acaster somehow has the energy of a dumb school boy and a wise old man at the same time
True lol.
Oi Muse
Muscle museum > anything else in showbiz
His voice makes me imagine he's a young boy doing his best impression of Michael Caine as a comedian.
He simplifies big concepts down to the level of stupid schoolboy
James breaking after Ed calls him an idiot is the best and most wholesome part of that video 😂
2:40 if ya want a timestamp :>
Knowing that Ed James and Nish are all friends watching them messing around together in this context is so funny, it's like schoolboys who aren't allowed to sit next to each other in class but still take over the conversation cracking jokes from across the room
yellow curtains it has the same energy as Dara and Ed
The show isn't as funny since Frankie etc left but it's an easier watch. Maybe it was because everyone like Russell Howard etc were always desperate to get their jokes in, but things seem mute relaxed now.
Oh jesus christ nothing is ever as funny since Frankie left.
Anyone would think he was john fucking Lennon and not some unamusing gobshite who went "pedo!" every time someone handed him a mike.
@@peterclarke7240 Yeah I prefer it now. It's much less stressful whereas in the old ones you can tell they were all desperate to squeeze in their jokes.
Yeah! I’ve seen them all in hypothetical all together too, and it was hilarious!
The "chatterbox" line was fantastic.
True. Rhys is very underrated.
Snitches get stitches!
Absolutely!!! 😅😅😅
I don't really understand it. To be honest I laughed anyway because it was Rhys that made the joke, but can somebody please explain it?
@@emmarie_1061 The joke is that if you do something bad (murder) and someone else knows about it, and they tell others about it, you don't say "hey you promised not to tell" (chatterbox - which means someone who talks too much) if you want to pretend you're innocent. It gives the game away.
I love how much Ed laughs at James
You should check out their podcast!
Jake Giles-Phillips Seconding this! Off Menu is absolutely hilarious. I just started listening a couple days ago and it’s great.
@@tylerburney8576 Where do I find this podcast?
@@TheGreatPresenter i listen on Acast (perfect coincidence) but I'm sure it's available on apple/itunes whatever it is now
Jaquie Fallon Spotify if you’ve got it, best podcast ever
the way he rarely laughs at anyone else makes him so powerful lmao
He loved Rhys' line though.
2:53
James' eyebrow flex lets you know he's got something.
I’ve never before heard the words “you f-ing idiot” said with so much love 🤣
"he came to life bc he was possessed by a demon" I never laughed so dam hard in my life I love this guy's randomness lol
In many ways James is like a young Bob Mortimer.
He just says and does whatever pops into his head.
Love, Love, Love them both.
It's a shame so little of it is funny.
Frank Hovis blasphemy
@@frankhovis its a shame no one can tell how many downvotes your comment has.
@@frankhovis Somehow, everyone hating on Acaster is called Frank. What has James ever done to the Franks to make them so fucking crotchety? Perhaps we'll learn one day - probably in a long-winded anecdote.
We need a split screen of Nish and Ed's reactions as James is telling the joke
His version of the bible would be brilliant though.
Read by him as well
@@RatelHBadger Each time it would be slightly different.
That's a 'Books On Tape' I'd definitely buy... :)
@@ultrademigod Just like the actual Bible.
There once was a little princess and his name was Jesus.
The way Ed laughs at James when he's being his Acaster best always makes me especially happy.
Dara's "we've all learned an important lesson" killed me. Like "glad that it is over" but with comedic intent. Nish piling on and Dara trying to control the situation is just perfect
Definitely teacher trying to calm unruly students vibes.
I will never forgive Dara for stopping the bible according to Acaster - for sure pure gold
I need a "Never trust a puppet" t-shirt.
i'd actually wear that t-shirt as well :)
Having James, Ed and Nish on the same panel is just cheating isn’t it. Your guaranteed a quality show.
Don't forget Rhys
"You fucking idiot." was a perfect response to James' absurd analogy. 😂
Reminded me of ‘is it a boulder, or is it a big rock’
LET HIM TELL THE BIBLE DARA
I bet plenty of people would love to go back to the fish finger days.
No, i'm glad he didnt turn out to be a buffoon -- he's running the fucking country -- it's great he's manned up!! (someone deleted the comment relevant to this
I know people always go on about the good ol'days with Frankie Boyle, but I also thought James Acaster really owned it while he was on and it disappointed me a lot to find he's not doing it anymore. I wish he'd stayed on like a team captain opposite Hugh or something
James, Nish, and Ed have such wonderful chemistry
So does anthrax.
Now I want to hear James Acaster's versions of the rest of Disney's fairy tales.
"Never trust a puppet"
James is brilliant!
"...we've all learned an important lesson there" lol
One of my favourite acaster clips. Seen nearly everything he’s done and I can’t help but love this one
In the beginning.... carry on James I wanna hear.
Nish and Ed are James' biggest fans and I love that so much!
I love how Ed just enjoys being around James and his batshit
Ed's "You fuckin idiot..." was largely him saying "I hate that you made me crack up that hard with such ease."
He's talking about Lord Buckethead like he's never heard of Vermin Supreme...
I would honestly read a giant novel about James acasters takes on classic stories that have a lesson at the end like Pinocchio
"You fucking idiot"
Made him break character
Their friendship is so wholesome!
Am I the only one that first thought the joke had just a random punchline, but then realised that it is meaningful (never have confidence in people whom you are in control of for now)
OMG Nish is a genius! I would LOVE to hear Acaster's version of the Bible!
“It’s not the look you want in a spy”
True, but the FBI doesn't have spies. Dara was confusing the FBI and the CIA.
You know James has done well when the others react like that. 🤣
Ed losing his shit at James is fantastic
In James' defense, the original Pinocchio stories weren't exactly wholesome family entertainment to begin with.
I definitely thought Pinocchio's legs grew instead of his nose in James's version of the story
James is not a national treasue, he's an international treasure! 💪❤️
whenever james says "let me tell you a story" you know its going to be one of the funniest things youve ever heard
I too want to hear James’s version of the bible.
Ed gambles laugh is everything
This clip is so good... not just the fantastic Pinocchio bit, but the 'chatterbox' and 'sex friends' jokes!
The bi aesthetic in the background let's you know what kind of atmosphere this show has
Guillermo Del Toro in 2022: *furiously taking notes*
I need a series of James just making up his own versions of famous stories 😂
James is one of my favs on any panel show.
What a great way to start the New Year - thanks Mockers.
"You f@#'ing idiot". LMAO
Now, I decided that it would be a good time to take a swig of coke just as James started to describe Pinocchio...I have never expelled coke from nose before but 'he came to life because he was possessed by a demon' just got to me
I love it when James tells fables and stories. Any of you heard of the fable of the goose and the sloth?
Dude im QUITE stoned and that story was the best shit I've heard all week - I fucking love Acaster
I miss this show so much it hurts! This was my go to show to learn about the world in a funny way!
You really can tell how good of friends Ed and James are just with the way Ed says "You fucking idiot"
James getting called a "fucking idiot" and then laughing so hard he has to hide his face is so fucking funny lmao!
1:55
I feel like James finds Rhys' brand of comedy particularly interesting hahaha
Please upload any and every clip where James and Ed were on together
That's brightened up my morning
love Hugh and James Acaster :D
“In the beginning was the word.”
“But since there was nobody there to write it down, we’ll never know what it was. Amen.”
In an ironic twist, Rhys, Americans look at British politics and say, “How badass are those Brits? They’ve got a crazy politician with a pail on his head eating a breaded fish stick and all we’ve got is the ex-head of the FBI going up against POTUS.”
@@troublishone americans also dont have a sense of humour lmao
@@zombi2896 Americans tend to have no grasp of anything outside the borders of their state, or at least the US.
I'm usually amazing by the absolute lack of knowledge about the world, and yet they send their armies anywhere...
Sure thing is that they knew how much oil there was to find in Iraq.
tbh I'd take lord buckethead over trump any day
@@bigchumbo6489 I prefer Count binface (he was originally lord bucket head but lost the rights to the name).
@Jim Elliott oh no im american I got Donald trump :(
You know you're funny when you make other comiedians breakdown laughing
"in the beginning" .. I lost it
My guilty pleasure. We love men that can make us laugh 🥰
This entire clip is hilarious
I appreciate that they took the effort to blur out when Hugh's flipped the bird using only his ear
James very funny guy
I'm a Christian and I WANT to hear James's version of the Bible. 🤣
*Happy New Year*
Wise words, James, wise words. With that level of wisdom comes great responsibility.
I couldn't breathe during the story. 🤣
Not religious but if James were to release an audio book of his version of the Bible I would love that more than those goddamn peaches
James Acaster needs to come to America. Particularly Austin,Tx and do some shows
Love Rhys James. Genuinely funny, as opposed to just silly.
I don't know what I was expecting, but I was not disappointed
😂Fuckin' funny!🤣
Maybe during this lockdown James could do a recording of his version of, just, all the stories!
i'd like that as well, a book, or a podcast, something, it'd bring us all a smile i think
One of their funniest clips
Actual title content appears at 1:59
“You fucking idiot” has never been said with so much humour before. 🤣
ok, but let's hear James' version of everything
This clip always makes me laugh.
Mock The Week are too funny!
Do another one! Do another one!
Not many people can make the room fall apart like that lol
2:41 Best part of the clip. :-D
You know shits about to go down when he does his eyebrow flex
I, too, want to hear James Acaster's version of The Bible!
I’m pretty sure James was drunk 😆
Funniest clip of James Acaster ❤
"You Fucking Idiot!" that was perfect! 😂
“I wanna hear James’ version of the Bible! 🤣🤣🤣
If I ever had a little boy, i would want him to be James Acaster. It would make life worth living
I'm still desperately waiting to hear James's version of the Bible.
