      @@OilPaintingwithRobertMee I’ve been trying to become more relaxed with my brushstrokes. Watching you demonstrate has been great. I love the way you hold the brush and often “twist” the paint on to the surface. I’m going to try this technique in my next painting session

      The twisting of the brush leaves an interesting mark. Thanks for watching 😀

    Just the most wonderful way to paint . I have spent all my life trying to produce loose paintings like this but had no tutorials on how.
    It is too late now for me but I can enjoy yours.
    Thank you so much

    That is fantastic. One of your best oil paintings, I think. The lack of detail is something beginner painters are so bad at (including myself) and I appreciate your emphasis on this as the main subject of this tutorial.
    If I would replicate it myself, I would actually paint the sky first, let it dry and then come back to do the trees in order to avoid to have to correct them too much. Do you ever prepare some paintings in advance and let the done parts dry to show the viewer its advantages?
    Man, you are very productive! Compliments on that and also on your skills.

      Thanks. I generally try to start and finish in one sitting, unless it is a very large painting. I think by painting alla prima you can get some great effects and connection throughout the painting.

    • @OilPaintingwithRobertMee

      Yes. I am very interested in the impressionistic way of painting, I and looking to be slightly more colourful....but try and do it tastefully!

    I love how you explained the mixing of the colors but I dont see you using any media,is that right? Because when you apply the oil paint it the canvas runs very smoothly . I enjoy every single one of your videos,thank you

    • @OilPaintingwithRobertMee
      @OilPaintingwithRobertMee  Před 5 dny

      I use a little linseed oil if the paint from the tube is too stiff.

      Nice, thank you Robert. I would like to share something that works very good for clean old brushes with oil stick to, I soak them for a couple days in water with the granulated cloths detergent ( old fashioned) .

    That is a beautiful work of art. Nice and loose!!. Do you normally prefer to use linseed oil or turpentine as a medium?
