I saw The Who when I was 21, in 1989 in Raleigh. It was the first rock concert I went to where the band had a horn section as well as backup singers. I immediately realized this only added to their sound and energy after my initial skepticism. They have consistently chosen awesome musicians and singers to join them. Long live The Who!
I'm pretty sure I was at that show, it was outdoors. It wasn't really The Who, but more like The Who Review, you know, very professional but no longer dangerous like in the old days.
THE WHO THE GREATEST LIVE ROCK BAND EVER AND EVER WILL BE THANK GOD WE'VE STILL GOT PETE AND ROGER BLESS YOU KEITH AND JOHN WE MISS YOU BOTH AND ALWAY'S WILL DO MY FRIEND'S LONG LIVE ROCK.
Due to their hearing problems, they do more of an unplugged show. Their hearing can no longer tolerate screaming guitars. Fir guts in their 70's it is pretty good. I hope to be playing at that age. In my band we have a 75 year old vocalist, 69 year old bassist and I am 61 on drums. Keep on rocking in the free world.
Not sure, I believe he was looking at abused children , he said he was looking at the abuse out of compassion and was unaware or at least didn't consider the legal implication . I believe he is a good guy , not a perv.
He's not deaf: he has tinnitus. His hearing improved partially because of operations as well as playing in front of that plexiglass shield. Rock musicians are far more likely to use in ear monitors than stage monitors these days.
@@hfhifi6878 You mentioned operations and the only thing I came up with was a LONG break from touring, where his tinnitus seemed to get somewhat better. He's been wearing hearing aids for ages, along with Roger doing the same. As for those plexiglass panels, they are fairly common when trying to keep stage volume low, which is another reason to use in-ear monitors or local monitors instead of the typical wedge monitors. They also make life easier for the guy running the mixing board, because there's less sound bleeding between the various mics on stage.
I will always love The Who. I'd love to see the remaining members of Jefferson Airplane play together one more time for the hell of it, Grace included. And I agree with you, too. 🙂🙂🙂
The plastic surgery is always a drag. I live in Los Angeles, land of the cat face people. Saw the who with the clash at Shea stadium. These guys are more like the corpse. Same crap with Springsteen and Dead and company. Pretty cringe. Nostalgia is a multi billion dollar industry.
In the entertainment industry -- you always end up finding out which performers made financial plans for the future......and which ones need to use fans as a financial bailout.
@@richardcoreno in entertainment, it's probably more about the dozens of support staff who are not old enough to retire. Think about how many personal assistants, managers, tour organizers, etc who are on payroll because these guys get a million bucks a show. Even some kid has a job as an usher at venue because these guys keep working. Think about the wasted real estate before someone got the idea to put rock N roll in stadiums! It's all good.
I saw the Who,when I was 14 years old 1965.Nothing like them.Still the energy and the excitement.
These two guys are amazing! Amazing!

That’s a good way of putting it! I would have loved to see them maybe in the early 70s. @@robertkees6048

I always like from THE WHO they were away from the classic 60ths sound...that's why they sound fresh .. 50 years after!
Sunlight in a very dark world.
who music got me through some dark days as a teenager ... long live rock
Was there too! Lovely performance!
Sweet. Pete and Roger shouldkeep performing. The Who ended when Moon died.
It was on life support after Moon, it truly died when we lost Entwhistle.
Nice Everly Brothers Gibson! as for the band...............................tired comes to mind
you might not be able fart without a nappy at their age so respect your elders ...
Maximum Rhythm & Blues 🎯
Sounds like they went Country.
Oh, dear.
Pete & Keith in their Late years. Not the WHO. FO.

Oh dear this is so pedestrian, plodding and lacks drive energy and spark
Let's see how much drive, energy and spark you have at 80! 🤡
The 22nd march is tomorrow... This was the 20th march! 😊
Thank you
Future view?
Wasn’t Townshend on the sex offenders register for 5 years in 2003 ?

We will have to agree to disagree then.
Keanu Reeves on keyboards
What's that several vertical towers behind Pete? Speakers?
probably extra monitor mix because Pete is profoundly deaf these days.

Roger getting around pretty damn good for 80!
Grace Slick was right.

Lucky!
Who cares ‘bout age when Roger and Pete are on stage?
20th March...
Thank You
Not sure what I'm listening to as the audio is pretty bad.
No fees? wtf
I think it's because this is a charity show.
I see..didn't know that@@jesseross6029
😀@@jesseross6029
it was a joke
keith always and always missing ......
Entwistle as well.
@@thegoldendog7991 Damn, you're right !!
Sounds like some band trying to sing and play 2 WHO songs.

You just dont get it.
Hey, at least they are not the house band at some joint in Vegas these days!

Townsend, who as we know, wrote 99% of the songs,so gets all the royalties,so Daltrys income, other than he’s fish farm, earns from touring.
I've always liked The Who but I think they should retire now as they're murdering their own songs.
Hope i die before i get old..............😂
