    Hi Zach, from what I am learning, it seems like I can just buy the replacement tweeter cover to fix my speaker. My son pushed in the tweeter cone. Obviously, I could try and push it back out, but I think I would rather buy the cone replacement. What I want to make sure is that there isn’t anything behind the dome that could be damaged from him pushing in the cone. If there isn’t, then the cover should be all I need.

      Hi thank you for your comment behind the foil of the tweeter there is Metal it will be very hard for a child or even an Adult to damage if I was you I will just push it out it doesn’t do anything to the sound, the only reason why I suggest this is because it is hard to line up the new tweeter. Another reason is the tweeter in your other speaker will have been paired for the best sound. You will most likely not notable to you but just something to think about. But if the tweeter is dead then just do it!
      Hope this helps!

    that dome is made of aluminium. It's not that delicate as you might think. Yes it's delicate in the sense that if you push from outside the dome it will bend but I've replaced two of these 602 tweeter foils and had to apply full of force to get them torn. It's a sheet of aluminium. Just push it back gently with your finger and be careful not to bend the coil otherwise your foil is ruined. The coil is more important than the cap.

    • @zacktanda1813
      @zacktanda1813  Před 2 lety

      I agree they are tough but it is still worth being careful as when they have been pushed in the metal may be weak I think it is called metal fatigue. And I agree it is always good to watch the coil as not only it can be messy with the oil on it, it is the main part of the tweeter and if you damage that a tweeter replacement is needed (just the foil and the coil).

    • @zacktanda1813
      @zacktanda1813  Před 2 lety

      Yes if you are able to find another part or repair it,
      The part may be able to be glued if it is only in 2/3 pieces. Also if you have/ know someone with a 3D printer it may be worth remaking the part in cad. But I think you may just want to find a new tweeters unit replacement if you can’t make/ repair the part, as finding a new original part will be hard as the speakers are around 16 years old and parts are no longer made.

    what makes this happen. All of my tweeters look like this. For the cost of these speakers it is disapointing

    • @zacktanda1813
      @zacktanda1813  Před 3 lety +1

      Well most of the times it is just accidents when people hit the top of it and there is no plastic where the tweeter is so you finger goes through the grill and hits the tweeter. It can also be kids or just dropping them. It can also be picking them up and your hand hits the tweeter. If it just happened for no reason, in very very rare times if the sub is moving out and in and the tweeter is not sealed probably it can be sucked it and pushed out but as I say rare!

      I hope it goes good on my channel I have a better video showing the repair. I have a some b w speakers and I love them but I did not get new ones as they are now made in China :(. The older b w speakers are still very very good but you need a strong amp on some of them. I am enjoying repair speakers at the moment as it is nice to keep them going. My dad before had floor speakers but has now gone for a simple sound bar and a Samsung tv. I have kef and b w but I have a problem of the bass from the subwoofers going down. • @zacktanda1813

      Not really the dust cap is fused to the coil. You can replace the coil and also the dust cap and use the same magnet and faceplate. New replacement coils can be found on eBay. The main problem is that the tweeters are paired at the factory for the best sound. I will only suggest replacing the tweeter coil if the current one is Dead.

      They are fairly damaged but still work fine. The speaker are around 15 years old now they have been moved lots of different time. But the good thing about them is they are fairly easy to fix and to make it better, they still sound good! I made the video to try and show the repair of them. Mainly because some of them are in amazing condition just a minor dent! Also the problem with replacing it is it may not sound the same and they are around £70 or £80!
