Best Teakwood is Karnataka Teakwood from Dandelli Forest seasoned teak. This wood has lot of grains and rich in oil. Dandelli teakwood cost Rs 6000/- per feet. These trees are more than 100 years old. Locally farmers grown teakwood are around 20 to 25 years which cost Rs 2500 per feet. To make a plane sofa you need min 8 feet wood and design one you need 10 feet. Carpenter making charges Rs 10000 + Polising charges Rs 8000 + planning and cutting Rs 7000/- Finally it cost not less than 75000 per sofa which is life long warranty. Most of the sellers use local teak and sell for 35 k or 40 k. After two to three years cracks will form in the wood. Original polish if done will look like new even after 25 years but most sellers use local polish which fade after six months. In polishing colour can be changed to any extent and they cover white wood too. Teak with white wood will be damn cheap and don't go for it. White purchasing don't look the brand but look at cushion density which should be around 38 to 40. This will last for more than 20 years and cost around 10000 along with cushion cover cloth.

This teak is sold by forest dept government of Karnataka in auction. Timber merchants all over Karnataka who are license holders buy this teak in auction. This is expensive cost above 6000 so most of the timber merchants cheat by selling local teak as Dandelli teak for price tag aroung 5000 cft. Still if you need more in quantity you can contact any timber merchants in Dandelli saying we need seasoned teak.
