Poaton is what every fighter thinks they are in their head
C'mon ma'am... you're drooling
@@CeBme lol
The way Poatan turned up the volume in the last minute rd 3 & 4 after the low blow was artful
He was born to fight
He's a fucking beast bro
Were we watching the same sparring session? Alex looked good despite constant, almost reckless pressure. Head movement was good, opponent was constantly messing up and getting put out of position, shots were well timed and reasonable. Not sure what those tweets were pointing out.
That said, Alex is going to be fighting a complete 180 of this guy on Saturday. I don’t think this will translate at all to the fight outside of getting in reps.
Alex l99ked decent but he did take a lot of shots.
However like in the video the people who Ironically pointed out Alex looked like an Amateur vs a Pro is a Literal Fact.
He is an Amateur Boxer & was Sparring a Pro / possibly A Pro Champion HEAVYWEIGHT
idk why anyone cares, he posted this like 2 weeks ago when he didnt have a fight scheduled and wasnt preparing for any style he was just sparring in another country just to train
I think Alex was fighting a tad bit differently to make sure his cardio is good. Because when he actually fights he’s not as active as that sparing session
Fr people are trippin hella lmao it was a great spare
Yeah he was looking good considering hes boxing a pro boxer and using his kickboxing/mma style striking
Alex won that spar. I don't know what the heck people are talking about. He looked good
It's sparring/training. There is no winner.
Alex's most of the shots are deflected by Shoulder rolling and Head movements. Demsey has excellent defense which nullified most of the Alex's attack.
@@kamtroy2527exactly, I don’t understand how people don’t get this. The point is just to get a tune up and stay fresh. They’re not going for killer shots.
Too many filthy casuals giving their uneducated opinions. They respectfully sparring each other, they both displayed good skill.
Agree
Listening to non-fighters critique sparring is hilarious
Duuude… my biggest pet peeve right there!!!
Specially making pathetic statements 🤦♂️🤦♂️ Alex 100% got the best out of the other fella
Holy crap it’s so annoying. These guys act like it makes them somehow tougher, or a good fighter when these guys do something…and God forbid they lose, they defend their boyfriends like the cheerleader rooting for her prom date at the big game. Living vicariously through another man’s fights while you hide in the house jerking off to their promotion posters is the reason these kids have such low T numbers and can’t get women. Country is in trouble IMO.
@@tucsonmaui the coach told him to go light and no power, he's being paid to get beat up by Alex, not to beat up Alex, he's there to get him tuned up for his fight not to damage him 1 week before his fight
people are acting like pereira was sparing a mma/kickboxer lol
Exactly, he's sparring a pro boxer and he's a kickboxer. I thought he did very well. He wasn't playing it safe at all. He stayed in the pocket and was seeing the shots coming. Its hard doing that, especially against a southpaw.
Ian garry again can you not leave this clown out nobody wants to listen to him talk shit his a clown
Don't hate. He did so much with so few fights. Hill fan
I don't know what people were watching. The clip I saw Alex was slipping punches and lighting that dude up.
Yes!
You guys are trippin. First off, you don't win or lose in sparring. Neither are going all out and Alex was slipping and rolling with punches really well. Not to mention not being able to use his kick as setups. Dude is a beast and has great defense with counters. Guy gets KOd by Izzy once and all of a sudden people talking shit about his defense.
Had more to do with weight cut then Izzy ko punch
Word, he looked very good tbh
People didn't watch the full spar, he had the boxer on his heels, he baited him multiple times and delivered counters that stung the guy. Early rounds were close, but then it was clear that Alex was getting the better of the exchanges (not to mention that this was straight hands).
idk what happend in commentsection, is it a bucnh of casuals in fight game dropped here ? nice good sparing sessin wich didnt expose anyone
@@hamzazmamri5027 He looked good and like the "winner" (stupid for a sparring, especially a boxing only sparring) even in those cherry picked clips here.
He slipped most of those shots, and did land some good counters. Including the left hook, pull it and not full power ofc.
Every time I see video of Pereira, I can't help but wonder how he ever fought at middleweight
He's legit a large heavyweight. It's insane.
Swear he gets bigger every time
He was always a weight bully, i love him but its just a fact. People waaay to harsh on Izzy, the size difference is over 40 lbs
@@badm.d💯And Izzy knock out him stiff with that weight difference ! Poatan is a weight bully with a bazooka on his left hand that's it !
@@badm.d took like 3 times…
People in the comments criticizing Poatan for sparring a 6"6 heavyweight in boxing, while they did not accomplish a tenth of what he continuously does, will forever stay far beyond my understanding. lmao
People in the comments who denigrate themselves and grovel to the accomplishments of other men, will forever stay far beyond my understanding. lmao
@@hightham It's about themselves. THEY want Poaton to prove them right. He needs timing because he has no camp, so he spars close to the fight as a necessary evil.
They are all on the couch, eating potato chips as they typed those comments
I was about to say people whose comments were shown in the video saying he looked like an amateur would probably die against alex
The experts of twitter always giving their 2 cents as if they know anything at all. It’s stupid
Poatan is a beast. He was putting pressure and walking down a bigger and heavier guy AT HIS OWN SPORT.
I don't understand the comments about Alex, he was constantly putting pressure on the boxer, great movement, connecting like hell... He was super solid with a professional boxer without using his legs.
Agreed 100% and no one knows what was discussed before the session. With all this influencer boxing and people still can't see the difference between boxing and MMA fighting.
Boxer was toying with him. Tapping away. While Alex was clearly frustrated and hitting harder.
Reply guys be like "Alex looks so amateurish, doesn't half step pivot like a real boxer. I should coach him. He needs it. I'd cook him ngl."
People are tripping. That was good work from both guys. I do agree on one thing though. This close to fight day, no head gear, hard sparring… flirting with disaster
He's OG and a legit multiple world champion at what he does.
I don't think he's worried about things like that at this stage of where he's at in the game.
Pure beast killing machine.
@@spacebomb9126 he is a beast. No doubt
It's a 2 week old video
Brazilians are different
Head gear don't do shit against concussions 😂
Not easy to step straight in and spar a PRO Boxer. Good for him pushing himself and trying to get better. He did awesome against the boxer.
I thought Poatan looked great in that footage, fresher fighter after sparring and landed the bigger hits
Other guy wasn't throwing hard, Poatan was throwing a little too hard imo, the boxer was being nice. Would definitely favor the boxer if they had an actual boxing fight.
@@librarycard3748 Yeah, big size difference though, and boxing is not an actual fight really, too many constraints. It's like stacking the deck in your favor while handicapping your opponent, well yeah of course you'd win doing this. Boxing is like flag football and MMA is like real football. Every boxer that goes into MMA gets beaten by low and mid tier fighters.
Alex is a kickboxer using half his skill set vs a Hw Boxer in 14oz boxing gloves, who clearly outweighs him and looked crisp and sharp with his punches, fake news headline
Potan is a real g anyone anytime anywhere he's a beast said it from day dot 💪
When exactly was day dot?
The very moment he stepped in.the ufc watched him In glory and you could just tell he's a killer
@@gavingg4761 .... Ehm, I think you got it confused with day one, not day dot.
Why does Gary always look like he’s staring directly into the sun
He probably gets sunburnt just being around a lightbulb lmao
i Just though about wtf he doing some strange smile emoji all the time
Well he talks that way too so maybe he just likes staring into the sun on his spare time. It would explain a lot...
Hes a vampire, like those ones from twilight
must be one of those tiktok ring lights for the pretty boy lol

were those people saying poatan lost the sparring watching the same footage? He was clearly landing more lol.
Haters lol, and the guys a boxer, and he’s way bigger
They just haters or the boxers fanboys don't know shii
I thought the same thing! In my eyes, he was tearing that big dude up! Slipping punches, uppercutting, and clean, sharp body shots. Wtf were those guys watching that are criticizing him!?
You guys are clearly biased due to being mma fans. Alex was getting jabbed to death and countered with the straight left none stop.
Worst part is that was edited to make him look as good as possible and it still looked like he lost
It wasn't about winning or losing. Alex was getting some work in, and he had a skilled boxer in there to help him. Having stated that, Alex looked excellent. Very quick for such a large man
alex perreira defended the belt with a broken toe. dana bringing doctors to defend the conman. he should'v taken the ibuprofen
Probably still broken now.
khabib did against Justin Gaethje as well
@@mrtibbz10 and he will defend it again in couple of day, with the broken toe again...
@@Corsa15DT History says Jiri will avenge that L... I be feeling it

Tbh that octagon chicken coop is rad
Izzy showing that sparring footage to the homies while smoking a black like "I knocked him out once"
And got slept twice 😂 but I got him once tho

Have no idea what those people were watching. The clip i saw Alex was walking him down slipping punches and lighting that dude up.
@micahwest2793 Watch it on poatons channel. People struggle with p much the same factors w Poaton. Honestly idk why he posts these it's crazy insight.
It was edited footage. You saw what you wanted to see.

After hitting the Low Blow, HW boxer was like “Please don’t Jamal Hill me!”
Insert video of conor making fun of fighters pulling out for sore toes.

Conor: "Youre gonna leave the cage on a stretcher, PeaHead!!"
Also conor: _leaves the cage on a stretcher._
He really is mystic mac.
People crack me up critiquing Alex’s sparring like they know or can do better 🤣🤣 just watch the video and shut up
Poatan really has balls of steel literally.
Alexs head movements and counters are getting even sharper, damn
Damn... not many people dwarf Pereira
He just has longer legs, and a shorter torso. Not “dwarfing” at all
Pereira doesn't just have hands of stone I'm pretty sure he has balls of stone as well😂
That Pereira footage beautifully shows the difference between boxer and ‘mma boxer’ … the angles and technique is just different, no hate to any sport, it’s all amazing
Looks like Alex is getting ready for the heavyweight division in the near future.💥
No featherweight
@@rustyshackleford436 It'll be him and Volk headlining after the next disaster.
On Poaton's youtube, Plinio told Declan it'd be light tech sparing, then Alex goes hard and broke his nose...kinda f'd up
Damn that's wild .
Yeah it felt a bit like ego sparring from poatans side, like he wanted to test himself to win vs the bigger boxer instead of sparring to learn and train.
@fredrikandersson3885 It's always ego sparring. There is nothing you can do about that. You don't become the best in the world by letting people one up you. It's the nature of it. Over all the interaction was very positive. The Aussie wants to train w them if he goes to America how bad could it of gone.
@@OnMicMMA Wrong, ive done muai thai and a national level and sparred with some of the best in the word, it depends on whats agreed upon beforehand if someone is in camp or not. Regular training sparring (this was said to be light tech sparring incase u missed that) is far from ego sparring my dude, but when its fightcamp prep sparring, its a a point fight basically with intent to win.
@fredrikandersson3885 You can agree all you want, tag Alex with a good one and see if he doesn't give it back dude. That's as simple as it is. Even if it's just in good nature, trying to help each other it's very easy to escalate.
The muay thai style of sparring comes from a culture where guys fight everyday... they don't need active sparing.
Almost 1mil subscribers!! So cool to see that, I think I joined the fam when it was a quarter of that, keep up the awesome vids!! Can't wait to see that 1 million!
Conon recently said he's not losing another fight..makes sense if you don't fight.
Watching Poatan is like art. -An Izzy fan
bryce mitchell should put connor ''chicken'' mcgrubber in there with his friends
Always top notch. Thanks for taking the time ❤
Anybody who actually boxed in their life (and I don't mean you took one month of training and think you get it), would know that Poatan has pretty bad defense. But that's the thing, that's by BOXING standards defense--he likes to keep his guard low, hands in front, and his chin is up, he stays up right and leans with his crosses/jabs, but his hooks are absolute perfection and insane torque. But that's what he mastered, because that's the KICKBOXING stance and way of fighting which you have to account for a whole different vector and need to be loose to throw and anticipate kicks.
Now, add in the mma factor where you have smaller oz gloves = smaller area to protect yourself with, smaller area of your punch landing, you see that his style is perfect for his fighting preference, perfect for his proportions (long limbs), and keeps him loose to throw his deadly snappy leg kicks without changing his direction/angle much.
He also has great slips, which if he didn't, could easily break his whole style. You see him getting caught in the full vid vs a pro boxer, but that's bigger gloves, traditional boxing style, not mma.
In a boxing match I have no doubt this HW would win, though Poatan would make it tough. But against someone Poatan's size, but someone who is #1 p4p boxer (Usyk)? Of Poatan would be cooked.
Again, people need to take into context all the variables, different styles, different sports, and realize there are pros and cons depending on the context.
Poatan is a worldclass master as a STRIKER, not a BOXER. And add in kicks into the equation, and he's an absolute nightmare with his reach, power, snappy but insane torque. He would have to relearn his whole arsenal and years of mastery in his style if he ever wanted to transition to boxing.
If Conor has some honor left in him, he should make it a point to reward Chandler that fight. C'mon 2 years then just trolled him that long
Never forget. Conor is the only fighter in MMA to have tapped out in 3 different divisions
Ask Artem Lobov what's Connor's sense of reward 🤣
When was he about honor? When he punched the old guy in the bar? Dolly throwing honor? He never had one, never will.
Cant be handing out free wins as an award 😂 gotta come in 100% healed to make it worthy.
I hope McGregor is doing it for the simple fact that Mike is the cringiest dude I've ever seen
Alex is a real fighter unlike khamzat where being Muslim didn't allow him to fight during ramadan but it allows him to beat his wife.
Well, sometimes they do get a bit mouthy, to be fair
A real fighter who only fights mma strikers
Sure sure
He is a kicboxer not a fighter
Until he beats or at least fights a good class wrestler he is not an mma fighter.
And dont come uo with jan blachowitz, he lost that fight and jan is not a grappler, jan is polish kickboxing champion as well
Thats like saying izzy is a wrestler because izzy took alex down.
Sounds like someone from Dagestan slept with your mother because you can't stop talking about them
He wants a 9yo girlfriend like his "profit"
Lmao what
Alex Pereira is a fucking legend .
Head gear doesn't stop damage, it only prevents cuts - lames.
*MMA fighters will never learn they cannot beat real boxers in boxing 😂.*
Yeah too bad they beat them in every other aspect of fighting lol
LoL Alex was piecing him up pretty easy.
He's a kickboxing legend before MMA.
The man can box just fine, kiddo.
Dude, he wasnt piecing anything up. He was getting jabbed to death and countered with the straight left a lot.
And think that was edited to try and make him look as good as possible too@@spacebomb9126
@spacebomb9126 not really.
My first comment is a balloon!😅
Your creativity is a baloon as well

Pulling punches with Alex, now that's a tough job.
Love Poatan, I’m a huge fan. But I REALLY don’t like the whole releasing sparring footage anytime you dominate a guy just a little…. Where’s the honor for your training partners man? Come on now 🤦♂️
He is an attention seeker now
He wants to be as cool as izzy soo bad
he didn't win that sparring at all. Showed lack of defense.
@@backbone93said no one ever..

Thanks for the video Mma world
That sparring footage just proves that Alex can beat the shit out of Tom Aspinall.
Pereira is fkin MASSIVE, I cannot fathom how he started out at flyweight, even middleweight makes no sense.
That outro meme with Uncle Dana on the hospital bed, lmao!!!!! ---> next week "WHATS'S UP EVERYBODY!!!!! TODAY WE GOT A REPLACEMENT CARD SINCE POATAN SUSTAINED AN INJURY SPARRING...."
Were people expecting the sparring partner to go all out when Alex has a fight on the Saturday, Even when Alex turned up the pace the spar partner kept it cordial.
Never seen someone use the UFC to jumpstart their farming career, but all the power to him
Nice video ❤
That is some quality high level work
Dude Alex kept pressure on that guy and was going 50%, Alex got hit in the nads too. Gotta be trolls on Alex lol
They all high asf.
I agree, bro.
Alex lost every second of that sparring. Countered almost everything to the body. He got bullied by the that heavyweight power.
When poatan is throwing it’s straight mesmerizing
Soo happy to see y’all put together a hilarious ending. We hit a dry spell for a minute.
I was impressed Alex wasn't simply out muscled by the larger man. Held fast, didnt give much ground. Had some dazzling flurries and nice combos. And you can hear the larger man heaving for breath. Alex is a cardio MONSTER. if the fight had gone longer I think Alex would have taken dude into deep waters and smothered him. IMO
Usman complained about sparring footage of Alex popping up everywhere.
Alex: here's a looooong one 😅
Great sparing match...both looked good! 👍🏽
Do not make noises when you throw a punch, 1 you sound like a wounded animal. 2 You are telegraphing your attacks. 3 it is a sign of weakness.... it is almost like you are asking for permission to throw a punch.
Things started to get intense, you can tell because Alex was beginning to turn it up , slipping quickly, landing beautifully...
That ending had me crying, ya gotta chill. I’m up here at work 😂
Ya'll are insane if you think Alex was losing in that sparring session.
That 6'6 guy - ish, ish, ish ish, ish ish ish out loud with his strikes and constantly backing up and covering up...
Alex - quiet, stalking, great head movement with amazing accuracy strikes. No ish ish ish, ish ,ish ish sounds at all.
In a real fight, that boxer would get KO'd bad against Alex.
MMA fans are crazy asf.
You sound incredibly ignorant and it’s clear you don’t know what you’re talking about, regardless of who “won” a sparring session.
Demsey MCKEAN IS just going through the motions with Alex. Light work
6”6” 255 lb professional boxer…look at the guy’s record. Alex is ready! No idea what the haters are talking about…Poatã won this, no doubt.
Bryce Michell's chicken coop is awesome 😂 he's an inspiration to anyone wanting a simple life
Why do we keep quoting doctors on whether a broken pinky is a reason to postpone the fight every doctor is going to say any injury is a legit reason why. But alex Pereira and other fights have fought through stuff like this all the time. That is who we are comparing to... not wuss doctors.
Imagine he gets a title shot or a ranked boxing opponent like Ngannou did, but actually wins. Poaton would be the greatest combat sports athlete of all time
Pereira is a animal he was fairing well against a heavyweight boxer. They were both lighting each other up. Would have been an entertaining boxing match honestly.
Both fighters are so talented!
Poatan out with a cut. New main event jiri vs Anthony smith
Knowing bryce it's most likely a polygon
An octagon is a type of polygon. So yes, it’s a polygon.
6′ 6″ and (22 - 1- 0) Pro boxer, Poatan is a Savage!
Were those critics of Alex watching the same footage as me?!
Bryce Mitchell’s chickens lay flat eggs
Alex has some serious balls of steel! I get hit on the balls, I’m on the floor crying!
The people claiming Perriera won the sparring don’t box. He got out volumed and the other guy blocked 90% of the shots if you listen you can hear most of the shots hit the gloves. But still valuable training.
Poatan boxed great, for mma style fight. In mma you can not block a punch in a similar way as in boxing. So you emphasise head movement and catching punches mid-air. This is what piatan does. Also, his pressure and offensive threat is part of his defence.
Are the people commenting on the video watching the same boxing spar with poatan, he was in fine form his slipping was incredible he was in a dance and in total control his shots were seen and timed perfectly the boxer was getting on his way to being gassed massive slips and ducks , art pereira not Alex , pretty impressive
I have broke my same small toe while drinking too much and walking without my slides one… smashed it and it looked exactly like that. It definitely took that foot out for about a 2 weeks to not be painful to walk. You can adapt to the pain but you step the wrong way and boom, it reminds you that your toe is broken
That guy who gave Alex boxing defense 3/10 doesn’t know what he’s talking about
The people saying Poaton lost that spar are absolutely imbeciles; he wasn’t trying to win it, but make himself sharper. And giving as good as he got. That said, not wearing headgear days before a fight is not Poaton but Potato.
Poatan won that sparring and he held back. Insane for people to think he lost that? he controlled the ring the whole time....
1:30 I guess the mexican gangster from breaking bad went to med school
That was a super good sparring, and it was for free 🔥
Bro Alex did great he was lighting that dude up
Am I the only one thought that Perreira looked good in that sparring? Head movement is amazing, jab great, body work awesome. Author of the video agrees with the comments? If no - why add those into video bratha?
Alex looking good, that was a great spar session.
Everyone saying Alex lost that is blind. His defense is so good. He makes these little movements, that are barely noticeable and makes the opponent hit nothing but air. Dudes a straight up beast.
He was trying so hard against the other dude who was trying less than half was Alex was dishing lol he lost that shit duh
My God that ending 😂😂😂
Alex is lucky he is such a good Kickboxer, because these sparring sessions probably gave him a weak chin by now. He takes alot of steam off of punches by moving with them, and he is extremely experienced how to act when hurt, and he recovers very fast (like we saw against Izzy and Jiri)
