Let me know if you love these Pupdates as much as I do and I'll keep them coming. Thank you for being a part of saving these dogs with me ❤ I'm so proud to be a part of this awesome community of Animal Lovers 🤙
Keep them coming Rocky!!! ❤❤❤
I love these pup dates! Keep it up! Love the amazing work you do for dogs!
My fave videos! Love the updates.
Love them! Thanks Rocky!! ❤🦴🌹🦴
Pupdates are the best part of the channel!
Anyone who refers to their elderly dog as “gross” doesn’t deserve the privilege of owning a dog. It may not be glamorous caring for a sick, elderly dog, but compared to the love & devotion they gave you all their lives, it’s nothing and we OWE them.
It's not glamorous but I don't care how much animal fluids and solids I get on me. Made a promise and that was forever. Also senior dogs are such great snuggle buddies. what's not to love?
My senior dog is still housetrained but I've just ordered some undies to be ready for if/when she needs them.
I love her so much & always will. She makes me a better person.
Regardless if animal or human old ones get thrown away, we are a disposable commodity.
I love senior dogs so much! They have a gentle dignity to them and they respond to kindness with such incredible love and thankfulness. THEY don't want to have more medical issues, go slower, or potty where they shouldn't any more than you want them to. They can't help it! It comes with age, and time comes for us all.
To me, there's only puppies. Big puppy, small puppy, old puppy. Every single one of them has a heart of gold.
Do YOU get tired of all of us "commenters" giving you positive affirmations? Because you are a good man, yes you are and you don't have to worry because you have a huge audience sending you virtual hugs! (Last sentence was attempt to be funny, but perhaps should leave that for the purr fessionals!)
😆❤️
❤😂❤
🤣🤣🤣
What do you mean you WISH you could sing, Rocky? You absolutely CAN sing! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 That part of the video was so touching.
I really want to live him, pet him... Tell him he never has to see that OLD family, not ever!! 8 would take him home in a heartbeat... But I work 7p to 7a. SO I
sleep 8a to 6pm...
My hours are not Fair to me, certainly not 'fair' to any animal! That's 5 days a week, Sat and Sun?. I sleep!!!. And, I am 80... Not sure how much more I can take. But I would love that 'Ghost' dog forever, walks, ocean visits... Lots of love!!! I am sorry!!!
The senior (second) doggies story left me in tears. How can anyone just dump their senior dog after so many years together??? And how many senior dogs don't ever get to have a new family, and end up sitting in a shelter forever or even get put down? This is so sad. Thank you Rocky for what you are doing for these dogs!!!❤
I don't understand it either. Most of us would do ANYTHING for more time!
We have an older Corgi/Dutch Shepherd mix and we will continue to do absolutely anything we can until the end of his days.
People choose animals like they do children. Mostly babies get adopted
@@tbella5186 yes absolutely!
sometimes people die or get ill and their families don't want a dog to look after
I live in senior citizens building. They do try to find placement for left behind animals if owners die or go into nursing homes for rest of life.
The pupdates are my favorite. My heart melts each time. Rarely do I not break down and cry. Thank you for all you and your beautiful wife do.
Thank you thank you! Appreciate you Deborah
You're telling me! I should start having a box of Kleenex near me every time I watch one.
Nice comment. Sweet. ❤😊
Oh my gosh the end of Caspers story had me in TEARS. What an incredible family for such an incredible boy. The fact his new dad went to sit by his kennel every day made me sob. He's gonna have the BEST life!
Touched by this beautiful caring family
❤
Same! My heart was aching so badly for Jasper and was in tears and angry that his family could even think it's okay for them to throw him away like they did. 😢 💔 He's such a beautiful boy!! Then my heart did a happy dance and cried happy tears when I saw the new family loving on him and wanting him to be apart of their family. 💙🐾💙🐾💙
@@user-kp4zm5cp4w that poor baby's story made me furious, how can anyone simply dump their dog? It seem inconcevable to do such a thing. he simply wanted to be loved
You've got something a little wrong, Rocky. A new dog isn't a replacement for a dog you loved, it's a successor--its own dog, with its own needs and ways to be happy. You will love Flip forever, the way I love Bug. But another dog will find its own place in your heart.
I agree with you completely, the heart expands to allow you to extend your love. they are not a replacement, they are a continuation, love is an ever growing circle and simply continues to expand
How true ... They are "the one who comes after" "they may not be the dog you want but they are the dog you need". I know I have one I love and wouldn't change for another dog.
😊❤😊
People who mistakenly think, "Well, they're just dogs" (or "just animals") really need to watch videos like these to see the full gamut of emotions these creatures experience. With some of them you can almost read their thoughts as they transition from fear to openness. Thank you, Rocky. I was afraid to watch your videos in the past because all of these sad histories really do a number on me, but the happy endings and seeing the work people like you do make me so hopeful.
I came here to say this! I am learning so much from you, Rocky and a big part of it is managing my emotions in these situations. But I’m growing more confident about being emotionally able to volunteer.
@@MyPremoLife
Please do volunteer in whatever capacity you're able to, it's awesome, one ends up thanking those beautiful creatures for their love. 🙏
@kaliskid...What those "humans" need is to learn that we are also part of the animal kingdom!
If any creature should be mistreated it is the human who has the gifts to speak, reason and protect but decides to harm the defenseless beings. 😢 🙏
@@lucycarbajal9979 Yes, agreed! 👏
SO VERY HAPPY to see Casper in his new FOREVER home! Seeing him standing in the shelter absolutely broke my heart💔😢 BUT what a WONDERFUL turn around!! THANK YOU & the lovely family that gave this gorgeous boy a chance!!! 🥹😍🥰❤️🤗
Seeing how tired and sad he was absolutely broke my heart, but then the happiness in his home with his family was so beautiful! He’s where he belongs! I know they say animals don’t hold on to the bad things and I pray he only knows/remembers the love of his family, not the ones (sorry, the kindest words I can find) who returned him to the shelter.
I love you people who open your hearts and love and care for these poor dogs. Casper has a loving
Family of humans and a special family of dogs who know what love they give her is a rainbow of their doggie friend ship. Thank you all who have also given him their doggies love and friendship. Thanks to those human heartstrings ❤.
My 5 year old daughter and I have been watching your videos for a few months now. We absolutely love what you do for these beautiful, amazing doggies. We decided that we wanted to become a member to help you on your journey sitting with dogs. I lost my boxer baby 3 years ago and have not been able to think about another boxer in my home until this video with Mila! I am going to my local shelter to see if there is any boxers that I could adopt. I have a Siberian Husky who's a little over a year, and she needs a sister to love and play with. If it wasn't for what you do, I wouldn't have realized I was ready to love another boxer again.... Thank you from Wilkes-Barre PA
Awesome pawsome.

@margiekark...
You're an awesome mommy, we love parents like you who teach their little ones to love and care for the innocent, defenseless, more loving than so many wrongly born humans, beautiful animals. 💕🙏
@lucycarbajal9979 You are so right on every point.. I have four children total, and every one of them are animal lovers. From a young age they learned that animals feel just like we humans do. So if you don't take care of them, it hurts them physically and emotionally. All of us do what we can to help animals of abuse and neglect. And I mean all animals, even Rats. We have 8 of them that we have rescued from abuse. We have rabbits and our dog Namuq, they are all a part of our family and they are protected and loved. Thank you, for your kind words. It strengthens by values and beliefs on the subject.
Feeling the love from your comment, so awesome 💗💗💗
Rocky, I'm a 74 year old disabled lady in Oregon and my days are long with all my pain. So I love watching you calm these dogs and bring them back to life. That stinky but sweet chocolate lab was one I just wanted to hug through the tv. Talking about feeling her heart beat caused me to think about when my mom was passing. The hospital sent a young man in to play his harp for mom and our family. The man was watching mom's readings on the machines and I told him I knew he was monitoring the numbers. He watched mom's heart rate just slow down to a peaceful rate. If you could play gentle soft music while talking to the dogs you might see them get mellow even faster. You do an awesome job. Keep up the great work!
Me too! I feel like he would
Almost 2 and a half hours of Rocky pupdates?! Hallelujah!!! ❤️
@rescuepetsrock9880 right???❤❤
It's amazing how dogs can show emotion in their faces.
Yes. especially in their eyes.
Their eyes tell so much of their story 🥹
Beautiful puppers that just wants to be loved! ‘Can I trust you!’ Keep cooing 👌
Love Poppy!!
and there's people out there that says that animals doesn't have emotions. smh.
I can't believe they never even spayed Dawn. (Let alone dumping her and calling her gross. 🤬)
Some people don't deserve animals.
Just so you know some areas it's nearly impossible to get started with a vet. In my area. Vet wait lists are sometimes years long because there isn't enough vets. So I wouldn't judge someone just for not getting their dog fixed. As long as they are responsible and don't let the dog get pregnant.
Yes they (the previous owners) are gross to me.
I am not a dog owner, but I feel the need to watch your videos any way. I have, however, rescued three cats from our local animal shelter. My dad was a veterinarian and a greyhound rescuer. I remember each of these dogs from watching their individual stories/videos, and am grateful to each of the families for taking the time and making the effort to support each of these dogs.
It breaks my heart to see dogs shake like they do when they are so scared and shut down. I brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for all that you do.
I have 15 dogs of different ages and 3 different breeds. They all have their own personality and feelings. Yes I said feelings. Some people don't think that animals have feelings but they do. When they feel that you are a good person they can and will always be your best friend.
The “Scoop”,,I waited a few days with my rescue from Detroit. The Humane Society TATTOED HER BELLY!!
I still had her microchiped.
I’m so glad you’re teaching us. Thank you.
My Scoop turned into a two hour nap for Her. I didn’t dare move,,I showed her nothing but love❤.
10 years have passed and I Not Once had to scold her❤ Were still loving each other.
Oh dear sweet Casper, he looks SO tired, i'm crying, oh - he just relaxed and licked your face oh that is JUST ESPECIALLY BEAUTIFUL. OH, it's tears of joy now
He looks traumatized. So sad😢
I had a senior dog and did not have the money to pay for a surgery( always had yearly checkups, vaccinations and took her when she was sick) was told that either we had to put her down or give her to a shelter. We were told that we would not be able to readopt her and they would not give us any information. If she had the surgery she would be fine . We had to give her up and leave her with the vet . We were all heartbroken, including Sammi . So sometimes this is what happens. It’s maybe taking to the shelter is from love
Thank you for loving your dog so much you knew you had to give her up to help her. It doesn't hurt any less but you did the right thing.
For future reference reach out to rescues to see if they can help with expenses. Some Humane Societies has low income programs too. Too many animals find themselves in this situation….not because they are not loved and wanted but because of money. I wish more shelters would just work with owners instead of separating families.
Geez, I would beg borrow or steal to fix my dog. Obviously you can't get a credit card?
@@nicoledarling9646 I'd rather die myself than lose my precious cat-daughter.
Did you explore other possibilities, your “old” dog was most likely euthanized, without your comforting presence?!
THANK YOU, EMILY FOR ADOPTING DAWN!!! ITS SO OBVIOUS YOU ARE AN AMAZING PET OWNER! 💝
I donate to The animal care Sanctuary in East Smithfield, PA. It is a no kill shelter and we adopted a Black Lab mix from there. He was abused. It takes time. He has become the best dog.
it's been year and a half since my pup died from cancer and I still can't talk about her without crying... dogs are the most beautiful creatures I can't imagine living without dog
Hey Rocky! You are the most incredible person I’ve ever seen.
After five years of watching you, you’ve inspired me to rescue my dog, Huey, and I couldn’t have made a better decision. I continue to watch you as I try to grow a dog channel and hope the best for you in the future!
Yay! Hi Huey 👋
@@rockykanaka How is Forrest doing? Hope you can do a pupdate on him soon.
@@rockykanaka Hi Rocky . I just found you last week and now I watch obsessively on
CZcams , your web etc. My husband and I got our first dog soon after we married 55 years ago and had dogs every single day since then. Our daughters have followed suit with dogs and cats. We have 3 rescues now and fear our time is too limited to take another, but our hearts are with you. Several year ago our rescue, Millie ( from a puppy mill ) ended her fairly long life after abuse that would make anyone cry. She was my heart dog and looked almost exactly like Bailey. Will you do an update,Please? Just know that this family will work to pass along your information here in Ga and across the nation in my daughter’s corporation. We pray for your journey’s success and for all support you may need to continue . If I can ever be helpful , ask. I;ll be here!
I just can’t even with Poppy’s pittie/boxer face!!! So cute!
I had to put my 17 year old baby down on Monday. Just got his ashes back today.

Aw, I'm so sorry😢 So hard to lose a fur baby. Hugs n Love, ❤❤❤
Hugs, hon. That's rough.
I'm so sorry for your loss,my prayers are with you ❤
So sorry- you gave your dog a good life.
Thanks for all the caring comments. It helps. He is missed dearly.
My dog now and my dog before where shelter dogs. When my last dog died I was devastated, I went two days later to saved another life in his honor, March 22 will be two years since he died and my heart still breaks for him. My dog now helped me through it and still does. I would never say I would take any dog in a heartbeat and then not take it. Maybe if you didn’t say that people wouldn’t try pushing you when you’re not ready. There’s no time limit on grief I know that firsthand, but I also know my dog probably wouldn’t have survived the shelter because of her breed. She watches the videos and I could tell from her expression she remembers being there
❤ I had to send my almost 19 year old rescued ❤Rhodesian Ridgeback/Carolina on the 1st of last month; I still have my rescued almost 4 year old catahoula & have been debating on getting her a new running buddy from the shelter.❤
I’m in the UK but I love seeing you bringing such comfort into these poor little pooches lives. You’re such a great advocate for them. By the way you have the best chuckle I’ve ever heard 😊
Rocky, I wish that I could do your job, I am now a disabled man and can hardly walk. You can see the souls of these animals scared and needing to help.
You are not alone, I too have become disabled and I know that I couldn’t give a dog what it needs. It’s difficult because I know people with disabilities would gain as much as the dog for companionship but I couldn’t fulfil all of their needs. So don’t ever think you’re alone in this situation ❤
I hope you can find something with dogs while you are disabled. I am too and I have 2 dogs and 3 cats.
There are some rescues or shelters that would let you come and just sit with the dogs and read/pet or just love on them! Just spending time with the dogs is so important!!
THANK YOU, JOHN & FAMILY FOR ADOPTING CASPER! HIS EYES ARE SO HAPPY NOW!!! 🤩
It is encouraging to know that people are coming around and realizing Pitties are not the vicious dogs they have been portrayed to be. Just a few years ago a close childhood friend's daughter told me they were vicious and not to be trusted. The woman was so mean to me that I just didn't argue with her. I just chalked it up to ignorance about the breed. They are a beautiful breed.
I've fostered well over 100 pit bull puppies, and I agree! 🐾
Here is the thing alot of senior dogs were also owned by seniors and when the family comes in and puts their parent in a home, and the dog is left behind. Or the parent died and the dog left behind. I've witnessed this more than I can count. It is very important that people who own animals make sure they find someone to take them if anything happens. My dog is taken care of. I have 2 people that will take mine if any thing happens to me.
The best thing people can do is take senior dogs in. Their deserve it.
We had a family friend who passed in 2019 and left an 11 year old chihuahua mix.
We took her in. She's fully deaf and not all there mentally, but she'll have a home until she joins her first human.
Frosted Faces Ramona California is such a wonderful shelter for senior dogs, they also take on pets left behind due to owner passing if they can (have room, see Dawn's story here.)
Yes!! This!! When my grandma passed, we drove to Tennessee & took home some of her cats. If my parents were to pass, I'd take their dogs, even though I have 2 of my own already.
I hadn't thought about what happens to my pets when I die til I saw an attorney mention to put them in the will
So happy when I saw Casper with his new family! 😂❤
Dawn having her puppiccino! Sweetest thing ever!!!🩷☀️🪻
How can a person just not want their dog anymore? People like that should never be allowed to have another dog.
All my dogs have been adopted. I can love any dog. I’ve always gone to a shelter, saying give me your least adoptable, male, black dog. Because I’m a senior it can’t be a dog that is large. So any dog under 50 pounds, any age. A senior with health issues is fine.
My current adopted sweetheart is half Doberman half German shepherd. I got him when he was four years old. He is nine years old now, and I felt he needed a friend.
Went to the adoption agency only to be told that I was too old to adopt a dog. Any dog. They wouldn’t even take my application. I’m strong, healthy, drove myself to the agency, in my SUV. It actually broke my heart. I love taking these scared dogs and giving them a home and giving them love.
So I went to a breeder. Something I said I would never EVER do. I’ve had this pup for a year. He’s wonderful I love him, and my current adopted dog has never been happier to have a friend. OMG they are best buddies. But, I still watch “sitting with dogs“ and I feel badly that I wasn’t allowed to save a dog from a shelter. Such is life.
Hugs to all dog lovers in chat. ❤
I'm so sorry they wouldn't let you adopt. That is absurd. My parents are 65 and 80 and they have adopted dogs! .....I bet if you went to different shelters, they would have different rules
The grief is the price we pay for their unconditional love. Shorter lives on earth, more time in heaven!
That seems stupid. People don’t hit a certain age and instantly become decrepit. For anyone else, maybe check with the actual rescue groups? Or fostering? Either could be another way to help, even with age limits.
Thanks for your good heart. Maybe you should look in another shelter or group but don't let them make you feel bad. You will give them a wonderful live. Blessings

You can still foster!
My parents are 80 and 65 and still adopt!
Perhaps a senior dog?
I am a 70 year old widow and have had and worked with dogs all my life, Mainly rescues and one bought pup. I am a dog behaviourist. When my last dog died I too, for several reasons, have reached the very hard decision that I cannot have a dog any more. I do still have one very loving older cat and I am so thankful for her. We can reach the stage where we know we cannot give a dog the life they need anymore and that to take on another dog would be selfish and very unfair on a dog. Others can give you very many reasons why you should have another dog but they do not know all the reasons that lead to one knowing it would be wrong for ones circumstances. So my best wishes go out to you.
A “Soul Dog” is like loosing your life partner…You just don’t get to replace them until you’re ready and it could take months or years. I was married for 49 years and it’s been 7 years and I’m far from wanting another life partner. I have found a new passion…I foster dogs with medical needs from my local rescue. My first one was a 10 year old Miniature Pinscher (Minnie) who had heart worms and she was with me 5 months during her treatment and recovery. She had lived in a wire crate and had litter of puppies or litter until the breeder no longer wanted her. When I got her, she didn’t even know how to sit down or was house trained. She was unbelievably smart and food motivated and took a week to learn both.
31:26 I love how he knew what your lap pats meant! He was so starving for some love!
Thank you , vet John and wife .
You are angels.

I gave her space, talked out loud to myself. Three days later I scooped her up and she took a two hour nap in my lap. ❤❤❤
Keep the pupdates coming! I❤them!
I love how Rocky get's so excited when he sees that Boxer's tail wag! That was so funny 😀
Emily and Dawn, I love you! I'm overjoyed that you found each other.
Love hearing all the pup dates! Kelly should do more sitting with the dogs. She's a natural!
I wait for pupdates and so far….
All Good News. Bless all involved for caring so deeply for these precious beings.
The pupdates are so special. they allow us to have both sad and happy tears! I'm just in awe of how you can cope emotionally and keep on doing this. Adopting dogs is a wonderful thing to do, but not many of us could leave them behind after connecting with them, putting our own hearts aside and knowing that it's best for them, doing as much good as possible for as many as possible. Not all heroes wear capes!
So happy Star got adopted! Bless you guys for your work!
My heart So happy for Poppy (Libby), and Dawn with the Pup Cup was so damn sweet!! xoxo Cella & Sugar
Dogs are a superior species, they give us human beings the opportunity to improve and be better.
