Are you a young professional looking to give back and engage in the Seattle community? This opportunity could be for you. 🔨🏠🙌🏼
I’m going beyond the build for this week’s video with Habitat for Humanity of Seattle King County! Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to ensure everyone has a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home.
I got to help with a build in North Bend (about 30 mins from Seattle) and take part in the organization’s Habitat Young Professionals Program. This group provides volunteer opportunities for young people to come together and network, in their communities and abroad, including through Global Village trips.
One VERY cool aspect of the community I built in, called ‘Tyler Town’, is that the land was donated by the estate of George Krsak. Habitat worked with the city of North Bend to rezone the property, so that the land that previously had a single-family home will now give SEVEN families an affordable place to live.

This particular build will be completed by February 2023 with a big reveal.
Habitat Young Professionals is a completely volunteer-driven group in the Seattle area that offers the opportunity to volunteer, network and build a community in a fun and welcoming environment. HYP plans volunteer events and social activities, all with the mission to address our region’s affordable housing crisis. Currently Habitat-Seattle-King County is working on about 272 homes in communities all over the region.
Everyone is welcome! It’s a great way to meet new people and be around like-minded people.
