Man, even though I'm not physically in the room, I could _feel_ the bass from that subwoofer. Impressive sound work from BLI.

Maybe just me, but does the ditch light flashing look asymmetric? The right (when viewing the front of the loco) looks faster, like the dwell time at full brightness is much shorter. ESU also gets the flash wrong (both lights drop to 50% brightness when starting to flash, then alternate)

Did the smoke only go at one rate or does it pick up when the engine goes faster?

How was/is the coupler height? The ones I had the couplers hung low and would tend to uncouple.

Do you build the whole layout yourself.or does someone else do it as you build the cars and engines

James, these locos may look "good" on the outside but the inside aka the decoder there not the sound quality of Mth, Athearn with TCS, PS3, Esu, Soundtraxx etc etc I own an old run of an Mth and it runs solid no problems you don't have to mess with Broadways smoke unit which in my opinion is stupid that function is worthless in my opinion it's horrible on the steam locos too not a favorite but anyways. Mth and Scaletrains make the best Es44ac pick one up and they're definitely worth your money and time not Broadway Limited at least in my opinion. Athearn's are ok but they really make the best EMD SD70aces not necessarily the Gevos. Best of luck to you sir- Joshua Smith

I think the details of this locomotive are fantastic. However the sound just doesn't sound very good. My main complaint is speed matching it with other locomotives is very difficult.

Did you get the Great Northern from Broadway limited cuz I because I bought that engine but it was a great northern and it had ditch wipes that blink in a smoke unit and it was from Broadway limited

I love your reviews, always very well done. I don’t like these locomotives only because I feel like there is too much frame showing. GE’s don’t sit that high. To me, it looks like a dash 9 on an SD70ACe frame. The steps sit way too high off the rails, too. Looks fake.

As someone who works for a RR and is on a GEVO 99% of the time. The steps on these units are actually pretty high up. EMD look higher cause they have fewer steps. They are actually pretty accurate models.

Wish NS would just have nose headlights on their GE/EMD widebodies.... the roof head lights are ugly
