Sailing Elliott 6m WMR Gold Final - Australia v Spain Full Replay from the Weymouth and Portland at the London 2012 Olympic Games. - 11 August 2012
Sailing was first contested as an Olympic sport at the 1900 Paris Games. Since then, the classes of boats allowed to compete have continually evolved to reflect advances in yacht design and technology. Equipment advances over the past 20 years have created a trend towards smaller and lighter craft, placing ever greater demands on both the athletic and technical capacities of the sailors.

One of my favourite Olympic moments. Olivia was just so impressive, checkers or wreckers, absolutely!
Wow! That's some gutsy sailing! Some of the best of the best!
Good memories! I was there on the Dutch Tug! Of course we hoped to see our own team there, but ESP and AUS gave us a very good show!

This is why match racing should be brought back in LA.
This was riveting!! Fabulous sailing from both teams.
Only three quarters the way through watching and I have heard the announcer say "Unceremoniously" at least 4 X. I can't believe I'm having so much fun watching an olympics from 8 years ago, but I only got back into sailing about 6 years ago. Go Girls!
Great contest, great sea(wo)manship
Excellent

i have no idea as to why the Aussies tacked under after the second start they should have tacked on top in my opinion.
Gracias.
Hasta en la victoria hay que lamentarse... Costumbres!
Time warp 7 years ahead: if girl sailors like these gals went on to rule the world, we would all be happier than evaa.

ÂĄ Viva Blas de Lezo!
Peter Lester goes on about Price sitting to leeward wich leads to the chinese gybe, but she's sitting to windward when it happens which is why she falls out...
Was going to say the same thing! Riding the wave her and crew were all on the windward side!
Full replay? Not.
Love the duct tape on the skip's thigh
For what this category is only for female?
Probably because men are bulkier and stronger and more aggressive so its more fair to keep them separate.
Its kept seperate because the men have the star class, which is a keelboat as well
Because men, naturally, can sail bigger boats
