As did 2017’s ‘Slowdive’.
I never even dreamed that here in 2023 I would be listening to new Slowdive music.
And the fact that it's some of the best they've ever done is unbelievable.

I see it as this: I’m at the end of my lifetime, trying to accept it. within my consciousness, I’m falling a black hole, a prism of light and memories flashing past me as I fall deeper and deeper before finally joining the center, filling the void with the strains of my soul. a climatic voyage to say the least, where I essentially have to face all stages of grief
That's the feeling I got! My grandfather was one of the most brilliant and unique people and this song makes me feel things I never considered.
Slowdive is what music was always meant to sound like

Having been a huge fan for over 30 years I don't think slowdive have ever made a bad tune, the best of the new singles so far. 👌
I remember buying their first CD in 91 after seeing them on 120 Minutes.
@@heilioEcentric i was introduced to Slowdive by a friend of mine when they released Morningrise E.P, i sat in his bedroom and he played it and it was a mind blowing moment! i think that was 1991 as well, loved them ever since, i was well excited when they reformed, i will be seeing them in London in November as well!

I worked with the bass player from Ride for a short while last year. Super nice guy and you'd never guess he was in such an influential band. Guys from this era are made differently and will always make new music

For those of us who were early fans of Slowdive (early 2000s for me), we are now running victory laps. We knew in our bones their albums of the 90s were masterpieces, and now we are fully vindicated by their magnificent albums of 2017 and 2023, proving to the world how gifted they are. I'm still assimilating ''Everything is Alive.'' You need to give these songs time. Some of the tracks (Shanty, Chained to a Cloud, The Slab) already have me so bug-eyed with excitement I am listening to them on repeat for days. Heck, the other morning I woke up at 4:45am just to listen to them again and again. I'm hearing so many of my favorite bands and songs in this new album: Blonde Redhead (23); Radiohead (Reckoner and How to Disappear Completely); heck I'm even hearing Cliff Martinez (Son of Placenta Previa). Who would've thought after all of this time Slowdive would be pushing into new frontiers? What a glorious time to be alive.

Interesting that someone here says they find this track calming. I feel the opposite. From the very start it feels ominous and quite frightening to me. I like it a lot, but it's like the opposite of a lullaby to me. It's cool how we can all interpret and feel music in different ways. The video is amazing too. I especially love the choice of colours used.

I'm a composer, musician violinist and pianist you both felt what you were supposed to feel a growing sense of uneasiness bevause the upper line of syncopated guitars isrelentless repeated no matter what harmonies under are changing . You are lulled by the repetitiveness of the high mid-soprano line in repearing guitars but the studio reverb and tracery and feedback and other noise on te track collaborate to make you feel as if its one long devastating (tiresome for me)journey in a soundandrain soaked topography .
Yes I think only someone with a significant amount of background anxiety would find this track calming. I do really enjoy it though. Just definitely NOT in a calming way xD

I listened to slowdive a year ago, now I've listened to all their songs, and i fell in love.
outstanding. everything Slowdive has been aiming at all these years. only problem: it's about 25 minutes too short because brothers and sisters I could listen to this all day long

You are right to some extent. First song The Kiss from "Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me"😊 Who knows, maybe "Kisses" single was also inspired by the Cure. I do not mind, I love both of these artists equally😊

Slowdive - I never heard or knew anything about you until your performance at Hyde Park for The Cures anniversary concert - i must confess you where awesome that day and I couldn’t stop humming songs played throughout The Cures performance in my head….I’m glad you’re back with what looks like a timeless album….thank you for the life you brought back to my existence

It's kinda like Pygmalion on steroids. Definitely electronic enough with a "gaze" feel. Good sound on them. A little hypnotic. I dig this direction. Props!
