I like that you share your fails with us as well as your wins. Good stuff.
Oh you gotta show that stuff. Its the spice of life.
Appreciate the hard work my guy!!! Props to your team!!!
I appreciate that. These days are long but its just fun.
not used to seeing this channel doing a lot of long range stuff. I'm liking this! Keep mixing it up and giving us great content.
Gotta mix it up. I am really enjoying the challenge.
Hey Mike!!! Stumbled on to your channel surfing CZcams up here in Alaska. I was like crap, I know that dude. Great content!!! I'm really glad to see you sharing your expertise and experiences with everyone. All, I'D HAVE THIS GUY WATCH MY 6 ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!!! don't come any better! Your old gym Brother. I'll have to stop in there when I'm in town.
SEC 8
Awesome man. Thanks for watching.
Just ordered mine from optics planet, my goto for optics. I had no idea it was a brand new scope, that explains the limited reviews. Thanks for the video
Great set up for a great price.
🦅
yeahhhhh
Vortex makes good glass at a fair price IMO. I have a Venom 5 X 25 X 56 on a 20 inch 308. It's clean / clear to look through. All in all I like it and it works well for me. I am very old school and long range to me is, me and a buddy and one of us looking through another scope at 100 - 300 yards. A few rounds and it's "You need to come down 3 in. and over to the right 5 in. A few rounds, OK now your really off turn it back twice as much the other ways LOL. Love the content and Great Job as always. You know the drill, Keep making videos and we will keep watching with the thumbs up👍👍👍
I just got that venom 5-25 in and took it to 950 on a tripod with a mossberg patriot lr tactical.
@@TacticalConsiderations I have Venom 5-25X56 on all my rifles except my M4 A3 in 5.56 which still has the iron sights. 3 of my rifles are Mossberg. Patriot in .308. MVP LR 308 (discontinued.) And the Patriot Predator cerakote 7 mm PRC. .61 inches for a 3 shot group.
I recently picked up strike eagle in the same configuration less the bells and whistles. After learning that the venom is similar I returned the strike eagle and purchased the venom
I hear you, I felt the same way first time I hit nine consecutive shots at 1008 yards with 16” AR with a Criterion Core barrel
Love that.
Great video! Thanks so much for the build list. Not many people provide that.
Glad it was helpful!
@@TacticalConsiderations Just bought the PSA Sabre AR-10 and was looking for a budget scope to shoot, give or take, 800 yards.
Nice review, just subscribed.
Much appreciated.
Nice bro. Hitting 1000 yards with a single stage trigger. I know its a blackout trigger, but I always have to have a 2-stage for long range. Arken has ruled the budget scope market (Japan glass) but looks like Vortex is jumping in the market also and that's good to see.
We hammered it with the geissele 14.5 and a single stage. All about that position.
Nice type, writer .. Great video. Stay safe and God Bless..
Much appreciated. She pins for sure.
Yep, running the same reticle in my 5-25 PST on my .308 bolt gun. Like it on where I've used it so far, just don't have much time behind it yet.
I di g it. I just got in th e5-25 venom took it to the same distance on a tripod.
Solid
Thanks.
Another great review! Are you doing their venom lpvo too?
I haven't run that .. But I did just shoot the 5-25 out to 1k yesterday with ease
Nice!!!!! Thx Buddy!!
For sure. Thanks for watching.
Wtf… I was literally just looking at this exact scope on Optics Planet, went to look up reviews, and literally see that you just posted this a couple of hours ago 😂
For the money it tough to beat.
That 1st round impact at distance is a very addictive drug
It surely is.
Yeah that's going on my 6.5 Grendel. Hog killer!
Niiiiice. I go hog hunting next month.
Is this reticle suitable for a hunting scope or would you stick with a second focal plane setup
It is if you like an easy holdover style reticle. I hate traditional crosshair style reticles so I am weird that way.
for someone that just goes out to a range and hits plates by themselves would you recommend an MOA version or MRAD version? The MOA is a bit cheaper and I'm willing to make that sacrifice since all my other scopes are MOA. I've been wanting to get into MRAD scopes but the cost is usually a lot higher.
Nice optic at a great price!!
I was pretty impressed with the performance of it at this price point. Especially now that I have several pieces of glass that are 2k-4k in cost I have a good reference point of very high end and below.
@@TacticalConsiderations You absolutely do with that price point, and the pricier ones like NF and such. Great value and price for what you get with that scope!!! Now to find a LPVO with an etched glass green reticule and a 1-8 or 1-10 zoom with similar high qualities for the similar low price point.
70g at the muzzle is around 2800-2900 fps. I wonder what it is out at 1000. How much energy is left.
The energy deliver at 1k is 150 barely enough to ring the steel.
For my 18" SPR I go back and fourth between getting an LPVO vs a 2-12 or 3-15/18 with offset red dot
In NY we are limited to 300 yards but I can travel to shoot 1000 but in that case I have a 4.5-30 I could throw on.
??
well this was a 16 and it still hammers to 1000. I took the geissele 14.5 to 1k as well with relative ease . On a 18 I'd go 3-18 for sure.
@@TacticalConsiderations Thanks bud I appreciate it. I know you like the Vortex but have you ever checked out the Element Titan? I love that reticle!!!!!
In batavia 600 yards
I got mine last week. Just have to figure out which rifle to put it on. If you did 1000 yards easy with it, then I will try it on my CS MESA LR 338 LP.
That sounds like a good time.
That looks like south Mountain. I live out in the east valley near queen creek. Where is this spot you are shooting at, I’ve been trying to find a good spot to stretch out my rifles
We use private ranges.
Does it illuminate for low light use?
This version does not have illumination.
I have this optic. I just looked at the full moon.. it had a lot more detail than I had ever seen before.
They did a heck of a job on this one for the money.
@TacticalConsiderations I consider this optic the best single scope on the planet Earth. If it was end of the world and I could only take one optic over all of them..this is it.
Hey Mike these are gas purged for anti fog? Here in Southern Mississippi the humidity is so high i think it will fog anything
i know it's a little higher, but look into the meopta optika6 3-18x50
Never heard of them but I'll take a look.
Is it 36 mils with or without the zero stop installed? I know on my strike eagle 5-25 I loose some with it installed
With the zero you will not have the reverse rotation so it will be less if you run it
Turns out with the rev zero stop installed you only get 47 moa or 19 mils. You’re loosing a lot considering 36 mils or 124 moa without it. Just something for people to think about.
I see you were shooting the Horizon Compensator in this video. How do you like it or what are your thoughts?
Its a monster of a comp. Does a very good job keeping that thing flat as possible and allowing for really good follow through.
Welcome to the LRP addiction 💪
Exactly.
I was going to get this for my Serbu BFG-50, but I think I might have to move up to 5x, just so it looks proportionate 😅
Isn't that the one the blew up in kentucky ballistics face.
@@TacticalConsiderations Nah. That was the Royal Nonesuch model.
Don't trust your life to Home Depot.
I've got the real Serbu.
Please tell me where in Arizona you are out getting to 900yds?
Private range.
Another great job on reviewing this scope!. To bad my brand new Vortex Strike Eagle 3-18x44 arrived a few hours ago! In any case, Vortex has been making some great optics!
Nice Hope you enjoy it.
How does this compare to the viper HST same magnification
Well I don't have that one but its at a higher price point by like 200 isn't it.
@@TacticalConsiderations yes I believe so, I thought maybe they used the same glass
7 minutes in. Is this a commercial or will I learn something about this product?
You clearly have attention span issues. The entirety of the specs are within the first 6 min of the video. Go back and try again.
Sidewinder!!!!!!!!!
Hell yeah man.
Since you’re in Tucson you really should look at Riteon optics.
I have several
Throw some ranger bands around the connecting cords and they become flip caps
Well they always end up rolling up around the band, looking into those 100concepts caps
@@TacticalConsiderations those should be sweet. I’ve got a cpl for rifle lights. Let us know if the scope caps are as good. Appreciate ya Mike
I wish I could understand the ebr7c reticle.
I find it pretty easy. but I have used it a couple of times now.
The reticle has different uses helps with wind and if you miss you can adjust the reticle to the POI.
Ribbed for her pleasure, that is exactly what popped into my mind when I saw that, LOL.
I wish Blackout Defense would make a 6.5 or 308 version of their dual taper lock design AR.
Never fails, there's always at least one in the crowd.
Yup I knew all of this was coming.
Dialing the scope wrong without having a 0 stop to rely on. Pissed me off to say the least.
Yup I have done it a few times lol. I am a total noob.
Looks like a mortar at 950ish. Admittedly you were an 11C right????
🤣🤙🏻
Ahahah right. No Charlie her 11 Bang Bang in 2nd Batt.
I just realized badlands is by me. I want to give their ammo a try.
Their match ammo is great stuff.
I’ll have to take a drive over there
The 75g and 77g are legit. I think the 75g is a bit cheaper right now.
Well.... When i get extra money, ill think about buying it 😂
Its very solid .
@@TacticalConsiderations it definitely does look like a great buy! Great investment
I found one of these on sale for 299 today
Very Solid price there.
@@TacticalConsiderations I thought so myself it was a leap year deal
@@TacticalConsiderations I thought so myself it was a leap year deal
The only thing that Ive ever hit at 950 is the ground 😅
Ahahahah.
lets hook up, we shoot mile plus in Southern AZ. 1000 yard is chump change
We have a 2 mile range up here for the 375ch
I’ve heard hornady and hornaday. Which one is it? Lol
both and who cares.
It’s ribbed for your ears pleasure. I have an ab suppressor on my duty rifle
Right lol. I knew this was coming.
Ribbed for... Oh, my.
Right.
Where are you bro? Missing your videos. Vaca? Something good?
Still here man. I am just being censored.
@@TacticalConsiderations - that’s just wrong! Hang in there.
I like the old blackout defense lowers. They shouldn’t have changed them.
They did have a cool look.
How much..??
I'm on a " Fixed Income "..another way of saying Retired on Social security 🙄🥴👴
Looking ta mount it on my PSA AR - 10 7.62 x 51 / .308
At the parts list there is info on that.
Donut sent me
Much appreciated.
8:34 does not look good here at all. Right side of reticle is super blurry, left side is clear. Clarity is non existent on the edges. Maybe some of this is because of the tactacam I guess.
The tacticam is not the best representation but edge at max is not going to be perfect until you get to about 2 grand.
And when it breaks, you can send it in to have it fixed for free. And then send it in again, when it breaks again.
I have run a lot of vortex stuff I have had to send in 1 optic for battery drain in like 15 years with probably 30 optics used.
@@TacticalConsiderations That’s really good, for Vortex. My friends and I have not been so fortunate.
infrared and smokeless powder split wigs all day all nite.
Ahahah for sure.
👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸💯💯🔫🔫☕️☕️
Thanks.
Lfg
yeahhhhhhhhhhhh
Math is hard...
Dude you know me.
👽🥃😷🍕🎱 may God forgive anti 2nd ammendment politicians.
I don't forgive them for their transgressions. They have played us to many times.
unbeatable? lol no bro
For the price? What you think beats it?
Have you found any good scope caps for this yet?
MKM machine has some and 100 concepts.
@@TacticalConsiderations I 3d printed 100 concepts style scopecaps and shockcollars, then paid $10 for screws, nuts, and shock cord.
