This is likely a multi-year top as we are heading for a depression. I wish I were wrong, but everything I see and hear strongly suggests this. It also appears that in the short term we’ll have relief from inflation, but long term I’m expecting hyperinflation. From what I’ve seen oil is likely headed lower in the short term, but long term I expect it to go well above $100. Natural gas appears as if it may have hit a bottom and is in the early stages of going much higher. I enjoy your videos. They are very interesting and informative.

I also follow closely Jeffrey Gundlach, so your title was very interesting, as well as your video (i really like the openness you have in discussing opportunities with the EW model you use). I have a question though: you keep on discussing news topics to explain the moves that the Elliott Wave model explains. If you follow the EW model, then you should know that the market is fractal and therefore prices are not affected by those news, so what is the reason you bring these news events into the discussion? It's not a criticism, just a question to help me understand better how you view the market. Thanks!

The Oil ETF ( USO) chart looks like it may be forming an inverse head and shoulders pattern. The left shoulder ( in November) is slightly higher than the right shoulder forming this month. It's not a clean ( ideal formation) graph, but it's worth mentioning.
Hi Rob, What is your preferred method of maximizing profits from a Butterfly? As an example, How would you close out a Tesla $230-225-220 butterfly spread with puts expiring in 1 week (Jan-19). I am hesitant to make adjustments in advance , unless they offer a credit. Thank You.

Just a thought...when I was first introduced to Rob's channel, I mistakenly thought the EW patterns "assured" a move in the direction each of the 5 waves. Especially when another EW channel actually DID seem to ASSURE the same directional move. I lost a LOT of money because I did NOT pay attn to Rob saying, as he often does, "we have to wait and see IF THE PATTERN PLAYS OUT". EW is a projection, and EW patterns CHANGE as news or whatever plays out. I am not saying EW doesn't work, I'm just saying "believing " the market is going up or down (picking one or the other) and trading according to the belief could be profitable, however, be cautious, have stops, be responsible with position sizing, or, enjoy (not) sitting on the sidelines for weeks (turning into months) licking your financial wounds. May you trade profitably. My apologies if you already know everything I have written here...I just felt compelled to respond to your query about "does your algo believe..."

@@robroy3343 yes question , i hear that the Elliot wave software you use is profit source for Elliot wave. Have you heard of wave basis and thoughts on that. The guy who started it worked with Paul tutor Jones who also had used Elliot wave. I have listened to him speak he also seams to have a good idea on Elliot wave so would seem to make sense that his software is also good.

A double top seems unlikely. Doubtful there’s a huge number of people who bought at the highs and have been waiting 2 years to sell now at break even. A blow off top in tech is more likely in my view.
I agree with Gundlach, a double top is what SHOULD happen. However, retail excitement is ramping up and there's still a ton of cash sitting in money market accounts. Dumb money is called that for a reason, and people are completely misinterpreting falling yields as a good sign when in fact it's warning of a massive catastrophe later this year after a blowoff top in the first half.
Interesting take. Do you not subscribe to the theory that falling yields are in anticipation of the Fed rate cuts that the market is pricing in? Thanks for the post!

Interest rates are not really high. They are just back to normal. It's just that since the 2008 financial crisis, they were abnormally low. But they are actually now back to a fair place where people are getting paid a fair rate of return for lending their cash to someone else..... I think the economy would really have to get pretty bad before the fed would drop rates way back down and risk inflation...... Young people don't really remember when interest rates were normal because they were ridiculously low for almost fifteen years... Get used to these rates
