Excellent! I was after something like this, super useful, thank you.
Great job thank you. Really looking forward to part 2!
Thx. I was really waiting for good video on VR settings in Ac.
Best settings for Quest 2 I've found so far. Thanks
Great video! extremely clear and helpful
thank you so much for sharing this TIPS! I was having a very bad VR expierence untill I followed your settings, so much fun to drive in VR now. Looking forward for the Shaders setups.
Just the video i was looking for, thanks
Thank you very helpful 👏👏 I've subscribed and liked
Wow! whenever I come back to your channel you have an extra 1k subbies. Well done bro. Great content
Thanks Brother this video made me get my rift back out and start using it again!! Great video!
Awesome Denis! AC in VR is so much fun!!! although it does make me feel a bit sick on some tracks! lol
Thanks for the help man
Another wonderful video spats!
Great video, loved it
I love how it looks so real 😊
Great video buddy!
Well sir you deserve a medal.. seriously I got an i5 8500 with gigabyte gtx 980 g1 bought the cv1 last week wouldn't run assetto at all just bugged tge hell out.. found your video and its running sweet as a nut straight out the box even managed to up the world details. A friend has followed in my craziness with same gpu has same issues so sent him this video this morning his is now running sweet as a nut too... thank you for the simple straight forward tutorial absolutely top marks now off to L.A Canyons with my buddy for a blast
ur video worked i struggled to get ac in vr but now i can finally play
Wow, matched these settings apart from Sol and it looks so much better. Pixels buzzing through the screen door. Thanks!... Now to figure out Dirt Rally.
legend! my fps went from 49fps to 79fps with these settings, glad theres a guide as non the settings make any sense to me
I’ve learned through a recommendation somewhere that you should turn on the AA in Nvidia settings and off in content manager, gave me a much clearer view on my G2 with a 3080.
Doing a great job
Can't imagine driving AC without VR.
I feel the same way. I really like racing games but the immersion and depth perception is just too good. If rather play on the lowest settings in VR than maxed out on a monitor at this point. I appreciateim quite fortunate though.
@@treemium1467 you can make your own vr box and install some app search on youtube like uhh vridge download and setup hope it helps
@@verxil1446 If u can afford a wheel setup, u can afford a vr lol
Worked pretty good for me.
Hey u have a litltle problem, when i play assetoo in VR my vr headset is fine but ly laptop screen is black but i would like to record my screen, do you have a solution for me ?
Wow - checked "lock camera...", had no idea the difference it would make. Thanks!
Hi! Thanks for the video!
Question…do I change the resolution to my headsets resolution?
Good video. Do you have any content on navigating Content manager and races in VR with a wheel. I haven't figured out a good way to go through menus with my headset on. After I each race I have to grav my index control and navigate that way rather than being able to use the DPad on my wheel.
I don't have all those post-processing options you are picking from like sol-. Where do you get them?
My car setting are screwed up and can’t seem to fix it. It looks magnified, and when I try to center the view it center about 20 degrees left of center and to get it to center I must look left about 20 degrees then reset view to center. Any help is greatly appreciated
Got to imagine that AC must be the business in VR
It's sweet. More importantly, it runs better than some other sim racing games in VR.
Its the deciding factor for me getting into VR, i was waiting for a well optimized AAA title, and vr headset prices to come down to bearable levels. Say what you will about FB datamining, $300 is an awesome cost to get into vr
@@jonesy_grows It is a great price point if you don't mind facebook. Gotta say though, moving to a G2 is another level of clarity for VR racing.
spent so long looking at how to fix the pixel roads and buildings, it was just the rendering distance SMH. Thank you sir for your help
Hi, when I play in vr the scale is off..the car seems really big inside, for example when I drive the 458 the wheel looks enormous feels like I'm driving a monster truck..I can't find anything online on how to fix this
Thanks for such a detailed settings guide, I got quest2, so the question is did you launch the AC through the steamVR or just Quest library? Do I need to match the custom resolution in the CM with the steamVR's resolution? I'm new to AC and VR, those things are so confusing...
if you go through CM, go to settings and click assetto corsa settings, in there you will find a video tab and you click on it, and where you see "single screen" (it might be something else, the options are "single screen" "triple screen" "oculus rift" and "openVR") and you want to click oculus rift. it should load up in your headset and you're ready to drive.
Thanks for the magnyfefunkulater
how do you show this setting menu with oculus rift? I'm experiencing double vision on right lens on Oculus rift. The problem only happens with assetto corsa. ACCompetizione works fine and all other games.
I’m going to check out your sittings and I’ll let you know 🤔
great video , is part 2 out yet
yea very important to get the max consistent fps in VR
Thanks for wonderful video, what's the ETA for part two?
Hi,
I've a big problem...
I redownloaded assetto corsa and the oculus software to get my game back in order except now I can't see my mouse cursor/yellow dot when I'm in VR. I don't know what happened.
Man, I did according to your tutorial, the graphic was very beautiful, but when you make the curves, it's like dragging the image and another thing, the car audio stopped working, it only works in the menu, what to do?
Hi Sir Spats. Great video as always. You mention you were going to do a VR Settings for CSP "in the next few days"; did that ever happen, as I am really keen to find out what I do and don't need to try and get to that magical 90 fps?!
How do I get to that setting table, I only see option for 4 things and none lead to that
Do you made a video for csp settings in VR ?
You use shaders for Vr?? I have 3070 card and not are sure how config assetto.
Does anyone know how to get the UI to scale back. It is WAY to close in VR?
I have an Oculus Quest 2 so would I still do Oculus Rift or OpenVR
mine crashes at least 40% of the time i try to play. between oculus/steamvr/content manager form virtual desktop screen all trying to handshake it just 'breaks' all the time- usually get an error sound and have to restart steamvr frequently. anyone else get this frequent game crashing? also sometimes if i hit a wall or even steer aggressively the ffb will go... limp (like a switch had been flicked) and not feel like its working at all. ...i reboot and try again. at least 4/10 attempts to get into the car and moving fail, but i persevere coz this game is so fun in vr. (i would try cutting out CM but then i lose half the mapping options for vr, along with a hundred other things...) advice appreciated.
I have just upgraded my rig to 3080 and have all setting max out, I am able to get 90fps during a day race in most of the track but got hammered down to 50 at night race.
Hi! Thanks for the video, bit late to the table here but I’ve set up vr etc and set all like you’ve said, but it’s making no difference to the in game. Any ideas? Do I have to move any files at all?
Hey Chris, I'm having exactly the same issue on a Quest 2. I've gone from max settings to min settings (essentially) but my FPS is literally unchanged and tbh the quality in-game appears to be the same. It's like the changes are taking. Did you make any headway?
@@GrumpyStoic @Chris Parry You will have to disable the ASW on the oculus Debug tool and it should work fine. Sorry if I am too late with this. You can find videos on how to locate the Debug tool
Just a to clear it up for new to VR folks. Which I am. It's not just displaying it twice it is also rendering it twice. Thats where the hit it. Two eyeballs see two separate images.
Not sure if you can help me on this one but; the game runs fine for about 5 mins and I then get 99% CPU warning which just ruins the whole experience. Really annoying, anyway to work around this?
How would this work with a quest 2?
I keep getting theater screen I can play every thing else vr like Boneworks what am I doing wrong?
Will this work using ur phone as a vr on pc. Yes I use phone im to poor to get a vr
my ac looks very different do i have a wrong version or some
for me the roads and everything is so much brighter when im in the car, when i lean my head out it dims down to normal brightness can i fix this?
Maybe I should try the game without shadows on. But I hate the look of the game without proper shadows. I seem to get a very decent performance and I have ASW set to auto if I don't get the full frame rate. I set my fullscreen resolution to 1920x1080. In VR the text are bigger and easier to read even though the display is set for VR. But text is still read at the resolution that was set in fullscreen mode. My world detail is set to maximum and shadow resolution is 512x512. But I will try it off to see how that performs by your recommendation. I'm using a PP Filter called Natural Mod base which makes things look clean and crisp without all the blooming or that wet eyes look that you get after swimming for a while. Depth of field is off shimmering and sunrays are also off for me. Perhaps its preference not sure if they effect performance much. I do have FXAA on. I use a Nvidia card and it seems to work well and make the image look smooth and clean on top of 4xMSAA. Mirror resolution is 256x1024 with high quality. Smoke is minimum with smoke in mirrors, Reflection is 512x512 at one face per frame. No Super Sampling. I find the resolution and the anti aliasing of MSAA and FXAA coupled gives me a nice sharp and decent image. So I have Pixel per display set to 1 which is default. My VR headset is a Oculus/Lenovo Rift S.
I'd turn of the x16 Anistropic filtering in AC and set it to x16 in the nvidia control panel if you have a geforce card, nividia's control panel seems to handle the anistropic filtering a lot beter than AC does in game can drop your shadows to 256x256, same with the refections and if you set the projection to static you'll get a couple of fps from that (every frame counts in VR). Using Natural Mod filter can squeezed another 3-5fps in VR over other filters too as it's optimised really well too.I found in my experience running AC in windowed mode helped too I can run a i7 with a 2070super at around 70-80fps with 25 cars around le mans with my quest 2 at 1.3ss in the oculus tool and 120% in steam. If I use CSP's preview rainFX my FPS tank to about 35 but it's to be expected and is still pretty smooth.
@@theoldgitwatgames4640 Thank you for the tip. I'll try with lower resolution on both shadow and reflections and I set Aniso to 16x at the Nvidia control panel. Off in the AC software manager.
@@greattantrum523 hopefully it will help give you a few extra frames. I keep shadows on because of the cars looking like they float on the road if it's off. I have pretty much everything on maximum except smoke, and that's on medium and on in the mirrors. Sometimes the cars you are racing can impact on your frames per second too if they're not optimised well as well as the size of the grid too. If you run Sol 2 you will need to adjust your cloud distance, quality and and render per frame too as that will suck up a lot of frames.
@@theoldgitwatgames4640 great response! I will also try these settings tomorrow. Do apply SS only in Oculus tool and keep SS in game to 1?
@@ashish5rai Best to experiment I think as a lot of things changed with update 28. I'd use the Pixel density tool in the oculus desktop app to start with and adjust there first until the performance is where you want it.
Looking for part 2 of this was it done??
What is this software? I mean where are those settings available?
Hello it’s me, professor Brian Cox
maybe update this? :)
CM has a lot more settings. also i saw someone mention set AA to off and use nvidia AA
I balance settings to get 40fps and let spacewarp and timewarp do their thing. 80 would be great but I like not having the game look like it’s running on a PS1!
how to set the height in VR mode ?
THIS!!
where does one find these settings? in AC?
Hello Bro! Could you upload your VR settings for CM and share link please💪😁
Do you have a Rift...or a Quest 2?
when in VR mode how to press start?
Everyone praises AC for it's VR graphics and I don't understand why. I have a HP Reverb (G1), an RTX3090 and it looks crap. As ACC is my main game, I was looking for something where I could drive some laps on the Nordschleife. It would be nice if it wasn't for the barriers - the "shimmering effect" they cause makes it unplayable for me (also random test subjects that I've introduced to AC and ACC on my setup complained about AC, describing that the barrier edges "flicker"). I just can't focus on what's in front of me because of this effect, especially if I move my head slightly. I have "Anistropic filtering" set to x16 and "Antialiasing - transparency" to x8 in the nvidia control panel which helps a bit, but not much. I also upped the pixel density to 150%. To make things worse - those settings work fine on most tracks but not the Norschleife, where I struggle to get 90FPS. Yesterday I discovered AMS2 and damn, after disabling Antialiasing completely and setting pixel density in steam VR to 200% it's a dream, and keeps 90FPS easily on the Ring (frame times around 8ms). Has someone any ideas what I am doing wrong? AC's content and physics are nice and all, it also looks great on screen with sol and csp but this shimmering in VR makes it unplayable.
@@hman1873 Turning down the world details and setting the LOD bias to 1 (I had 3 previously), reduces shimmering but at the same time the barriers look like someone would stretch a low quality texture (well that's exactly what a higher LOD bias does). The white text on the Nordschleife also is completely pixelated. Not that I want to read it anyway, but the stretched and blurry textures look like from a 90's video game. In the end it is less disturbing than the extreme shimmering, but it's a compromise nonetheless and AMS2 offers far superior VR visuals.
This helped tremendously on my rift S with OTT and Ryzen 7 2700x and 2070s. Literally getting 77-80fps in full lobbies 🤘🏼
bro i have an quest 2 in air link and im getting les than 30fps HELP
If anyone is still watching, my head movements are very stuttery and whenever i look around the quest 2 goes crazy but keeping my head still makes it normal again, and im on airlink if that could be the problem? or is it a setup issue.
Try increasing the light in the room, I had sync issues until then
I had fos in the high 50s now I'm down to 35 and can't go back😞
what specs do you have on your pc ?
Need help, I stuck at 1920x1080 resolution(biggest value in video setting), is there any way to increase it(At least 2K like in video)?
Idk if you ever got an answer, that resolution setting is only for the monitor, has no effect on vr
Is there any way to have the desktop screen not stretch when in VR?
I want to do this, so I can easily use the application menu by going into desktop screen, ever find a good solution?
Thanks for the tips. Went from 45 fps to 117fps
hey partick what are you running?? i went from around 35fps to 64fps which was awesome.. Im running i7 9700k - GTX 1660 - 16GB Ram + Oculus Rift (not S) ..im trying to figure out how to get up to over 100FPS like you are.. Im thinking to upgrade to a 3070 +32GB ram

@@blueguy12345 sounds good. i was planning on a 3070 and upgraded ram, it should work out well!
I've got a Reverb G2 and a 1070. I uninstalled CSP and Sol, and turn off the pp filter. This allows me to get smooth 90 fps at super high res, shadows, reflections even with an old 1070. I think it looks better without pp in VR, more natural. Only downside is brake lights are harder to see on cars ahead.
Did you find that CSP used up a lot of FPS. I have not experimented with that to get better FPS with a grid
@@rtimmins7212 definitely. With Sol, CSP, and pp, I would get stutter with only a few cars on the grid. When I used my Rift, it was ok, but the Reverb G2 is much more demanding of the GPU. I miss some of the csp and sol stuff, but not the pp filter. To me, it looks a bit too fake in VR regardless of the pp filter used.
@@robblanchard3146 yes, I gave up on ppf, they are not worth it. I will disable CSP to see what it does. I want 80 fps locked with my rift S, but with a grid it is on the edge.............EDIT. Just disabled CSP and made some graphics presets. I didn't think that CSP was a major FPS hog. Im now running max graphic settings with 1.5 SS without a grid. With a Grid its almost max settings. LA Canyons looks amazing now. I spent hours perfecting my graphic setting before. CSP was destroying my FPS and it does almost nothing in VR IMO. Thanks alot!.....GPU is a 2070
In VR, whenever I turn up SS, it seems to eat away at my frames. I have a Ryzen 7 3700x, RTX 2060 and 16gb ram, so my PC shouldn't be struggling with rendering or loading things. Any tips?
I've followed all these steps but still having issues with the game glitching non stop, i'm just coming from triples.
I must say I'm highly disappointed on immersion my first ever sim game I bought a wheel pedals the lot for AC installed all the mods etc and graphically it just looks washed if that makes sense my fps was only around 50 with a 3080 32gb ram and i9 surely that can't be right I even have steam settings on 90% was expecting a much better experience any ideas ?
Made it run and look worse for me lol is there a restore to default button anywhere?
7:15 Why would I want my view to move without moving my head in VR?
yeah wtf, locked to horizon should be disabled for VR otherwise youre gonna feel like your body is floating around inside the car rather than sitting in it
how do i start the game in vr?
Can i use the quest 2 with content manager ?
I just keep it at Oculus Rift and it works fine with my Quest 2 over Air Link.
What the? What version of Assetto Corsa is this? I've never seen these meny options?? I have a RTX 3070 combined with a HP Reverb G2 and cant get above 75 FPS.. what the actuall F.
why would someone want NeckFX in VR? Isn't the point to turn your head yourself?
Why does your settings look so different than mine
thanks for splitting my fps in half and wasting my time 😁😁
my 1050 ti nearly exploding bc vr ngl
my question is... do you know why my settings on a server are completely different to my settings in, for example, practice? or is there anyone that has the same problem as me?
its because on a server you have to take into account for the other people in the game aswell
why do my settings not look like his
IT is in content manager, not in the original assetto Corsa "interface", strongly recommended
