Jim Reeves on the Jimmy Dean Show in February 1964. This is just 5 months from the Plane Crash in July 1964 that would take the lives of Jim and his Piano Player Dean Manuel.
Dean Manuel (Jim Reeves Pianist, business partner and good friend) often gets forgotten behind that wonderful voice of Jim’s; but Manuel was a hell of a piano player who made the melody behind the voice perfectly inclined with Jim’s voice. Sadly he was lost in the plane crash with Jim.
We are from Australia a pair of twins, and we are ardent Gentleman Jim Reeves fans from day one have been to his memorial eight times and going again, Met many of his family, been to all the family grave sites, met some who went to school with him and had a lot to say about him which was very nice. H,es home town where we visited Was very peacefully, Really looking forward to our next trip, Jim Reeves was nothing but the greatest and the very best.
Jim is my favorite Country singer, This is pretty rare footage so glad somone found it, shame only so much Jim Reeves footage has been uploaded. I can imagine alot of it has been lost
Back when people had class, wish I was around when Jim was alive, or better yet I wish he was starting off nowadays. Such talent. His songs stand the test of time. RIP Jim.
I used to travel between Houston to West Monroe, LA, and drove past Jim's memorial and grave site many, many times. One day I pulled in there with my teenage daughter. What an awe-inspiring thing for us to experience. If you are near Panola, in east Texas go by there and visit. You won't be disappointed .
This man was the epitome of clean-cut gentlemanly grace. There's a peace and quiet self-assurance at the core of this man that just comes through his singing. He carries himself with calm dignity. Who wouldn't like to have this man as their neighbor or dad or uncle? The world today could use this man's comforting presence.
I don't know how I got here, but everything is really crazy, I don't intend to tell anyone I know. I don't know if this story makes sense but I need to tell it. I was studying and always put music in the background. One day, a random playlist of old songs started playing, in the 17 minutes it played one that I was just very emotional that I can't explain. I don't know where I want to go but this experience was so real. It was as if I had always known. I didn't go after the artist to find out who he was. But talking to a religious person, he told me about memories of his past life. I'm very skeptical so I doubt myself. But I talked about my childhood experiences, and that until I was 6 I thought I was a man and I was always afraid of planes and storms. today curious about it i went back on the playlist to find out who was singing, and i came across this jim reeves and i was shocked that his death is related to a plane crash in a storm. You can believe it or not..I don't know what my relationship would be with these people that I don't know and who lived in a country far from mine. I'm not going to get to the bottom of this because the life that goes on. I am going to listen to their other songs, it makes me feel good and I can study.
I just had to watch this again. Wonderful country music great country music stars of a bygone era. No one will ever fill their shoes. Especially in the so called count music of day. Just garbage being recorded today. Not at all country music
It's great to see my favorite singer Jim Reeves perform here. He sang my favorites ''Welcome to my World'' and ''Four Walls''.THX for posting and keep up the good work.
I understand Jim loved flying and had purchased the plane not long before the crash . I have heard he wasn’t completely qualified to fly this particular plane. RIP Jim
He mentioned Chet Atkins. It was Chet Atkins that convinced him to stare singing with his baritone style and to get away from the higher pitched style that was so popular at that time.
Jim Reeves had a pitch perfect silky baritone voice that will never be equaled.
Frank Sinatra🧐

Shame Marty Robbins never appeared on the Jimmy Dean show. He was really at the top of his game then. Enjoyed seeing Jim Reeves though.

No other words, but just incredible
No lip syncing here folks!
Jim Reeves was very popular in South Africa, and liked it so much he may well have gone to live there had he lived.
Thank you, Jimmy Dean. We, too love Jim Reeves. Such greats. Very true the question: who will fill their shoes? So far no one has.

jimmy dean = cool
the reason why all these singers back then where true because no auto tune...so singers today suck!
He mentioned Chet Atkins. It was Chet Atkins that convinced him to stare singing with his baritone style and to get away from the higher pitched style that was so popular at that time.
THAT WAS EDIE GORME !
Jim's voice was smooth as butter.
Hey who's the young lady? She looks a bit like Eydie Gorme.
Is the female
EYDIE GORMET?
Enjoyed this video.
And the homespun humor.
😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
It sure is Eydie Gormé. She was on more than once and they will all be available restored in due course.
Original American music....
Me too Kathy
Would be much better if they had the master tapes of these shows instead of just the kiniscope!.
Compare this with the cr ap of today. Yes, America is in a steeples decline.
I just threw up. I got the obsequious blues.
First Gay country star.. Little known fact..
Any proof of that?
not true, read his biography , he was a womanizer if anything
Yeah you’re on about Jimmy Dean. I just looked it up there.
@@kindnessyet2159 what???? James Dean yes. Jimmy Dean no.
@@Gilstrap2009 I have no idea who the guy is on about being gay cause Jim Reeves sure wasn't, I have his untold stories book.
