I'm a bodyboarder. Back in the 90's all the cool guys bodyboarded, and surfing was kinda boring IMHO... the surfers couldnt take off as deep as us - they couldnt do spins, rolls, airs, etc - they just didn't have that explosive style. The 2000's i guess was a transition phase, and now in the 2010+ years surfing is all about those things that made bodyboarding big - aerial maneuvers. I wonder what the future holds for bodyboarding now.

God i can feel the rush rn it looks so fun i miss it😭😍 i was in Hawaii a couple years back, i was pretty young, but there was this big ass like 15 foot wave, to me that was big as SHIIT i remember the breeze, the warm water and air, the feeling if being high up in the air, god i rode it all tue way in, ill never forget the feeling

i've learned that when i drop down the face of the wave i gain speed by leaning fowards. let me know if this helps you at all. ( i just started bodyboarding a couple of months ago)
the lower and closer to ur board the faster. as oppose to being idle which u will loose speed.

have you tried using better flippers?
The skill level is very impressive - but I personally don't find it particularly stylish especially when it comes to aerials, rather looking like getting both thrown around and landing it by mere chance although I'm utterly aware that this isn't the case.
Probably I'm just too biased in favour of standing when it comes to board sports.

I got mine for 15 or 20 AUS dollars
I am 71 and still bodyboarding, used to live in St Ives bay in Cornwall back in the early 1970’s, was a member of the Surf Lifesaving Club and surfed a P&H Ski. Bodyboarding is much simpler and needs less equipment-we always have our boards, fins, and wetsuits in the Motorhome-you never know when you will find good waves.

Brah its all in your form on the board. Have your weight distributed right on the board. Back arched and your legs out of the water will increase speed. Watch how each rider sets up for their manuevers and ride whats called the line
