    You are so right, bro. I have a GVM 300S and 200D. The tilt adjustment parts were destroyed in the second project they participated in. I couldn't blame gaffer or grips at all, because I know those parts are really fragile and plastic. Just ordered 650B. Hope this problem has been solved. It is a huge deal to me.

    I'm not so sure about the quality of the 650B. There are some elements that could be better. Like head cable is to short and tend to unplug (same for the power cable - easily unplug). Some edges are really sharp. Ballast is really light what means that power supply is not that great.
    The price is the only good thing about this light.
    My unit seems to underperform in terms of output.

    bruh, I dig your channel. Im subscribed and I watch all your content but this title is thirsty. I tune in to see you work, that helps me as a solo operator. I don't tune in to see you pimp gear. "the last film light you will ever need"....until you need color...until you need to battle the sun...

    • @Alexzarfatifilms
      @Alexzarfatifilms  Před 10 měsíci

      I appreciate you following and keeping up with the channel. Maybe the title could be a little bit of a stretch, but that doesn’t change the way I feel about this light.
      It is extremely powerful and it has a ton of features, as for color all you would have to do to achieve a color tone you’re looking for is add gels .
      As for battling the sun, this light is definitely capable of doing that. However, it’s not as powerful as an aperture 1200 but it’s definitely up there and I think for the price this is one of the best lights I have ever used.
      I see what you’re saying, and I think that you do have a point, and I’m glad that there are people like yourself that will leave real honest comments but I think pimping out gear is a stretch.
      Yes, GVM sent me this light but in no way am I lying or pimping out this gear I honestly think that this is a huge win for filmmakers All over the world not just because GVM released this light but because they’re making aperture now compete for a lower price because GVM just cut their 600 X in half with this price tag.
      The truth is man is that these titles and thumbnails have to get clicks. Otherwise we don’t get views, and if we don’t get views, we can’t continue to produce the contact that we want to produce and give to the community for free.
      This is the world that we live in. I wish I got paid to make these videos all day long but the truth is I don’t and believe it or not everybody’s got a bill to pay so if I have to make a video title a little over the top to get a few more views, and boost the channel so we can continue to make this content , I think that’s a necessary evil don’t you?

    • @RadTwin
      @RadTwin Před 10 měsíci +1

      Yea I don’t agree with you saying pimping gear. We watch this channel to learn and this light being showcased is teaching us very valuable tips for lighting along with his promotion of a product.

    What would you pair this light with as a DP on a budget? Preferably on the $500-ish end.

    • @Alexzarfatifilms
      @Alexzarfatifilms  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Thank you, brother, in regards to pairing. What do you mean? Like an additional light or like a light modifier?

    • @ianreels
      @ianreels Před 10 měsíci +1

      Generally, additional lighting-for composing a set that doesn't feel or look sourcey. I know brighter is better but if you're tight on a budget for a second reliable light, what would be your pick?

    • @Alexzarfatifilms
      @Alexzarfatifilms  Před 10 měsíci

      @ianreels I think aperture lights are the standard however you’re paying more for the quality materials and the name so if you’re really on a budget to be 100% honest with you these GVM pro series I’m really impressed with and they come at a pretty low cost. I would look at the GVM 300 B or even the 400 B.

    • @Alexzarfatifilms
      @Alexzarfatifilms  Před 10 měsíci

      @ianreels I also use Feelworld lights and they’re not bad but they’re made with cheap materials so I can’t vouch for how long they’re gonna last. But in my experience, they’ve definitely help me get the job done and for the price I think they’re hard to beat.

    • @ianreels
      @ianreels Před 10 měsíci +1

      Thank you so much for these Alex! I'll take a closer look in the GVM lineup. I'm not familiar with the brand but if someone like you is rocking it. Then it must be good!
      I'm currently stuck with GODOX SL200W & SL60II BI. Looking to upgrade my lighting game real soon, but man.. they're expensive af lmao. Thanks again for these man! 🙌🏻🤍

    On B&H Key Features it written as :
    For Video Production & Vlogging , . Same or less watt Aputure lights & other lights Key Features : For Film, Broadcast and Video Production. That means there is something missing , these GVM lights are not made for Professonal Filmmakers ? then why is it called as PRO ?

    • @Alexzarfatifilms
      @Alexzarfatifilms  Před 10 měsíci

      Most of the time I never have to put the light above 10% when I’m lighting for interviews however, in situations where I need to use ND filters and stop the camera way down to properly expose for sunlight that’s when you need the power of this light

  • @heroaomedia
    @heroaomedia Před 10 měsíci +2

    I know each brand does its own testing - wish B&H would do it... so this light 21000 Lux but the Forza 500B is 67000. Why is it so low?

    • @Alexzarfatifilms
      @Alexzarfatifilms  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I think a lot of companies inflate their numbers because I’ve used the Forza 500 B and there’s no way that that light is three times as bright as this one.
      And like I said, in the video this light, in particular, I have never had to go to 100% in any situation I’ve been in so far.
      I do want to test lighting outdoors, and see if this can handle bottling, the sun light, but from my experience, this light seems to be plenty bright

    • @johnnyweissmuller5838
      @johnnyweissmuller5838 Před 10 měsíci +1

      those lux numbers dont mean anything when comparing lights, it is just inflated by different beam angles to create really bright hotspots, the watt number is a way better measurement to compare light output. Modern LED lights should just differ around max 5-10% in light output between brands in the same wattage. This light is actually rated at 81700 lux at 1m.

    • @heroaomedia
      @heroaomedia Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@johnnyweissmuller5838 for daylight, watts work as a good indicator but bi-color and RGB is where that doesn't work as well. For example, Aputure's bi-color has about half the output compared to the daylight but Nanlux's tech puts theirs closer to 25%. I have no idea what GVM's is.

    • @johnnyweissmuller5838
      @johnnyweissmuller5838 Před 10 měsíci

      @@heroaomedia Not really, bicolor just has led 2 transmitters/arrays. They share the wattage 50/50. But the difference can be that one used 2700K/6500K LED combination and another used 2800K/7500K combinations. But each LED array will have 50% output and the 100% output is in the middle of the range. Differ ence can also appear with the blending element/diffusor of the output lens. It can cut some output if you have a more diffused blending lens for example. For a bicolor you should generally account for 50% of useable output to a same watt daycolor only light.

      @@PeacefulMoments1844 As for me I went with the Aputure 600x Pro's mainly because I own and operate a rental house. So all my gear is the Pro line mainly because the pro stuff is more durable etc. But, if you're an indy guy or just starting out and only you basically handles your gear. You can get the lesser brand equipment.
