Very lovely deck
I have the 5120 but has the tube tonearm. I want to get a flat tonearm for other cartridges. Very cool. Surprisingly good little turntable
It does indeed sound very good. My husband had this one in his set up in the 80’s. We managed to find a second hand one on eBay, it was listed as not working, but we managed to fixed it. The cart on it is an Ortofon Om5e
What happens when the tonearm gets to the end of the record, it just sits there at the end?
Hi. Nice video. I might buy one. Somebody in my town is selling. Please what is "heavy weight vinyl"?
New vinyl pressing can be heavy 120g -180g That was not the case when this turntable was built. I don’t know if it was just this one, but when I played heavier vinyl, it compressed the springs and the platter rubbed.
nice minimalistic. typical NAD.
You could've given it a wipe :D
Looks el cheapo
Its called "Minimalist". Not everything should look like a Nascar. The Power button and other controls are underneath if you were looking for them.
@@-NoneOfYourBusiness my turntable is a 1985 AR (acoustic research) if you talking minimalist, listen up, this turntable is completely manual, even to change the speed from 33 rpm to 45 requires that you remove the outer platter physically move the drive belt to a different diameter pulley, by hand. The tonearm is manual, in fact the only switch on it is the on/off. No automatic lift after a record plays, nothing.
Lovely to see. The 5120 was my first turntable back when i was a teenager. The flat arm is best, and I recall demo'ing the NAD against the Dual CS505-2. The NAD just edged out the Dual in terms of refinement in all areas. The owners manual had the settings for the damper pot for many cartridges. Great to see 🎉
