Ha! Demon Headmaster. I knew I recognised him, but couldn't think where from! Also a young Billie Mitchell (Eastenders) as the shell-suit clad crim.

There was a total missed opportunity to say “this man is not guilty of murder, this man is only guilty of being Gordon W. Brittas.” But the ending was heartwarming in its way. Series 3 is great so far.

That leisure centre actually exists and is in use today but not in witbury Newtown, it's in ringwood

I was lucky enough to be going to Ringwood Comprehensive School (visible in some shots) in 1995 when the show was still being made, and used to watch the filming during lunch break. Good times ;-) The centre still looks the same now, aside from the fake foyer at the front entrance that was only there during filming.

By the third series which aired in 1993, The Brittas Empire had very high audience ratings, and the budget was increased, allowing for a lot more special effects. 1993 to 1994 was probably the peak of the show. The writers/creators wanted to end it at Christmas 1994, but the BBC continued with it until 1997, and it showed its weakness then.
