    Hi, great video. Thank you. Question: Other than the cinder blocks weighing them down, is there anything else keeping these attached to the roof? How much wind can this type of system handle?
    I have an installer who just did this on a customer's house and they are not happy with the final result. Especially when this is not what they were told would be installed. Also, the installer used very big, bulky, ugly cinder blocks on an expensive property on a golf course. It looks awful. Their home is also in a very high wind area, so they are concerned about that issue.
    Your installation looks much better with the cinder blocks hidden from view.
    Thanks for any info.

    I would have been tempted to install it as east west facing aray any and get a longer generation period with less of a mid day peak. Was this an option?

    Interesting video. Which manufacturer flat roof mounting system are you using?

    I have seen other similar systems but they fit wind shield protectors to stop the wind getting under the panels. do they come with the Van der Valk system and just not fitted in this video.

      Side plates are available with Van der Valk systems as an optional extra. We always install them, it can also lower the ballast calcs due to preventing as much wind uplift. Also looks tidier!

    Have you tried using the K2 Dome 6 system for flat roofs at all?

      Hi Chris, no we haven’t. Is it a product you usually install?

    • @Chris-hy6jy
      @Chris-hy6jy Před rokem

      @@dorewoodman no, I'm just shopping for some parts to make a DIY system for a flat roof garage and the K2 seems to be sold by a few UK wholesalers. I'll have to compare it against the Van Der Valk price wise.

    Hi, is bird protection needed in similar flat roof configurations?

    • @WhosBadX
      @WhosBadX Před 2 měsíci +1

      Bird protectors are very uncommon in flat roof installations. In most cases, if the installation is high quality and done right, bird installations are not necesary.

    I do not understand why one would do this? Have you guys ever installed solar before?

    Are these racks much more costly than renusol tubs?

      Hi Nick we have never really installed the tubs but I would expect they are slightly higher in cost

    Client would have been well advised to strip the roof and start again.

    You’ve got the wrong end of not creating a loop…
    Not how to do it!
    You’ve actually created a massive loop.
    You have to run the return to the inverter along side the module stringing, not straight back.
    You guys are creating extra, unnecessary DC connections that cause 80% of PV fires.
    I know a good company who can string this properly for your client…
    Please don’t bother posting how to videos if you don’t know “ how to “
    And for the love of God please tell me you’re not going to hide that SWA in the fabric of the building. If you do you’re going to need a bloody good lawyer.
