  • In this video I review and compare the 991-series gen 1 (991.1) Coupe Carrera 2 3.4 7-speed PDK and a Convertible Carrera S 3.8 litre 7-speed Manual. Both are rear wheel drive, with a different suite of tasteful options. They are also different colours, Deep Black Pearl with extended Black Leather and Pure White with Extended Carrera Red Natural Leather. I drive both cars and compare both side by side parked at the premises.

If you're on the move you don't have to hold the button to open the roof in the cabriolet... Just click it once. You have to hold it only if you're standing still or at low speed.

You're a good looking fellow and I don't mind the camera angle pointed towards the driver seat when you're speaking on car specs, however adding an angle towards the road would add a level of immersion to the video that is currently missing. Also the viewer has no indication as to what the panoramic sunroof looks like from the cabin. Great video and tons of information that you provide from memory which is impressive!

    I flipped my Boxster 25 for a new 992 GTS C4
The creaking of the convertible roof and the constant noise was what did it.
    I have a coupe not a cab 911 now.
    Do the 911 cab’s creak ?
Even the dealer told me they do …
But can’t hear much in your review

What is the driving difference between 3,4 and 3.8??? as there is almost £10k difference in price for same year cars

Hi Raj, more torque low down, similar sound but a bit more burbling and overrun sounds on the 3.8. More power basically through the rev range, but the 3.4 is also great and by no means underpowered or soulless. Thanks, Raj

Love the ducktail on the cabriolet, where you get it from?

Thanks! It was fitted from the factory, was the Porsche OEM ducktail option, part of the factory aerokit suite. Cheers, Raj

Is it not 350PS vs 400PS?

That's my understanding. Maybe that's in the US but not UK? Just a guess.
