I love how Netflix has made it so normal to love international shows and language is no longer a barrier
Dude, every other country has been doing it for years, imagine the amount of good movies and shows USA has missed because of the language barrier.

This can go very right or very wrong. One thing "Troll Hunter" had going for it was that there were multiple trolls of different characteristics. Here it is looks like there's just one troll, so it better kick ass.

In this movie every idea is a woman correcting a man and making men look silly .in real life, he opposite is true!
*The mountain where the Troll awakens in the movie is called Dovrefjell (Dovre mountain range),* so it's only fitting that they used this particular music, since this is what *"The Hall of the Mountain King"* is inspired by/based on. The original norwegian title for this music is actually *"Dovregubbens Hall"* and it's about *"The King of the Trolls."* So it's literally the most fitting music since the Troll in the movie awakens in this particular mountain range.
For those few here who haven't seen it, there's basically an original found-footage version of this film; and it's great - 'Trollhunter'.
It's a bit odd, but the way there's different species of troll and the run-ins the film crew and hunter has with them all is very intense
Trollhunter is such a good movie imo. I second this guy's comment, check it out!

As a Norwegian myself, trolls are one of the most popular mythical beasts among Scandinavia. This feels very accurate to Norwegian mythology and almost feels like a Scandinavian legend. Yes in mythology the trolls were giant and lived in mountains, I love the adaptation of it not being ancient Norway and rather a way of how the modern world would deal with a giant monster. Reminds me of King Kong or Godzilla.
I love how the Dutch are always making movies about Dutch folklore.

It explained what they eat, how they hide, all of it. It's just so whimsical to think that while I'm hiking I can look at the hillside and think "ya, that could be a troll sleeping there."

@@pawelp531 Considering this troll is a solo giant monster and not a species with varying dangers like the last is already kinda worrying but he does look real good though.
I just watched this movie today and i really enjoyed it, so much better then i expected, fx were great, was well cast, it had incredible action and a lot of heart. Thrilling throughout, never let up and even though it was a monster action flick the humans unlike Godzilla v Kong or Transformer movies didnt feel like side characters....It was obviously not made on a budget near as big as the movies i mentioned but this was unimportant as it was far more enjoyable. @@joeharney135 what other movie?
@@johncampbell5929 this is technically the second movie the first one was called Troll Hunter.
I will watch this movie on netflix.ill give it a chance.
Way to go Norwegian folklore. After Troll Hunter , this movie will make this monster globally recognised.
Everybody knows about trolls dear...
@@theominousgreenglow26 True, we meet them online all the time.
@@Slemmen447 wow pour a glass of wine with that cheese...

I think you misunderstand.
Trolls from Norwegian mythology aren't trolls from fantasy. Just like Thor on MCU isn't Thor from Norse mythology.
@@ripLunarBirdCLH yes and people have been preview to them and other mythologies from there for ages. Just because your generation is ignorant and watches stupid Japanese cartoons doesn't mean the rest of us are.
1:10 oh mahn... This was unexpected 🔥🔥
Hermosa película, no quería que muriera el troll, el humano es el peor animal que existe, por eso ellos se mantienen ocultos, casi lloro 🥺.
I hope this film encourages people to watch more foreign films. It reminds me so much of the old school Godzilla films (with actual puppeteers and costumes). Short, fast paced films, with a message of human centrism in context to abusing nature typically. I would highly recommend watching the Godzilla movies from the Showa to Reiwa eras if you like this film. (my fav eras are Heisei and Millennium)
I love Troll Hunter, so hope this one is good too. I remember being in Britain 10 years ago at a cryptozoology conference in Devon and our Danish friend was asked serious questions about trolls because of Troll Hunter. He had serious answers too.
trolls are not a joke in scandinavia so its good that he had serious answers.
@@saanasalonen8684 Yeah, most creatures in Norse/Nordic folklore is not to mess around with. Trolls at least within the Swedish area is claimed with stealing children from their cribs and replace it with a troll child while creatures like Rå, Näcken or worse is best staying clear off.
@@jakobtarrasericsson4295 trust me i know that. i have three sisters and im the only one with dark hair and eyes so my mother and sister aways bullied me that i was a troll baby... i know it sounds funny but they were vicious and i always felt like and outsider.
