I did think this race was rather uneventful, but this is how most of the old North Wilkesboro races were. We got to witness an old school style whoopin to the field, which is what made this race much more nostalgic.
People only watch Nascar to see big crashes
@@kalicasts children and fake racing fans only watch for the wrecks
@@mattharrell3932 exactly, these new fans forget ehat made nascar good, every time fans ask for their old racing back they complain about it, they say they want more horsepower they complain
I honestly don’t care about uneventful, its a Cup race a North Wilkesboro, that’s eventful enough.
Larson DOMINATED… and they hardly show him going up the field. Big Fail. Surprised no one else was able to fight him for the lead though.
That said, I’m sure in person it was way better. I blame the TV coverage
Nice to see actual racing for 100 laps, no stages. Nascar needs to bring that back along with this track on the schedule
If they don’t bring it back on the schedule it should definitely be home to the all star race every year 🤷🏼
Congrats Kyle Larson on winning the Nascar Cup All Star Race at North Wilkesboro!!!! Kathleen Cone Apopka Florida..
@@KathleenCone-cm4ql he won truck series too
I expect they will, they did not spend all that money renovating it for just one race.
Used to be no stages except all star race, now only real cup race is the all-star meh
This is beyond awesome being back at North Wilkesboro.
Big thanks to dale jr for helping to make this happen tho!! Love this!
I actually really enjoyed this race, sometimes people need to understand that racing is not only about wreckin' and yellow flags all the time, IMHO It was a very successful event.
Glad to see NASCAR back at North Wilkesboro! STANDS look Full! Larry and Daryll commentating! Good old school NASCAR!!!
Nice to hear D.W. in the booth again
That STP car sure is one sharp unit!
People that complain about the race being boring are the same ones who complain stage breaks ruined NASCAR. This kind of race is what stage breaks were designed to prevent. Make up your minds.
YEP!!! 100% I liked it and it shows who the best driver is. Nothing like an ass-whooping and no watermelon "farmer"
to mess it up at the end!!
Dude I think the stage was a good change. That race was a snorefest, I literally slept halfway thru it and I wasn't even drunk.
@@Strome88 they had a stage, go take your ADHD meds... this is classic 90s NASCAR racing
Stage breaks suck aids infested cock and this race was awesome. You made no point at all with your ramble. LLAL
Stage cautions suck ass. But these cars also suck ass when it comes to short tracks. This outcome was entirely predictable, given how these cars raced on other small tracks.
man i'll say it again, it's great to be back at north wilkesboro again, but this time, it's better than ever.
Love it! Reminds me of the good days, can hardly stand to watch the races now. Congrats Kyle!!
In 1994 Geoff Bodine led 334 of 400 laps. He was the only car the finished on the lead lap.
So is racing better or worse today compared to 90s NASCAR racing? Which do you want, because we are tired of hearing how the 90s were SO MUCH BETTER, but tonight was EXAXTLY how short track racing was in the 90s.
The nineties was simply better because of the rivalries, it was less about that’s my teammate and hurt feelings and it was more about I’ll bump your ass and take you out if necessary. It was about the crop of old school drivers not taking shit and being cut throat. Today, the drivers are modern. and it’s teammates and this engine group with this manufacture, etc Give me a break. We don’t want that type of nascar with snooze fest driving. We want lead changes and battling all over the race track. Kudos to the 5 team they gave him a rocket ship tonight, he drove it home. But we need 5-7 rocket ships out there that have a chance to win. And tracks that allow passing.
It WAS a great race, so you just "proved" 90's racing WAS better.
Nascar fans try not to be blinded by nostalgia challenge (LEVEL IMPOSSIBLE)
@@kalicasts F1 fan trying not to insult Nascaf fans (level 101% impssible)
I think it’s about the same as the 90’s, except tv coverage, they were much better about showing you a battle back then rather than showing the leader cruising around with a 5 second lead. When that’s the only thing the tv is showing, that is what you will base your opinion on
this was SO FUN to watch! always great to see the 5 dominate.
Big up Prime Time Chuck for being a huge part in making this happen.
👍🏁Larson🏁👍
Glad to hear my man Darrell Waltrip back in the booth.
Dont understand the people that complain about the race being boring. If you dont find it interesting, dont watch it.
Uhhhh maybe it's the first race they watched at NW?
I mean it was a boring race? that doesnt mean we dont like the sport like damn. So what you're gonna sit here and say that race was exciting?
I mean it was 100% a boring race, but thats ok it happens in Nascar but that doesnt change the fact this race was boring like what? its a fair criticism which is rare Nascar fans criticism is usually awful.
pfff i fell asleep lmaoo about 20 laps in
@@zumptt if you know it happens, then don't waste time complaining about it.
I agree with A brick wall, the online complains about each race has been getting on my nerves, coming from a die hard NASCAR fan
Old fashioned butt whooping
Please make this part of the schedule next year again
The earlier race of the evening was a bit more eventful. All around great day to be at the track. Beautiful weather with a great crowd. Pretty cool to be part of the return of NASCAR to our small town! 👍
1:20 OHHH SPINHOUSE!!! Watching that live had my dead
If wrecking and fighting is what makes a sport fun, then maybe try watching demolition derby or boxing
B l o o d
Lol yes, because a demolition derby is a racing “fight”
Or maybe some fatal crashes - idk
Way to go Kyle and what a track to win on.
Pure dominance by the best driver in the cup series. This is what will happen almost every race if someone doesn't take him out. Great race. Larson wins next week if no one wrecks him
He ain’t Winning again
@@Cheddar_9 what makes you think that???
I mean, there was a script a few months ago
@@Cheddar_9 are you sure it's real or something someone written up as a joke because people do that now hell someone did it to the NBA finals so i highly doubt that script is even real
I was talking about Charlotte
Alright Kyle! All the way from the back congrats to my favorite racer!
If you ain't first your last. All star Winner Larson #5 now a millionaire. Good job buddy.
Congrats Kyle Larson on winning the Nascar Cup All Star Race at North Wilkesboro!! Katie Cone Apopka Florida
Larson drove from last to first... please stop with the boring race crying. Just because your driver didnt drive through the field, doesnt mean its now boring.
It’s was boring and I like Larson, it was like most races at this junk track. Shut this place down again. They got the last of my money
@@thomaskarrenstein4065 then dont complain how NASCAR was so awesome in the 90s. This is how most races were.. when the sport was growing. It took real drivers wheeling cars to win.
It was boring, shut it down again
The people calling it boring only like wrecks, not racing. They are just pathetic babies who love girly drama and putting on lipstick for their favorite driver. LLAL
@@mattharrell3932 I agree. It was refreshing to see a race with long green flag runs instead of a caution every 30 or 40 laps.
Yung money!
Also it was expected becauseeeeeee

2021
2023
And at 3 Different Tracks
Not too many people can win a sprint car race on Tuesday night , then win the truck race Saturday, then start in the back and win today , and a million dollars , kyle , you are the greatest !!!!!!!
I was at this race and the CARs tour race with Jr last August. It’s amazing how much transformative work has been done to update the track and the fine tune the parking strategy.
My wife and I stayed for the entire race and didn’t have to wait in line to get out of our parking lot!
The race would have been better if it were longer like the old Tyson or First Union 400s where pit stops were needed and tires and brakes actually wore out. But all in all a great event and I’ll buy tickets again if NASCAR puts it on the schedule next year. I’m actually excited to watch races again thanks to this track.
Loved watching a good ol butt kicking. Let the best man win. Let the best equipment rise to the top.
I couldn’t watch the race, so I picked Kyle Larson’s in car camera, turned on MRN and had a great time. I predicted this race would be as it was, but I also called that you needed to treat this like Old Bristol… one groove track, fight for position. Kyle smoked them!
I bet Jeff Gordon was just itching to get back in the car, especially with Ray there too. NW was one of the best tracks back in the day.
Dw back in the booth for tonight was awesome
NASCAR needs to embrace it's ROOTS. This track should be the Graceland of NASCAR, it should be considered hollowed ground for the sports roots, embraced, cherished and protected.
Just a straight ass-whooping from Kyle Larson, we haven't seen dominance like this since Truex's Coke 600 win.
Larson haters punching the air right now Lmfao
And crashtain fans commiting suicide
WOOO man it's great to hear DW God bless you brother
Good to have DW back
9:02p.m CST). Nascar has always been anybody race. To just being apart of a race or to come in last would still be a dream come to for me
Good to see North Wilkesboro back, they did a hell of a job cleaning it up and getting it back to racing conditions. It's a part of early NASCAR history and it needs to stay on the schedule this time.
Yeah this place needs an actual points race bc this place is fun, hope i can get a ticket next time around!!
I enjoyed the race don’t understand why everyone is complaining
They are used to late race BS and constant restarts. This had the feel of an old school race where one car lapping the field was not uncommon. Good race, but the package kept it from being a great race.
I enjoyed it as well. I mean my favorite driver won, but if he didn't, it would have still been great.
Larson was running a line that was physically impossible for that car without bottoming out which is why no one could follow him. Blatant cheating. No other drivers even tried because there was no point. It was a parade.
@@ranndomundead9112 how was it cheating to bottom your car out to save your tires or is it that your a kyle Larson hater everyone was doing it hell if you saw the open or the truck race you would have seen even more sketchy shit than in the allstar race like Michel McDowell actually nearly jumping the start on multiple occasions and everyone was using the apron anyways to get grip
@@BDeLuca4444 The package is why I had the issue. I don't mind the actual racing, it's just weird seeing lower horsepower make everything look less racey.
Awesome way to GO🎰🚔
Good short track racing
Not really but okay lol.
@@MrBootydaddy yes it was crash race lover
Average short track racing, where ones guys team nailed the setup and the car was on rails even on 80 lap old tires
While the racing may have been lackluster, I'm still so glad to have this race track back.
Regardless of the quality of racing, it's great to see North Wilksboro hosting top level NASCAR again
Loved the simple race, no tricks, gimmicks , bs. Just race and may the best car win. Love short track action. Kyle schooled everyone , great job.
Good to see Jeff and ray
Kyle Larson is the best driver in North America. Get him in Formula 1.
I might be the first person to ever say this right now where the hell was Chastain at
In the back per usual when he isn’t wrecking people out
I asked that when I went to my parents house earlier, had to ask my dad if chastain was even racing 😂
Loved hearing DW up there in the booth. Took me back
When will y'all increase the hp smh. Stop making the product worse than it should be
HP wasn't the problem here, they couldn't use the amount they had, so adding more wouldn't do much.
No way they're not doing a repave after that snooze fest of a race!!!!
It was only boring if you are a drama queen wreckfest fan and not a racing fan.
It was fantastic. I hate the segments and the way they race now.
It was a good race, but i do agree that a repave is much needed. The track surface is 40 years old and falling apart. giving it a repave will preserve it for another 40 years.
That’s not a Polish Victory Lap…that’s a Smoked Kielbasa Victory Lap!
Good job 5 team.
Love this track
Let’s bring DW back to the booth!😊
The Man!
Hendrick Motor Sports.. the Bud Light drinkers choice.
Larson drifted that Polish victory lap
Good to hear DW come back.
And the best burnout ever !!!!!
I was there and it was a great experience
DW and Boyer were great in the booth.
Look what happens when Larson doesn't get taken out like most weeks!
Is no one going to talk about why DW didn't do the boogity thing. It's nostalgic and had the chance, but missed it😢
Best sleep I've gotten in weeks!
Congratulations on win the All Star race last night
Good race for an All-Star race. However, tapered spacers once again ruined it as well as tires barely wearing out.
Uh what, wear was a huge part of this race and it showed very very early on
@@googlewontletmeuseacopypas5291 Must've looked away when they were showing it, or they were going pretty slow since it's a shorter track and I just didn't notice?
North Wilkesboro needs to be on the schedule EVERY year. NASCAR should have never left in the first place. NASCAR has suffered from the utter stupidity of Brian France abandoning NASCAR's base fans by leaving tracks like North Wilkesboro in favor of boring ass intermediate tracks in his desire to make NASCAR more corporate. At least NASCAR is FINALLY figuring it out. The new car makes it possible for small teams to compete, which is why I'm a big fan of the new car. Keep giving us more short tracks, road courses, and DIRT races! Never forget that your history MATTERS ever again. Keep this track on the schedule as a reminder of the past... It's a priceless time capsule.
jaws and jaws 2 in the booth
I don't mind much about the racing being a bit slower paced because it was how races used to be typically. I'm just happy to see the local fans getting an opportunity to watch a live nascar race again, they really never deserved to lose that tracks date.
#5 is the best driver in Nascar, and his name is Kyle, go figure.
Awesome!
A much better show on this race track would be the Whelen modified tour
THE CLASH WAS MORE EXCITING THAN THIS SNOOZE FEST
Increíble alto lollapaloza
should do classic decals for this race next year
they should give larson more than a million dollars, and the commentators are cheering for him and there joking around saying, he just won a million dollars, i'm like dude other races this year, are given out multi million dollars, this all star race needs more than a million dollars.
Larson and Elliott are probably the richest guys in the sport today, they have annual salaries of ~$10 million.
Granted, that's a lot, but over 36 races thats an average of $333,000 per race. So Larson just got himself a 3-race bonus, for one race's work. And thats for the biggest stars of today. Back in the old days, a million bucks meant a lot more financially, but the big stars also had much bigger paychecks. Dale Sr and Gordon had salaries that absolutely blow Elliott and Larson out of the water.
Imagine what a million bucks would be like for a small-team driver like McDowell or Stenhouse, who likely bring home about $400,000 a year. Thats 2.5 years of work in one race.
great hearing DW in the booth again .
FINALLY NO STAGE Caution ❤️❤️❤️❤️💪
If you call an event that passing is rare, no matter where it’s at in the field a great race? Then you got exactly what tickles your fancy!!
One groove race
They'll have this at Atlanta next year istg
Great race and it was good to see Suarez out front early too. Idc if all the wreckfest fans didn't like it, they don't like real racin' to begin with!
Real racing...lmao
@@MrBootydaddy bot
mrbooty.....which glory hole do you run?
Idk what people are/were complaining about. It was a bit boring sure, but I thought the prestige of the track made up for it. Plus, you still could pass. I think it was more so the fact that there wasn't as many cars on track, and I think that in order for short tracks like Martinsville, Bristol, and NWB to work, there needs to be more lap traffic. The package didn't help by any means, but I don't think it hurt the racing product as much as other people would like to think. I lowkey kinda enjoyed the lack of drama. Also, I say all of this as someone who isn't even an old school fan (I started watching back in 2010/2011 as a kid).
Beast
Wilkesboro is proof that it’s not too late to drop the stages.
Piloto de Nascar
Why do people think this was a boring race go and get a break from the sport ☠️
Domination
Kyle Larson is single handedly keeping nascar alive.
I for one love the old school format and absolutely hate the stages as a fan. For the cars, drivers, and teams though, it can be a break they desperately need after a long run and i get that, but all too often it can also ruin their day if they get bunched up again and get wrecked.
Awesome
Maybe I'll be wrong but a few months after this initial hype of NW opening back up, it'll die down significantly. Cars have gotten more powerful and tracks have gotten bigger, it'll make people yearn to watch the races on bigger tracks more than ever.
Nascar need to address the racism towards Wallace
This All Star Race was an absolute dud, Nascar should be proud.
Was a great race, you're just addicted to teenage drama and wrecks.
