This could my dad playing keyboards on this version. His band The Glass Family opened for the Dead that weekend. He said they jammed a lot and took a ton of Owsley acid. It sounds like my dad's keyboard playing.
Cool dude
A nice clean version. Thanks for posting.
Awooooohooooo!!
Thanks "Dank Man"
Wow! 😊
Dude this is one of the greatest of all Pigpen
Keep on trucking.
hi there! Im a Brazilian deadhead... yeah!... hey? is it me? or does Pigpen's singing sound alot alike Jerry's and Bobbies singing??? I dont think its me, I think that with all the time spent together, they all somewhat were influenced by each others singing.. am i right?
what an awesome fuckin' jerry pic to start with there chief
nice work here
Jerry's not even playing in this show, he was too dosed to perform. The guy playing guitar is Elvin Bishop. Dig on that for awhile..
Jerry's not even playing in this song, he was too dosed to perform. The guy playing guitar is Elvin Bishop. Jerry played later in the show , but you can look it up , this Elvin Bishop ... this is the show with the 48 minute 'Love Light" , it is all over on the internet archives .
inferior to yardbirds live recording with clapton; guitar, bass, vocals, harmonica- just too loose, lacks the necessary drive. Sounds like they all may have been high.
ya think?
Well I don't know about Elvin Bishop... anyway not bad for someone sitting in for the main man.
Anyway great tribute to the Wolf
& eventually... nobody did it better than the Dead.
John McQuiston they were insanely high. Perhaps Pigpen was the only one not tripping that evening, he was more into drinking.
Honestly.
Howlin wolf wrote it.
Pigpen sang it...as only he could.
