I love this setup, but Akai could do a lot more to make the Plus seamlessly map with the MPC. Those knobs should map to qlinks out of the box. The transport controls should work.

Especially since they're both made by Akai, seems like a complete blunder/oversight to not make them work together more seamlessly.
@@cardbored_it's crazy, and if i knew it was so busted, I would've stuck with my keystep. Mini Plus has deeper ableton integration than mpc standalone ffs.

my standalone setup. its fun and vocals come out pretty decent for on the fly work.
mcp live 1 (i don't got money for the upgrade)
Casio Wk-1630 (from 2002 radioshack catalog)
yamaha mg06 mixer (found at thrift shop)
AKG p220 (changed sensor and added capacitor)
TC Helicon C1 (so ppl can "tpain" if they want to.)

See they work together, but I hate that it's not seamless for things like the transport or knobs. Most people would think Akai+Akai hardware should be ready to go. You gotta midi learn and find the right CC's. The pads work as they should and don't feel cheap. I think I used the mini plus like 3 times since I got it. Didn't need it. I got the Novation launchkey 25, Arturia micro freak as well. I use my Fantom 6, but they don't got a mini version of that lol.

This reminds me to check if the MPC Studio 1 drivers have caught up to MacOS (whatever it is now) yet. No problems using it on my windows machines, but my gaming laptop needs a power plug most of the time.

Your process is very similar to mine. I do my chord progressions and melodies 1st, then I add the drums. Nice beat!

the mpc one is a powerful piece of gear, it's the closest thing to a mini mpc x buttons included. The live is necessary if you don't wanna be tied to the desk, the rest is a matter of preference

This is really dope. What stand are you using for the MPC? Also, would this setup work with the Komplete Kontrol M32?
I don’t know if this is too late but yeah it works with the m32 or any other keyboard I believe. Just you need to check what controls /knobs/pads you want to map and use in case.

So pretty much you can hook your NPC to live with your motive XF7 USB so pretty much is the same thing as a 61 key in PC correct
