Trucker protests: Demonstrators block Alberta highway near busy US border crossing

- Dozens of trucks and other vehicles began arriving on Saturday at southern Alberta’s Coutts border crossing.
Protesters gathered amid the large trucker convoy reaching Ottawa, demonstrating against mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations and other health measures.
An RCMP traffic advisory remained in place Sunday for Highway 4, south of Lethbridge to the Canada-Montana border. The advisory was issued Saturday when protestors fighting COVID-19 restrictions clogged up the road at the Coutts crossing. Traffic was backed up about two kilometres early Sunday afternoon.

The gentleman, Gurmit Gall (we have been told), was donating money and food to the freedom convoy trucks and shaking their hands. Global news twisted his words and edited a segment which he di not say and entirely out of the context.
To those confused- as an American I've watched cities razed to the ground, families ruined when their buisnesses were destroyed and looted, and people KILLED by rioters, all while being told that it's really just a block party, that it's peaceful or at least mostly peaceful. These protests are awesome, they get the point across with essentially a workers strike. This is safe than any televised protest that the US has seen in years

There are thousands of trucks, even if they left willingly which i doubt very much seing as peoples lives and livelihoods are on the line, it would take days or weeks to remove the ones willing to leave from those who are not. There are not enough towtrucks, police or bull horns to effect the removal you speak of. Also, i think you are projecting a bit when you say that the truckers would leave if threatened with arrest. They are there BECAUSE they were threatened with the removal of their freedoms.
@@alekk2320 All they really have to do is winch or push them into the ditch to reopen the crossing. It really wouldn’t take that long. If they really want to get vindictive and don’t care about damaging them they could just bring in a bulldozer and push them aside. The RCMP don’t exactly have a reputation for dismantling the wet’suet’en blockades with kid gloves. I think that last CGL blockade in BC was torn apart by officers wielding axes and chainsaws.
