Just now discovered this video! And I am cracking up seeing my own clip of me breaking my Ikea desk at 01:20 đ
I really like your cable management solution! đ
This needs to be pinned or smth
Saw your video like years ago xd ur a legend man
Just seeing this now, that's awesome đ
That false back is a great idea. I might do that with some pegboard so cables can be laid along hooks or power strips can be attached
ooooooooo thats a genius idea and can always paint the back of it to match with the wall!
This was such a satisfying video to watch.
Yep
Yeah

Looking at this setup and thinking about mine, I feel like a retard now đ. Moreover, I had the courage to put it up đ
Absolutely.
it's funny how everyone goes crazy about cable management, spending 8 hours meticulously tucking, wrapping, and hiding cables to every square inch of their under desk space. Meanwhile you can hide them with a flat panel in about 5 minutes and it's completely removable.
Yeah but not everyone has a desk flush to the wall of want more foot room. The false wall stops the latter.
Thatâs pretty lazy
@@swmedianz indeed it's lazy, that's the point. Unless you have your build complete before you start cable management, it is a pita to add or remove later on, whereas foam board with a couple pieces of velcro tape is not.
@@swmedianz as my welding and engineering instructor told us once, "rule of thumb why stand when you can sit and why sit when you can lay down never make doing something harder or more time consuming than it needs to be", be practical and be efficient the results will always turn out better than if you stayed struggling to fight against the job you're doing, so as seemingly lazy as it would be it does the exact same job with better results in appearance and keeps from possibly kicking the outlet socket out from being plugged into your power strip, so not only does it hide wires better it prevents any accidental wear and tear on them too.
If you put a false wall just to hide the cables it's not smart. It's easier to take the time to manage your cables once so it will be easier when you upgrade stuff in your setup
BROOOOOO looks so cleannn, the white with dark wood color scheme looks so good! keep it up!
Thanks bro!
if anyone wants to have the false wall but not saw anything or have the gap you can use the Trotten countertop which is the same height as the alex drawers and micke drawers with no wheels
Which size trotten countertop? Did you get to try it yourself? Thank you!!
Great HQ content. Very underrated

Thank you I have started to stream and upload because of u
Can I ask which microphone you were using to record the actual video? Assuming it was a shotgun mic of some sort as there was nothing in your face... it sounded amazing!
it's the ntg3, a shotgun mic indeed :)
Hi
probably the first 10+ minute video i haven't skipped one bit
This was a great run-down. I dig the idea of the false back on the desk. I've been thinking of something similar, only taller, for mounting monitor and speakers on. This, so as not to have to mount it all to the wall. Still working out the logistics on that. Anyway, great job, man!
Never thought of a false wall. Man this would have saved me money and time just for cable management. Nice setup
Using a false wall is a no-brainer compared to the hours of cable management time
What kind of cables r u trying manage that take hours? It only took my Dad a half an hour to cable manage his duel monitor and ps4 setup
@@duncandonuts5268 I have a very elaborate computer system and 8 monitors it took me hours to carefully manage the wires so where you don't see them thanks for your concern
@@duncandonuts5268 a lot of people have crazy setups. I have like 8 things plugged in with a crazy amount of wires hanging out. I still dont even have my PC yet đŹ. Its gonna take 2+ hours to cable manage properly
@@duncandonuts5268 that's why, its a ps4 you have to plug in the PlayStation and monitor and plug in the HDMI cord into the monitor not that much to do so yeah
One of the cleanest table setup! Good job man :D! Excited to add a false wall to my desk. Thanks for the hack!!
Glad I found this video, I'm hoping to upgrade around christmas, my desk is really weird and isn't fully symmetrical and has a raised section like an old school office desk.
Another solution to the height being right for the drawers, you can use some risers that are the same height and screw them in or use tape.
1:19 Bills Mafia has entered the chat. great video!!

If you want to build a custom keyboard as u are a starter go with 75% or 80% layout case
The tape on the drill bit trick is a tried and true one. Nice setup and I like you weren't afraid to DIY a bit to get something more suitable.
Thanks for posting an idea. I haven't even considered IKEA and using a false wall to make it work.
Ok, not gonna lie that false wall idea was brilliant
You are so underrated

I already have the desk all thanks to The video Nerd. Now all I need is the gaming pc and 2 monitors which means itâs gonna take a long time to get em
That desk setup looks great! Thanks for sharing your experience, looks like a fun project to work on during this pandemic! Keep up the nice videos, always looking forward to them :)
13:20 because for dirt and dust it doesn't matter if you see it or not, false wall but not false mess behind
The S2716DG was my main monitor too. Then I got the lg27gl850 as a main and the dell served as my second monitor..
My word the difference between that nano-ips and the tn from the dell is night amd day. I have recently upgraded again to a dell S2721dgfa (same ips panel as the lg) so my s2716dg might serve as a third monitor if i have room and if it looks somewhat decent after calibrating.
Other than that, very nice setup with the desk. Always nice to see a good video like this from a countryman! Your obs video's also taught me a bunch of stuff.
Keep up the good work dude!
I used a butcher block counter top from home depot for my desk, not only is it solid Birch but it's an inch and a half thick
I love that you just hav the cleanest setup and cheap.
I have watched a lot of these kinda vids hoping to get some idea of how I want a new setup to be. Normally I click off cause of the way the people show off things. But I really liked this video. Straight to the point, showing basic step by step (which is really good for me cause I need visuals) and overall your voice and the way you talk. Keep up the great work! +1 subscriber
You are amazing youtuber man, I love this content and you will achieve success, keep it going champ
Thanks a lot!
Rather than double sided tape or screws, Iâll get some heavy duty Velcro. I like stuff to have the ability to be disassembled for moving purposes.
I love these types of vidoes man! i learn so much from watching each one
Awesome setup man!
Thanks!
This setup is so clean! Nice job man.
Great guide . If u have the Alex drawers u can use the false wall and remove the leg to suport the countertop. U will have some room to hide the cables but not so much as using Micke drawers
Using the linmon table top as a false wall is genius! So simple but yet I've never seen anyone do it.
Awesome video. Super helpful because Iâve been torn on getting a standing desk or the ikea setup. Love your version of it.
damn this is so epic
but boy i just have to attach a mouse to my laptop for completing my gaming setupđ€Ł
Where u put the wallet under the desk and the double sideed tape you should put lex lights there it would look so much better I think
Thanks for teaching me everything about stream labs obs
Happy to help!
I mistakenly pressed this and then ended up subscribing. Love ur channel
1:20 the video actually proves that it is strong and itâs even stronger with the middle beam.
Great video and excellent quality . Donât be discouraged to build a custom keyboard m8 . Itâs not as bad as it seems once youâre invested . To put it into perspective ⊠less than a year ago I knew nothing about keebs or their inner workings . Now I own 3 customs as well as sell them on the side or gift them đ . Even if itâs just one and done . I think Itâs well worth the headache for the experience đđŒ
Such a cool setup. Keep it up bro!!
This is inspirational đđŸ
Nice video! Yeah that cable management made me find very minimalistic solution for my office space, so for now I am just sticking with Music computing touch screens ikea desk and chair... cheers!
My first custom keyboard build is perfect. It's actually what I am typing on right now.
Really nice setup, I also love the background music!!! This is going to really help me with my desk setup.
The segue to the sponsor is cleaner than my windex
10:03 If you want to make a custom keyboard its not really that hard to get into unless your joining Group Buys, which you shouldnt when starting out. If you go somewhere like KBDFans you can find some keyboards kits that make it as easy as putting your own switches and keycaps on. (though ofc id recommend lubing the switches and stabilizers) personally i didnt mess up on my first build and im pretty sure you wont either if you just get a kit that you wont need to buy all the different parts for. also do ur research just incase XD
wait, i just realized when you said to like, that you only had about 400 likes. MAD UNDERRATED great content i subbed
Woah this looks amaaaazing
That false wall is sick I might try it
@11:03 Did I just watch you take the plastic off the top side of that double sided sellotape for no reason? LOL
Just found you channel - instant subscription for the papillon!
Looks amazing! Ikea ALEX just came back in stock aha
i remember the first time i put everything together nicely.. its all fun and games until a week or so after. so many surfaces. so, much, dust. always have a packet of wet wipes on hand
May I ask what the length of the desk is you bought? Was it 74"/186cm?
Just Amazing
Have the exact same desk, just without the support leg! Really good looking
i wish i could be like you have the best setup in the world
I love this guys channel super helpful
5:34 this man rappin
I got the 19dgf and itâs pretty sweet no problems great monitor
Please upload the studio makeover vedio
Yo this setup looks superb bro đ€ l love the streaming steups u make bro nice keeeeppppp it uppppp bro đ€đ€đ€đ€. Love from Indiaâ€â€â€
im getting the same desk
Iâd say this is an amazing video for ppl who want to build a good quality table themselves (me)đ
Nice video and channel. Grtz from a fellow Belgian YT'er.đđ»đž
Great details and creativity.
you should drill holes in the desk and cut a slit in the mousepad for the mouse/keyboard
I would recommend taping the plug extender to desk so chords donât pull and so it doesnât overheat in general
I simply got an "Utespelare" desk and drawer to store things in and under the desk.
It was all together around 300⏠I think.
The Desk took me 30 minutes to set up alone, including the LED lights and cable management for the PC, monitor, mouse, keyboard...
Great video and idea for the false wall
Nice Setup, and a Good Video...enjoyed it a lot!
You should mount your mic arm onto your secondary monitor mount so it looks cleaner and you can hide it away when not in use
I gotta get this now
Looks nice and clean! Good Job!
Gave a like just for your dog alone. Everything else was still great though. Got a lot of good ideas from here. That false wall... love it!
if you plan on making a custom keyboard watch videos and builds streams and get to know how to lube and build its easy once you know what's what's its easy
Looks so good! Youâre onto something here
Was thinking of adding a 2x4 or something around the edges underneath the ikea top to add strength and make a good spot to put leds around underneath and keep them hidden, then put the table top on of pedestals
very nice! I like the set up and will implement that fake wall in my setup. Great idea!
As much as I like this, how I cover up my cables is with a square cable tie holder and just have the cable tie on by 5 clicks so itâs not 100% tight against the cables so if I need to remove something itâs not too difficult
Love this new setup, bro!!!
Thanks!!
There is always one thing missing in every youtube channel about gaming set up... The Price heheheheh and total cost
:))))
How is the support leg called?
Give this man the reach he deserves
thanks man
Good video, keep the good work up man
Great going
I dont know why but this guy seems extremely wholesome
A little late to the party, but for extra space for hiding cables and have the counter top overhang the cabinets in the front, you could use a MDF board with one white side instead of a thick linnmon, the kind IKEA uses in the back of closets (Billy).
building a keyboard isnt hard, just get a hotswappable pcb, I would recommend the tofu 60 acrylic for the case and a 1up hotswapplable 60 percent pcb
Finally something my Swedish brain understands
nice tut
I'd love to use the countertop but I really want a 60cm deep desk
I meant 80cm the countertop is 60 deep
Very nice vid man
you are amazing, keep going đđ
this would be so sick, but no ikea ships to the island i live on hahaha
nice video and i like the idea its simple cheap and extrem nice. simple to copy it and i can maintance or change my setup without needing hours for the cable.
