    You were well spoken and displayed the exercise perfectly and the camera work was pretty good however you might want to mention in the title or at least one of the first things you say in the video what muscle it works. I think most would be scrolling four back exercises or bicep exercise, not cable pushdown or curls. Just my two cents worth, keep up the good work

  • @BobbieTheFish
    @BobbieTheFish Před 11 lety

    Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.. was checking the comments to see if anyone might have mentioned that his form was off. I'm more speculating but I think it might be better to stop when your arms reach the top of your chest.. just from trying the motion (..sitting at my computer..) it seemed like if I went all the way to my chin, I stopped feeling it in my back and I couldn't keep my shoulder's tight.

    @barrettrifles Why? Doing shoulder extension actually rotates the lower part of scapula so that serratus actually stretches during this exercise (it does a bit of exentric isotonic musclework though when returning the move and inhaling). Benchpressing with your shoulders only isolates Serratus Anterior

    Feel like this hits the tricep very hard

    • @darrensurrey
      @darrensurrey Před 8 lety +6

      +frederikscience It's possibly because you're bending your arm too much and the weight is too high so you're trying to push it down using your triceps, which you're more used to doing especially if you do the tricep pushdowns, too.
      Apart from lowering the weight so you can practice the movement, I would also focus on engaging the lats by pulling your shoulders down and back while keeping the arms straight (but with a very slight bend in the elbow to avoid elbow problems).

    • @JohnusSmittinis
      @JohnusSmittinis Před 8 lety +15

      +frederikscience - It's also known that this exercise does hit the long head of the triceps; because of how the long head of the triceps connects around the shoulder joint, it does assist the lats in this movement. You can look this up.

    The only thing about this video is that he says to go up to chin level, it’s better to go higher and to lean into it a bit more because you get a much better stretch, hence more full range of motion. I lean a bit more and go to to top of my head for stretch. Talk about pump... Of course, if you have any injuries then you need to do what’s comfortable.
