A city where you can sleep with your front door and windows open and go on holiday for 3 weeks without asking your neighbours to watch your house and nothing will ever happen to you. As a Londoner, I’d like to inform peeps that *buying* and renting are different, a lot of peeps I know tend to rent because it’s a lot cheaper (still quite a lot), even people with quite a lot of money (like 2500 just for rent) still tend to rent because if you buy a house for that much it’s probably quite bad.
Edit: buying is usually *a lot* more expensive, like you can rent a house for about 2500 a month (still quite a lot just for a house) which if you bought it it could go to over a million depending where it is in London (different parts of London means different prices)
Edit 2: by ‘buying is more expensive’ I mean upfront most people don’t have the money for a house, after a while renting will cost more, however not everyone can afford to buy and so though renting in the long term costs more, it is seen as the more achievable option. A bit like clothes in a way, most people will only be able to afford low quality that only lasts a year or so as opposed to higher-longer lasting quality because its easier to buy a bad coat that’ll make it through the winter than it is to make an upfront payment
