2pks £12.00 Then. Add the buns, any salad, onions, sauce. Take the family out for a slap up meal in a local 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟restaurant. Another belter of a video. Allan&Family

2quid per burger isnt the worst price but 69% 'beef' isnt great, they count on the fact that theres a big thick bit of extra mature cheddar to cover the burger itself, but wev seen worse. cheers for the review g man
