    I love how your videos are always clear and thoroughly planned out yet don't sound scripted. I especially appreciate how you plan and prepare the pages you're going to show and don't flip-flip-flip back and forth throughout your videos. Although not in this video in particular, your trick of photocopying planner pages to use in your videos is genius. Thank you so much for all the obvious care you put toward each of your productions; your channel really stands out in that regard.

      Thank you so much for taking the time to write a detailed and kind comment, Pat! It is especially helpful because now I know what to continue doing. Just a quick question: Is there anything you feel I should stop doing or I should start doing so that I can improve my videos? Knowing that will help me produce even better videos! =)

    • @hueypju
      @hueypju Před 6 lety +4

      Stop doing? = nothing. I am drawn to your channel for its clarity, usefulness, and organization. If you change any of that, I will cry.
      Start doing? = As an introvert, I'm sensitive to invading the privacy of others, but I have to admit that I enjoy hearing about other people's challenges with respect to time management, goal attainment (no problem with goal *setting* here, but achievement...umm...), prioritizing tasks and projects, finding time to recharge, etc. I do think you occasionally mention those things (= another thing I wouldn't want you to change), but if you're ever having a bad hair/messy house/humongous laundry pile/filthy car/bad handwriting day and feel like sharing, I say, carry on! (Your hands always look perfect BTW.)

    I love how you share actual examples instead of just an empty page with your intentions of how to use the page. I don't know if your examples are real, but some of your entries are hilarious! Thank you for well thought out content.

      Thank you so much for your constant encouragement and support--it really means a great deal to me. Every time I put out a video, I'm always unsure of the reception it'd receive... it's a nerve-wrecking experience sometimes! So it helps if I get some feedback on what my viewers like or don't like so I can tailor my efforts accordingly! =D Thank you!

    Your videos are concise, thoughtful/well executed and adult! I am so excited to have found real guidance in using some of these tools that I own. No childish covers, bows or pages covered with stickers & washi tape and I don't see anything that says "girl boss"(yippee)....I can simply learn what you have to teach without silly distractions. The work involved with putting this information out here is greatly appreciated, thank you!!!

    Except for when I was in school (because I had a lot to keep track of every day) in general I have a really hard time keeping a planner consistently, I’m not particularly busy or scheduled these days but your videos give me so many ideas and inspiration I love it.

    • @yukikosakamura6498

      I'm super glad these videos have provided you some ideas! I think the bullet journal would be very suitable for you. It's super flexible. You use it when you have many things going, and don't use it when there's nothing much going! =D There is some set up required but if you use it as it was originally designed, the set up would be minimal. But as I've mentioned to other commenters before, bullet journaling (for me) is more like a philosophy so you can try to apply this philosophy to any other kind of planners as well =D

    This is great. I’m trying a multiple planner system this year, so I am going to use those old pages as a “ planner planner “ like you suggested.

    • @yukikosakamura6498
      @yukikosakamura6498  Před 6 lety

      Haha, I can't claim credit for that planner planner idea. It comes from Heather Kell! I'm so excited to know how you're setting up your multiple planner system. As you know, I have a (more or less) single planner system and transiting to a multiple planner system is a bit daunting for me. Would love to know how you set up that multi-planner system! =)

    I found that although I loved the Cousin in 2016, I didn't use the original in 2017 (yet I am trying the original for 2018 as well). I decided that I am going to use the 2017 original for my "deep journal" (that is, when I write about things that are not related to my day to day life -- things that are not date related at all such as how I see myself, my Myers-Briggs Personality type, my relationships over time, etc).

    • @yukikosakamura6498
      @yukikosakamura6498  Před 6 lety

      Oooh, a deep journal sounds good! But how come you're not using a Cousin in 2018 if you liked it in 2016?

    • @MacMoonie
      @MacMoonie Před 6 lety

      I tried the Cousin in 2016, but felt that sometimes the size was too much and I was wasting space. So this year I tried the Original, but didn't use it at all for most of the year. But when time came to get another, I decided to stay with the Original, because for most of 2018 I will be on maternity leave, and I was sure that I wouldn't have enough to record to get a Cousin.

      @yukikosakamura6498  Před 6 lety

      Congratulations on your pregnancy! You must be so excited! Hehe, well... I don't know... You might need a Cousin to record down all those baby milestones =P Just kidding, just kidding! I hope the Original works out well for you!

      I went on leave at the end of August, I'm off until the end of September. It was being sick/tired all year that kept me from using the Hobonichi last year, so I hope I have fixed that problem this year.

    Love your videos and ideas on planner/Hobonichi’s uses. I journal in unused pages if I need more pages I note at end of page where I am continuing journal page and so forth. I use both A5 &A6 this way, I need a page to doodle I go to next blank page for doodles. Also to do some pen testing of new pens or colored pencils. Sometimes I collage a page, I hope to use up all my books and Hobo’s. I would love to find or see you do video on combing work/personal planning as I have life changing situation which requires me to combine work and person to keep on top of commitments? I get so many good ideas from you and plan to review your prior videos to help me.

    • @yukikosakamura6498
      @yukikosakamura6498  Před 6 lety

      I love the way you use up your pages in your books and Hobos, especially what you do when there are used pages in between the unused pages. On work-personal planner... To be honest, I'm actually not sure if I have an actual system in place to combine work and personal planning. (Maybe I have, I'm just not aware of my system?) Let me take some time to think about it and get back to you! =)

      @yukikosakamura6498  Před 6 lety +1

      Thank you so much for your kind words. Unfortunately, I do not actually know how I managed to develop my handwriting skills. I think that it is probably because I spent a lot of my time in school writing and rewriting my notes slowly. I also look at other people's handwriting style and if I like elements of it, I incorporate them into my own... So my handwriting evolves all the time. I guess, the key is to practice, practice, and practice!

    I really enjoy ALL of your videos. I am desperate to find an regular ink pen (not fountain pen) that will NOT smear with a highlighter - I have lots of Mildliners, I've even tried colored pencils - they all smear even when left to dry overnight. Thank you so much for your valuable input. Signed, Frustrated and I want to make this Hobonichi Cousin work for me. :)

    • @yukikosakamura6498
      @yukikosakamura6498  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi Terresa, I think ballpoint pens might not smear. Try with the jetstream that comes with the Hobonichi purchase. Otherwise, I think try a fineliner, like the Staedtler Triplus Fineliner or the Sakura Microns. Let me know if either work for you!

    What do you think about the 5 years Hobonichi?

    • @yukikosakamura6498
      @yukikosakamura6498  Před 6 lety

      Glad you enjoyed the video! I'm sorry to say that I didn't get the 5-year techo because I don't think I am able to commit to a single book for 5 years. Also, I couldn't think of what I'd use the 5-year techo for... Plus Hobonichi products are really pricey... Haha. I've used up my 2018 budget for planners already =P Can't get anymore.

  • @silvioadriancastrosuriano8471

    HI!!! congrats on your videos!! I Have a question or maybe a guidance request. I have 2 things, an outdated (2014) Hobo A6 and a deep feeling of guilt just because I just doodle on the first 2 pages and then use another planner (i think I was too picky to use a Hobo and not to be the PERFECT layout). Now I will like to use this in 2018 but I'm unhappy with those wasted pages. So I will like to re-print the 2 or 3 pages that I doodle on it to use properly. Besides this do you have any recommendations on how to re-date using an efficient method? I mean I will like to use a conventional way to re-arrange the sequence of days.
    I'm guessing I will try to mix GTD and Bujo on A6 format using a minimal handwriting with no art... no decoration... no colors... only black allowed. As per the GTD system, I'm working on the idea to grab 7 index cards printed with Hobo Layout on a craft pocket (inbox) with labels to use as a marker. Each index card with the day (Mon to Fri) plus a "To-Do" and "On Going" as a free list. You consolidate the day as is finishing and on Saturday, migrate the result of the week, do the revision and create another set (the past set can be stored as log).
    Ok my question is.. can you think of some easy to remember rule or trick to rearrange the date from 2014 to 2018?
    The best for you..!!!

      Hello! Since you only used two pages of the Original, I would print the dot grid pages for the Original from the Hobonichi download city and paste over the first two pages. Here is the link: www.1101.com/store/techo/ja/download/?device=pc#detail-1-dot. Choose the first blue button under the words オリジナル用. That way, you do not need to re-date the pages. Do you think that would work? I would try to avoid re-dating... It seems like it would be too messy and effortful.

    What pen do you use in your Hobonichi? It doesn't appear to bleed through or shadow on the other side of the page too much. Thanks in advance for your reply!

    • @yukikosakamura6498
      @yukikosakamura6498  Před 6 lety

      Hello Krista! Tobichi, Hobonichi's store in Tokyo, sells all the Hobonichi merchandise. Loft sells the Cousin, Original, Weeks (limited designs) and the 5 year techo (i think!) as well as selected covers. Tokyu Hands sells the Weeks (limited designs), but I don't think it sells the Cousin or the Original. Finally, I've seen Hobonichi Weeks in Itoya, but only one or two designs. Hope this helps!
