Amazing for 1985
An example of how people know what they are doing. Why would it not sound good given the skills they had to do it?

This whole album is a god damn masterpiece.
Your great
For me this is in the top 3 or 4 metal albums ever released - it's that good. So it's a pity he wasn't a bit less crass with the lyrics
yes it is
THRASH TILL DEATH
Cro Mags and this album irreversibly mixed metal and hardcore. SOD members a brilliant mix. Bassist was Anthrax's bassist originally. Singer Milano at the start was mixed in NYHC since late 70s. They were already well schooled. Written and recorded in 3 days, you feel the rush, urgency, and intensity in the whole, genius record.
F**k yes!!! These riffs still fire me the f**k up!💥
I was 17 in 1985. I distinctly remember “slamming” became “moshing” after this record came out.

I think I wore out 2 copies of this cassette in the late 80's early 90's. One of my all time fav albums. And now, as a father with a 16 yr old son we just went and seen Slayer, Anthrax and Death Angel play a show in Indianapolis. Told him all about the S.O.D. jams with Ian and Benante and crew. He is into Thrash and speed metal just as much as I was at his age. ...One of the highlights of parenthood for me !

I really love the complex "note-y" stuff of modern metal, but there's something about the simple riffs of old that are hard to beat. God I miss my youth.

Also important to note Scott's guitar is so advanced and technical. Not exactly easy to play. Respect! \m/
Imagine releasing this album now and the complete mayhem it would cause
😂
There are still bands making metal with lyrics like this, just not on major labels and they aren't on Mtv. I remember when activist kids cared about things like Vivisection. Now they don't care about Vivisection on puppies, instead they are worried about someone being offended if I say suck a dick.
"not suitable for a MODERN AUDIENCE"! good.

Yeah and the funny thing is Dan, Scott and Charlie have Jewish heritage so they are a minority themselves which is why people are so silly for being offended. They aren't white men being racist.
